I work in urban planning and I had a project with 2 Turkish architects and worked on Turkish public building policies for 1 and half year. When you dig in official public documents it appears that on many (most?) projects the different public authorities agree on overpriced contracts with big construction corporations. Not only these contracts are oversized/overpriced, they also skip the most elementary control and technical feedback and evaluation of the construction projects. In the end for 35 million Turkish Lyra spent you have 15 millions going into the actual building, 5 millions into shady stuff no one is allowed to know what it is and 15 millions disappearing magically. Delays are massive because of all this circus.
And then journalists talking about this problem end up censored or arrested.
Erdogan is clearly defending some big Corp interests instead of the nation's interests and he's making a massive wealth out of it, a wealth built on tax money spent irregularly.
Oh and not even talking about his son in law caught both hands in the honey pot doing oil deals with ISIS.
What are you waiting for to kick out this corrupt elite?
