Been doing the paleo diet but doing a little bit of cheating having a bit of sugar contained in things the past week but I've gone from 174 to 164 in a month and a week. My goal weight is 155. I have been skipping meals and having some snacks instead because i just dont feel like cooking any food because most things need to be actually cooked on the stove not just microwaved or whatever do your own calculations metric users metric-conversions.org/weight/pounds-to-..

Let me say something that will sound crazy... Calorie deficit with any foods that you like.
2020-04-06 08:04
yeah and you ll lose tons shit of muscle becoming skinny fat
2020-04-06 08:10
Well im assuming OP doesn't lift, so it shouldn't matter? But still, balanced diet with adequate protein > keto, paleo, vegan, etc.....

+1 if you're trying to get healthy and not just lose some weight it makes no sense to cut out healthy foods like fruits and vegetables

you can still be in a deficit getting all the fats, carbs, proteins for building muscles, and when you want to be huge go into a surplus.
2020-04-06 08:59
He said calorie deficit with any foods that you like, implying junk food i guess. I know that you can get all the nutrients you need to while in a calorie deficit.

wasting calories on sugar or being hungry from not making good food choices and eating addicting food choices are sure a good way to lose weight ))) I am stationed in America you know
2020-04-06 08:16
First of all, I never said: eat sugar or addicting foods solely, or at least didn't mean to. What I am saying is eat a balanced diet with all macros and include some sweets if u need to, just keep the calories in mind. Second of all, eating a balanced diet is more maintainable than completely crossing out a specific macro. And all the short term weight loss with a specific diet such as keto or paleo will most likely be gained back in 1 year or so.

Well guess what foods i like are if i had the choice of what i want to eat? Can your eyes see my flag? I cant eat crap then say "oh i exceeded the 2000 calorie mark of saturated fat, carbs, and sugar I'm not allowed to eat anymore for the day" and go hungry. I just need to be able to eat food.
2020-04-06 08:32
I can clearly see your flag but that isn't an excuse to be obese. Cooking at home, keeping track of calories and having maybe something sweet if your calories allow you to.

I'm not obese. But i also dont make very good food choices and if there is unhealthy binge-able food in the fridge guess what might happen some night when i rage quit off a video game
2020-04-06 08:44
So don't fill up ur fridge with that food?

Lets say i buy a box of ice cream because having a sweet every once in a while is okay right? Now i get mad and the box of ice cream is gone. I like microwave processed meals so i need to completely avoid them because they are a binge eating food and the microwave isnt good. Even if there is a good semi unhealthy taco dip in the fridge i could go haywire and binge eat the whole thing. I have tried to lose some weight just by eating the same shit and just count my calories but it just doesnt work for me. Eating a clean diet keeps you fuller for longer. I know this is an extreme example and nowhere close to the same level of this situation but for a drug addict you need to throw the drugs away for them to stay clean. Not leave them sitting in the drawer in reach at any time
2020-04-06 08:56
Sounds like you have an eating disorder? get help maybe? Regardless, hope u stay healthy and at a normal weight with ur diet, that's whats most important at the end of the day. Just saying it might be more enjoyable and maintainable with a balanced diet.

Try heavy lifting, bro. It'll burn ur fat so much and create muscles instead of only diet. I've lost 12 kg (25 lb) in 4 months.
2020-04-06 08:04
You don't really lose much fat from lifting...

have u tried high intensity interval training (HIIT) urself?

"heavy lifting" does not entail HIIT tho.

I dont like lifting. Too much work and i can never push myself to the cardio limit because my muscles are not able to keep up. From doing a lot of pullups i have gotten to the point where i am able to push myself to the cardio limit instead of just the muscle limit which is nice

I lost around 12-15 kg doing cardio/weight lifting and eating non fried regular food for 2 months. If you're in a hurry to lose some weight, I strongly recommend you include intermittent fasting/snake diet into the mix. You will see results really quickly. Though, you gotta keep the diet for at least a year so you don't bounce back. Fat comes back really easily once you have created the deposits in your body. GL & HF!
2020-04-06 08:06
"Though, you gotta keep the diet for at least a year so you don't bounce back. Fat comes back really easily once you have created the deposits in your body." That alone should be enough for someone to not do this "diet", just do a balanced diet (calorie counting) with adequate protein.

You bounce back with any diet if you go back to your past habits. Change needs to be permanent, and losing weight slowly can be very frustrating and discouraging. Just to finish, those fat deposit cells can last a lot of time in your body, thats why I said a year but it really depends on person to person.
2020-04-06 08:19
That is exactly why you never go on a "diet", it's short term. You will gain everything back in a couple of years or so.

Then i will just stay on a diet of meat, vegtables, nuts, and fruit for the rest of my life. I'm not very strict about being 100% paleo. Its no refined sugar, no dairy, no gluten as the biggest things to avoid. I see the paleo diet as healthy eating for dummies
2020-04-06 08:48
Sure, what ever keeps you from becoming unhealthy and overweight, just saying it might be easier and more maintainable to be on a balanced "diet".

Don't forget to eat enough protein bro, being skinny with no muscle mass is no better than being fat, in terms of looks obv. While you're losing fat you have to minimize muscle loss.

When i joined the military i went from 220 pounds to 160 pounds in 4 months. Then i started going to gym and burned all excessive body fat and still remained at 160 pounds. Now 3 years after leaving the army im 240 pounds. So tip to you all, if you dont plan to workout your whole life, you will be fat again.

Well you lost the weight from a lot of exercise and the skimpy military meals you were probably getting. When you went back home you went back to the old eating habits

Yes. But i kept going to gym still. Problem was that at military we had 10km jogs every morning, + all the combat camps etc. Keeping up same pace as a civilian, while working 10h per day is kinda impossible.
2020-04-06 10:20
Went from 138 to 127 by doing nothing.
