csgo.com/news/37564-jammpi-sues-valve-fo.. "According to the source, the cooperation with OG could provide Jamppi with earnings of €264,000 as a base salary". So if thsi is 1 year contract then its €264,000 / 12 = €22,000 per month, damn i think its too high for the team who couldn't pass closed quals on minor

still illegal to sell and buy accounts tho
2020-04-01 12:43
How hard is it to understand that selling an account is not the same as a vac ban
2020-04-01 12:45
how hard is it to understand that you can cheat and then have a friend log in once so his IP is logged and then claim you sold it when it gets banned if this is allowed everyone can get away with cheating
2020-04-01 13:00
Are you sure that how it works? surely it shows the IP which it was banned on. If there was no proof at all I dont think they would sue Valve
2020-04-01 13:06
account isnt linked to 1 IP. valve doesnt do this on purpose, because if they IP ban cheaters then those cheaters cant pay valve to buy a new account to cheat on unless they get a different IP from their internet provider and that would mean loss of income for valve. what they can do without losing money is track which IPs log on to which account.
2020-04-01 13:08
What if I told you, you get a different IP every time you log onto the net?
2020-04-01 14:35
that used to be the case but due to ipv4 IPs running out most providers in my country switched to fixed IP and actually the one i have has had this for more than 10 years. can be different for you ofc

Nothing illegal about it, its against terms of service maybe, but those are not the law. Also it might be illegal to have such terms in EU. Also there is no rule that breaking terms of service results a lifetime ban from majors. All in all the idea is that if a player is caught cheating he will be perma banned from majors, which is not what people are arguing against even. The point is that valve could help verify if it was jamppi or not who was cheating, they should have a bunch of logs about the ban and i'm sure if jamppi was using both of those accounts they should show same ip and hw ids etc, if they are and have always been just like jamppi said completely separate and used by different people, then he surely did break the terms of service but probably doesnt deserve a lifetime ban. Valve should be able to verify his story to be true or not and make a decision based on that, they are known to not do any of this, that is why they made the lawsuit.
2020-04-01 14:16
didnt valve tell him his ban is not going to be undone? should be proof enough in my opinion

It is most likely that they have not looked into the issue at all, its even highly likely that they have not _given_ any ban even yet as Jamppi has never qualified for valve event. What i've understood is that they have tried to contact valve to clear the situation and valve has not responded anything. Or maybe valve has confirmed that one of the accounts is indeed bought by jamppi and that thats all. So I wouldn't count anything from valve as "proof". But we'll see, its quite interesting, and extremely unfortunate if jamppi is telling the truth. Really hard to prove that you didn't do something if there is no acccess to the data that would most likely show it. Not even knowing when the detection occured so that you could argue your case.

Why not? The only thing that he needs to prove is that he was young enough to don't understand the contract, since when you're under age you can't sign a contract (their parents would be the legal guys there). By the way, this is a videogame and it's a private tournament, so who knows what the judge will say. Know nothing about finland , but it shouldn't be a quick resolution. When it finish, Valorant will be the game of the moment :D
2020-04-01 12:53
he didnt sign a contract, he agreed to the terms of service for the game. it doesnt require a signature. he paid for the game so the rules apply.

Sure, but TOS is basically a basic contract between the individual who's buying the game and Valve who's the one providing the service. So at the end is like you're signing a contract when you accept it. I'm searching now for CSGO but I cannot find it, but at least for steam is like this. "You become a subscriber of Steam ("Subscriber") by completing the registration of a Steam user account. This Agreement takes effect as soon as you indicate your acceptance of these terms. You may not become a subscriber if you are under the age of 13. Steam is not intended for children under 13 and Valve will not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13." If he was under 13 it's gonna be easier for them, but if he was already 13 as I read in some places, they will have to fight it like csgo is rated for 18+ or shit like that. If they did the sue, I'm sure they know they can win in some way.
2020-04-01 14:14
or maybe they were just hoping that valve would want to settle because it is cheaper than having a case in court

US Org and they pay him so much cuz they need an IGL that can deliver.
2020-04-01 12:19
unproven igl..
2020-04-01 12:22
He proves that he is a leader. What he didn't prove is that he get much success. But to be fair he never gets the players he wants/needs not even right now.
2020-04-01 12:25
but still unproven on top level and do you rly want to say that you agree that blameF should be csgo pro with the highest salary? higher than s1mple, astralis etc? its way more ridiculous than 20k for valde...
2020-04-01 12:27
Complexity wanted Aleksbi but he didn't want to go. So they took the next guy that fit in their strategy. They wanted a younger IGL. And if you look at this time, there weren't many options left. name any other IGL under 24 that would be better and easier to get than BlameF. I don't know anyone.
2020-04-01 12:30
i understand why they went for blameF. i have no problem with that. he has potential, he is young, can frag and was available. i just dont get how blameF can be the most payed csgo pro.
2020-04-01 12:32
As I said NA don't get EU players by opportunities. They can't offer them EU living standards. They can't offer him to visit their family fast and easy. They can't offer him high competition practice. But what they can offer is money.

