I know one should not expect anything good from the HLTV community, which is in general very toxic, but I will make my point anyway.
FalleN is heavily hated on many threads (called two-faced), even by Brazilians and that makes no sense at all. I will make some points that explain why he is called the "godfather" of Brazilian CS.
1) Like many old school players, he needed to leave everything else in his life behind to invest all his time and money in an uncertain future. He grew up playing competitively at CS 1.6 and was among the first Brazilians to migrate towards CS:GO. He has even quit university after two weeks of study.
2) Back in 2012, the Brazilian e-sport scenario had absolutely no support, specially counter-strike, which is not the most popular game out there. FalleN has put a lot of effort to attract investments and even had to crowdfund the trip from KabuM.TD to take part in their first major! He was the man behind the LG roster and kept them together, motivating everybody not to quit the game, because he believed they would have a bright future together.
3) He created Games Academy and was a major investor at Gamersclub (sort of a Brazilian version of Faceit). Games Academy was a platform that has taught pro-level counter-strike in order to incentivize new talents in Brazil. Gamersclub, as many know, is the strongest Brazilian CS community to learn the game, create new teams, and play tournaments from beginner to pro level. The reason why we have a Brazilian counter-strike scenario is majorly due to FalleN's effort. Even Furia grew up all the way from the bottom at Gamersclub, so it makes absolutely no sense seeing furia fans saying that FalleN has screwed someone's career. Dude, every Brazilian pro respect FalleN a lot, because they know his history and his contributions. As a player, almost everyone respects him as a leader and captain.
I know MIBR sucks right now, I know FalleN need to reinvent his game and so on. He is trying, he works 14h a day, he is MIBR's leader, awper, igl, best fragger, coach and analyst. Actually, he and kngv are the only ones that seem to be trying hard to improve, since fer has recently declared he does not study the opponents and do not know even which tournament he is playing at. And no, he is not the sole reason behind all the recent MIBR kicks, we all know coldzera had a lot of guilt for those kicks, since he was not happy and was the star of the team, everything he wanted was done for him. He even went publicly to declare it was 'impossible to play with someone that does not know the basic of CS GO (referring to felps)'. Felps, by the way, said last week that FalleN is the best captain he has ever played with, so he does not blame FalleN for 'destroying his career' as many loves to cite.
