I've known that for years, good stuff.
2020-04-10 15:21
yes its very good. only metal elitists will shit on lamb of god and call them "metalcore" or something. but lamb of god is one of the best modern metal bands and they are more "groove metal" like pantera than "metal core". they are even a bit thrashy aswell.

Lmfao LoG are filled with matalcore riffs. And actually they make a mix of groove metal and metalcore. AND jfyi being called metalcore isnt a bad thing like at all. Yes people associate the name with bands like asking alexandria or bring me the horizon, but neither actually are metalcore. Thats bands like Botch, Convverge, Integrity etc.
2020-04-10 15:27
sure LoG have a couple of riffs that could be considered metalcore. but thats hardly their main genre. except for their way of writing breakdowns, what is metalcore about their riffs? they write very groovy and thrashy riffs.

Please kindly explain to me how theese LOG songs are not like theese metalcore songs. LoG Metalcore

Yugoslavia seeeed
Also more songs by LoG with heavy metalcore sound Along with basically everything on their first 3 albums + some songs here and there on the latter albums
2020-04-10 15:43
i dont even know what metalcore is anymore. when i hear lamb of god and the songs you linked i hear so much pantera influence and groove metal style. the drums and the riffs are so much like pantera. and some riffs and drum beats are very thrashy almost slayer style when it comes to lamb of god. the integrity song i cant see how thats even metalcore. if metalcore really is hardcore like Refused but a bit heavier then i get why those songs you linked are metalcore sure. but the bands that i have seen labeled as metalcore do NOT sound like that. metalcore bands as i know them would be like trivium, killswitch engage, bullet for my valentine. those are also the bands ppl compare lamb of god too.

Yes, because those bands are "mellodic metalcore" basically metalcore which is now heavily influenced by swedish mellodic death metal. Priamrily at the gates. Killswitch Engage are practially one of the first bands of the genre. Which only really started in early 2000s whilist metalcore has been a thing for like 10 years at that point. I highly reccomend looking at this site and seeing the info about the gernes.
2020-04-10 15:48
Yugoslavia seeeed The most famous song from the most famous ATG album and you can hear these riffs all over melodic metalcore
2020-04-10 15:49
yes i know about at the gates ofc. but i agree, if bands like converge is the real metalcore than sure LoG is quite a bit metalcore aswell. but when ppl talk about metalcore i hear 99% of the time ppl mentioning trivium and bullet for my valentine. also spirit crusher by death has that riff i think every "melodic metalcore" band, as you call it, has been influnced by:

Both of those bands are indeed melodic metalcore though both are also heavily alt-metal and trivium brings in some thrash metal on top of that
2020-04-10 15:55
Maybe it's because I don't spend much time on the internet on music or guitar forums anymore, but I've never heard anyone describe LoG as metalcore before. When I think of metalcore bands, I'm thinking KSE/BFMV/Trivium/etc., and to me Lamb of God have a totally different sound to that.

only 250 ratings because no one else is sane enough to listen for more than 30 seconds and dont even bother to rate it edit: i thought you were talking about the first one, mb

Darkspace 1 the album the song is from has 1420 ratings. Which is fairly good for a black ambient band lmfao.

Also Im Wald has only 250 ratings because the album was not released officially and only way to get it is to speak with someone who got their hands on one of the 50 usb sticks which the band gave out at a listening party. Or look for the leak. It took me about 3 hours before i got my hands on it
2020-04-11 16:12
Yo man this is insane. BM is by far my favourite genre of metal btw ty for new band :D

The instruments feel heavily watered down and the mix of them is so quiet. Dont like the vocals either
2020-04-11 16:01
Yeah, Lamb of God are a great band. Haven't followed them closely in the last few years, but Ashes of the Wake and Sacrament were two fantastic albums. Check out Pantera, Sepultura and (particularly early, i.e. 'Burn My Eyes'-era) Machine Head if you want a similar sound. Personally I prefer melodeath, but the more simplistic and raw sound that these bands bring are great too.
2020-04-10 16:12
i love pantera simplicity is a good way of describing it imo, some of the stuff i see true metalheads link idk its just too much going on for me to appreciate this is clean fast and hard
2020-04-10 21:01
God, I fucking hate metalheads. Can't have a single metal thread without arguments about bands and which bands are which genre.
2020-04-10 21:02
its the same with most genres that aint mainstream tbh

That happens in other communities. Idk but if you tried to tell someone that Miles Davis makes future funk your probs get shit on by jazz fans a lot

Metal heads, rap heads and classic rock purists..
2020-04-11 16:46
At least the majority of rap heads can agree on which artists are considered influential and the "best". The genres are also well defined. Yes, I do realise metal has a lot more sub-genres and crossover of genres.
2020-04-11 21:28
Depends bcuz u have all them putting legend status on ppl like XXtentacles nipsey n mac..
2020-04-11 21:31
Yugoslavia seeeed
Metal has fairly well defined genres tho. There is no real place for actual confusion. Annd everyone can agree to a degree who was influential 🤔 And whos the best is a subjective thing. People argue about that in all genres
2020-04-11 21:37
I agree, but with the sheer amount of genres and the overlap they have, there is a lot of argument about which genre this band is, what genre is this album, which genre is this specific song. No one can seem to agree that there can be multiple influences.
2020-04-11 22:46
Yugoslavia seeeed
Eh, i guess its because i dont really keep up with metal comunity and only see it through the discussions on rym, but there seems to be fairly good way to argue the genres and influences. Like MOST tags are fine. Tho then there are the bands which are tagged with powerviolence when in reality they are just grindcore with Converge riffs and sound nothing like powerviolence.