2020-04-01 12:20
so what? cerq, s1mple and many more before did the same but he/they wasnt/werent the most payed pros in the world out of nowhere...as unproven players
2020-04-01 12:21
Nowadays most EU player doesn't want to leave the EU. And you get in NA not many tier 1/2 players and absolutely nearly 0 IGL that increase the prize from an EU IGL a lot. S1mple said he would go to NA again when he starts to end his career cuz for him it was a bad experience even if they pay better.
2020-04-01 12:28
that still doesnt justify blameF being the most payed csgo player in the world tbh
2020-04-01 12:28
NA pays always more than EU Orgs. So you have to see his income in relation to what NA pays not what the whole csgo scene pays.
2020-04-01 12:31
"scene lack of good IGLs nowadays, + he needed to move to US and leave his family, friends etc" this one #14 reply literally told you the most possible reason why they paid him tons of money + he's not that unproven, he leads Heroic as a leader and as a fragger.
2020-04-01 12:56
it is too high. eSports makes the same mistake as they did 2009 with Meetyoumakers and wc3. Pay too much salary, destroy the scene cuz nobody has money when the next crises start. For a player that never played on tier 1 level. 22K too much. This should be paid for Aleksbi as IGL and head of the team. Cuz you need an IGL. But the others? 10k and a noname 4k
2020-04-01 12:18
"This should be paid for Aleksbi as IGL and head of the team. Cuz you need an IGL. But the others? 10k and a noname 4k" valde? nbk...?
2020-04-01 12:19
I guess you have Valde to offer same amount as in North. NBK came from Vitality that gaves him a good chance for high salary. But realistic and healthy for esports scene this is too much salary for whole csgo scene. 20k should be max for a team (so every player in the team get this) like Astralis. And 20k maximum for a player like s1mple.
2020-04-01 12:23
thats not how it works...look at other sports. bigger scene, more fans, more sponsors, more exposure = more and more salary and same goes for buy outs. its just evolution
2020-04-01 12:25
But in other sports, the orgs get more income by sponsorships etc. Everyone knows right now that even the salary is a loss for any org. They only live with investments. In Germany Bundesliga as example investments from companies and rich persons are nearly 0 and still, they can make profit even with 100 million Salary per years. Esports can't deliver this in csgo atm. Every team means a loss at least with such high salary.
2020-04-01 12:38
it was imo just matter of time when this will change a lot...oh well god knows what will happen with corona
2020-04-01 12:40
Carmac said one real difference to sport is: The broadcast rights. You can't makle exclusive broadcast right cuz Valve doesn't want that. And as long you can't sell exclusive broadcast rights you can't make a profit. And if you watch soccer. Only the broadcast rights of a top league give billions of income for 1 year. This will not change as long as Valve or any other dev company dont allow to sell exclusive broadcast rights. Imagine ESL could sell broadcast rights from their tournaments to Sky for 20 millions or more. This would help a lot and you can say they are worthy millions
2020-04-01 12:46
yea that would surely change a lot
2020-04-01 12:48
imagine ESL was a competent org that didnt have many production issues at every single event with 2 fps streams and sound issues...
2020-04-01 13:05
Their Dota tournaments are bad but csgo events best production values.
2020-04-01 14:03
every ESL event i am waiting for their video to glitch out and start playing at 2 frames per second for the rest of the game until they restart stream. its not as bad as a few years ago but it still happens. also they often have audio which is going on and off or has cracklin sounds. i recently watched IEM katowice that ESL organized for Intel, i watched starcraft 2 matches and again production issues. didnt look at the cs games yet but i expect it to happen multiple times. starladder has good production value.
2020-04-01 14:07
starladder major in csgo was a shit show. At minor teams had 2 hours technical break cuz PC didn't work. In CSGO ESL has nearly zero problems even right now wt this Online event. They had the first 2 days some technical issues during the matches cuz of the Internet but since then nearly no problem. I know for other games ESL has more problems. But I dunno why
2020-04-01 14:10
for csgo as well, i have seen countless times stuttery stream at big events that they could not fix during the game. you can still find the vods. hltv.org/forums/threads/756226/esl-strea.. this is from 2015 but i still see these same issues every ESL tournament
2020-04-01 14:12
then we watch two different streams can't remember when the last time ESL stream fucked.
2020-04-01 14:13
well unless you consider 2 fps to be watchable im sure you have noticed if you ever watch their streams. if you are watching secondary stream with german or other language casters instead of english main cast then you wont have noticed. for a while it was so bad i literally only watched ESL events on russian cast even though i dont speak it at all. at least they have 60fps instead of 2.

