Is this laptop worth it or not?

I'm buying a laptop with > windows 10 home > 15.6 inch screen > 144hz screen > 8GB RAM DDR4 single channel 2666hz, expandable upto 32 > GTX 1660 Ti 6GB DDR6 > i5-9300H, 2.4ghz base 4.1GHz boost, 4 cores -8 threads > 256 GB SSD, 2 TB HD > 1 year warranty costs 1000$ and I'm in need of good laptop in coming time. Your opinions and is there any better you can think of?

well i mean if a laptop is like really needed then buy it i guess, but i highly suggest buying an actual gaming rig because you could get one 10 times better than the laptop for the same price
2020-04-10 21:40
It is really needed. I'm going college in future.

gaming laptops arent good for college. get some 300-400$ laptop only for school and spend the rest or save for a gaming pc
2020-04-10 21:43
oh no We've all the time in colleges to play. Plus I wanna work a bit on stuff like 3D modelling and gaming stuff. Maybe try some coding but ofc coding doesn't require good specs. Also not like I've the money, my parents will pay ofc.

i got a physics degree using this: intel pentium b960 dual core 2.1Ghz 6GB ram (only "good" thing) gt620m (not even gtx) and a 500 GB HDD, rarely had to resort to big rig for anything other than some fractal modelling, you are good with a 400$ laptop trust me, dont scam your parents

I'm going to do bachelors from Maths+Computer Science integrated

then i would suggest getting some of the high end lenovo thinkpads. they're light, compact and can run most games and projects for school

2020-04-10 21:54
Well, you'd have to go with the P series to actually have a laptop that runs games nicely, but they are mobile workstations, so crazy expensive. :/
2020-04-10 22:07
bro not much cheaper than this. Around 20,000 cheaper which is 300$. I don't think getting 1660Ti over integrated isn't worth 300$.

+1 you will have to carry you 10kg virgin machine to campus with its whopping 3 minute battery and 2 5kg chaarger bricks. just get a thinkpad on ebay for 100$ and spend the rest on a real computer
2020-04-10 21:46
oops I forgot to mention weight 2.7 kg and 11.7 hours battery life people reviews says its gaming battery life is low, otherwise good.

okay, do you have any ebay like stie special for india? you can get chea thinkpads there beacuse they are issued by the 1000s to offices and when they upgrade them they get resold, you might want to look there
2020-04-10 22:39
yep I don't think ebay is available. It always say delivery not available sort of thing.
2020-04-10 22:43
get more ram and ssd . ssd fills so fast with windows update
2020-04-10 21:41
yep I would upgrade on RAM for sure. For SSD, I can't find better laptops. At affordable 1500$ price, 512 GB or 1 TB SSD without HD.
2020-04-10 21:43
if u planning to play alot of games instead of few game then save more money to get a laptop that has more ssd space with 2tb hdd if u can find it but for now if u think u cant save it then u have no choice but to buy it or get the acer 300 helios
2020-04-10 21:46
Nope not many games. I don't like playing open world games like gta witcher. Games like csgo, r6s seem better.
2020-04-10 21:49
upgrade ur ram or u will be one of the indians tutorial youtubers how to fix stutering / lag fix fps sometimes like that
2020-04-10 21:51
ofc ofc
2020-04-10 21:57
bro that shit is overpriced helios 300 laptop with same specs costs almost double lol
2020-04-10 21:53
try lenovo y540 then . i think pretty okay
2020-04-10 21:57
that was also suggested by someone else same specs costs 500$ more

Just buy an individual SSD and build it into your notebook. Alternative get an external SSD and run all games off it, you can take that SSD anywhere then
2020-04-10 22:48
bro😎😎😎 just buy 2 cows🐄🐄 for 1000 dollars💲💲💲, then worship🙏🙏 them and pray for laptop and you will get it ez win!

