dunno really, for me there is a principle involved, i don't want to support a totalitarian country and for sure feel safer using a murican phone with at least a tiny bit of security and privacy verified. sure, backdoors in both probably, but democracy > communism any day

USA is effectively totalitarian. The voters can effectively only vote for two parties, both of which are controlled by Wall Street. All the media is bought by ''special interests'' and all the history is adjusted to fit their narrative. As much as I'd like for China to be communists considering their massive success, they are also capitalists but with a less imperialistic approach than the US. I don't trust either of them, and neither should you.

well I have xiaomi k20 right now and cant complain at all...but I have to say the new SE with its price tag looks really interesting
Honestly the new iphone SE is amazing.
For 399$ you get the authentic iphone look which is 10x better than X and 11 look (doesn't make you a showoff) , touch ID and on top of that it's a compact phone.Has the same chip as iphone 11 , great camera , great performance.
720p display is the only drawback but after using it in my hand it's still a good looking screen.Battery life is good but compared to my galaxy a70 which I used before it's not even close but it can get you through a day.And camera is the best in price range.

+1 although faceid > touchid. i would probably buy the new SE too but faceid is just so much more comfortable

Will buy the 2020 SE in a month or so.

yall see that a new chinese phone has 16 gigs of ram but forget that lil thing that android is not optimized to phones so yeah you need 16 gigs to even run the OS smoothly
while iphones have 3-4 and are working perfectly even if u play games on them if you're that kind of guy (since apps are made for iOS primarily and are just ported over to android)
android devices have support for like 2 months after release, best case is 6 months
battery life might seem great at first glance but look at the display it's paired with - it sucks up that huge battery in no time
yeah you can pay less for a chinese phone if you want to buy a new phone every year which I don't really understand why it's a good thing but you android users must have your reasons
xiaomi is really good for a cheap smartphone, definitly worth it.

I'm using K20 Pro since last summer and I'm in love with it! Taking amazing photos and smooth os. Can't wait for stable miui12 rom!
idk, got 200$ phone and it works perfectly for 3 years now, other phones I had got stolen instead would have lived for 6+ years with no problem, 1 phone fucked with the water, but it was cheap so can buy another...
basically, I can buy 5 very good phones instead of 1 new iPhone and the life span on it is the same, but the catch is I'm gonna have another 4 phones to use..
P.S. seen some stupid comments about buying Chinese phones = supporting China, infact iPhone has a lot of factories across Asia making them, so don't be stupid.....
Both are bad, Iphone is well taking advantage of the fact that Americans don't have much of an potion right now.