2 year contract but their salaries are already higher than 11 for sure
2020-04-01 12:36
Anyone knows if it's the first time a player sue valve for that kind of case?
2020-04-01 12:43
yeah, be not going to win anyway
2020-04-01 12:45
He hasn't sewed yet and he probably never will because he knows there is nothing to do against Valve and their army of advocates.
2020-04-01 12:47
Thanks for answering. There is no precedent so far, so how do you know he wouldn't win?
2020-04-01 12:51
well because valve is private company and they have their own rules, its forbidden to cheat and sell accounts, if you got vac ban you can't participate in their events (majors). Jamppi broke their rule anyway, he states he sold account and it got banned. Whether he lie or not, its forbidden to sell account and all accounts you registrated are considered to be your own, so if one gets VAC its your fault
2020-04-01 13:16
Make sense. It will be interesting to see what will happened if Jamppi decides to sue Valve. I guess in this case, the only thing which could play in his favor would be the age he was when he got ban or when he sold his account and if it was long before he became pro.

So private company can make their own rules? So if you buy samsung TV they can forbid you to sell the TV forwards? No they cant? Thats what i thought...
2020-04-01 20:08
fxyo also tried i think, not sure what happened though
2020-04-01 13:25
Thx for ur answer. Didn't find much about fxy0 case except this tweet from nel: twitter.com/neLendirekt/status/124357925..

We gonna see a decline in team pay outs for sure with Corona . Giving so high pay outs (to decent teams like Astralis etc) is actually destroying the scene in the long run. No way Valve will pay him that, they have an army of advocates and Jammpii is just a little kid.

actually the text says 262k as BASE SALARY + 100k (he thinks he would approx win in a year) which means salary should be 162k for 1 year aka 13k monthly not 22k. Read more carefully

264k/2=132k 132k/12 = 11k a month
2020-04-01 13:00

I just assumed that OG signed 2-year contracts with their players. If they signed 1-year contracts, the monthly salary of the players would be 22k a month.
2020-04-01 13:03
yes but text says that basic salary plus 100k he thinks he would earn in a year from tournaments = total loss of 268k. if that is the case than salary is not 22k its around 13k
2020-04-01 13:08
wtf? Base salary is what is he's total wage. And he's contract would have been 2y long, so: 264/2 = 132/year 132/12 = 11k/month idk what the fuck is that 100k, but that missing 4k (268k and 264k) is what he would have received from tournament prizes so far.
2020-04-01 13:10
its not what this text says. it nowhere mentions 2 year contract.
2020-04-01 13:12
yea but it's strong rumor that OG's players sign 2y deal. In finnish newspapers says it was like i said. 264k is total earnings (rumored 2y deal) and 4k from tournament prizes OG has win so far, so total amount is 268,092.

coL roster at that time was very weak: dephh ShahZam BlameF Obo RUSH How this roster could be stronger than the current OG, I don’t know, only if in your fantasies. So I'm not surprised why Aleksib then refused the contract.

esports is a bubble that will crush eventually too many investors and no one except the players is actually making money right now they can't lower player's salary because there are other orgs with a lot investments that can easily buy out your team this is just a reality so 22k is just normal at the current state

It's salary for two years. 264/2 = 132k per year 132/12 = 11k per month. So, it's just a usual salary in tier1 organisation.

2020-04-01 16:46
yes esports salary is high but these numbers are just mostly fake numbers 1. They create fake hype surrounding the entire industry, higher salary players = more hype = more views 2. There are tons of random "leakers" in esports saying 2M 3M buyout for a player are mostly just people paid to hype up the industry