2020-04-10 21:44
bro 😎😎😎 i love😍😍😍 u
2020-04-10 21:53
depends what you need it for . if is a normal laptop for daily things then its ok
2020-04-10 21:45
its for normal stuff with a bit of csgo and some other not so modern games. I think it can give 200 fps in csgo at normal stretched resolution on low settings.
2020-04-10 21:47
its ok then but if you can maybe upgrade to 16 gb ram

2020-04-10 21:50
lol kk my parents won't even ask me what I'm gonna do with laptop. Also 1000$ in India would cost like 800$ in Europe. Cheaper good laptops aren't going to be much cheaper than this.

you mean 800€ or 800$ = 725€ if its the latter ngl its a very good offer, but i would go for desk+lap as i stated in my other comments, ergonomics of a desktop are a big thing, and a gaming laptop ergonomics are terrible

then its not a a bad offer but you will have to carry a super heavy brick everywhere, battery life will suck, and you wont get any gpu benefit in that 15 inch screen aside from gaming
2020-04-10 22:05
okay then So only bad thing is weight but I will try as most students. Pretty good offer since I checked many other laptops and recommendations.

2020-04-10 22:17
yep that feeling I know. Been using laptop since last year.
2020-04-10 22:18
If you use a laptop as a gaming machine daily it won't even last you the 4 years of college.

Wrong, I have been using my MSI Notebook for the past 7 years until I got sick cause you seem not be able to upgrade it so I went on with a desktop again. I do not regret the notebook, I plugged an external 144hz monitor onto it and it worked extremely smooth. It really depends how you treat your stuff, my Notebook still works fine. the only thing that I had to exchange was the battery once, cause it died after like 5 years. Battery was another 45€ but that was worth it :)
2020-04-10 22:54
Your one experience doesn't change anything lmao, especially since you had to change the battery even if it was only 45$ thats the minimum that will happen.

just take a look at what people say about its cooling system, that's a common problem with notebooks. i'm pretty sure there's a lot of videos of people reviewing diferent notebooks cooling systems.
2020-04-10 22:36
it has turbo cooling. They say it is good and doesn't heat much when gaming, just that fan is noisier in turbo cooling but not noticeable when using headset.

I'd suggest you an external cooler also. The cooling power is not enough in gaming notebooks, even if they say so. Do not trust the publishers on that one :) If you want a long lasting notebook for games, get an external cooler
2020-04-10 22:56
Its gonna throttle harder than a FX-9590
2020-04-10 22:31
elaborate
2020-04-10 22:34
That Intel cpu is gonna be a toaster
2020-04-10 22:39
wtf really? It has turbo cooling and reviews say it doesn't get heated up but fan is noisy in turbo cooling.
2020-04-10 22:42
my friend had a rog strix ''gaming'' laptop with an i7-8750H 6 core, it was really hot, thermal throttled and was really loud.

that's pretty good, but gaming laptops are ugly af imo. I'd never buy them, I'd rather give up gaming if there was no other choice. I'm going to uni in september, so I'll have to buy a laptop as well. I'm thinking dell xps 15, since it's a laptop I'd actually like to use and can carry anwhere, while also being decent for games. (csgo should run on it, which is probably enough for me for uni)
2020-04-10 22:45
ohk
2020-04-11 12:03
for general use is ok i guess. dont waste ur money on laptop if it is for gaming... gaming laptops are trash.(really bad architecture) get a desktop ALWAYS.
2020-04-10 22:46
actually a really good laptop for the price, but install another 8gb of ram
2020-04-10 22:58
yep I was thinking same. Also given that electronic aren't as cheap here as in US or EU, it is very good choice.

2020-04-10 23:01
maybe let me check I'm sure it is 200-300$ more cuz thats the price difference in EU and India on most products around 1000$.
2020-04-11 12:05
actually not yet released in India. They were about to release this year's first quarter but not yet released. Price says it is kinda same but I expected 100$ more at least. Anyways if it release I'm gonna get it.
