Power saving mode

Hello dear hltv folks. My pc is very old and I can not buy a new one right now. I’m gonna get married soon, so there is no room for additional expense. Pc was working okay, until one day I turned on, it went on power saving mode. I tried everything below. Please inform if anything I’m missing or any suggestions. It is very annoying to have this problem in quarantine. 1. Tried another monitor with another cable, same result. 2. Removed Gpu and hooked it up on mobo as on board, same result. 3. Removed Ram, tried with another ram on both slots, sane result. 4. Removed bios battery, switched cmos jumpers. Same result. 5. Changed bios battery with even older pc’s battery. Same result. 6. Removed bios battery without putting it back and turned it on, same result. 7. Removed cpu, blow the dust, inserted again. Same result. 8. Removed psu’s cables, reattached. Same result. Please help if any suggestions. I only think of maybe mobo is got thrashed or CPU.

your pc obvoiusly has degrading components and cannot be fixed, your description is vague. nobody in this thread knows why your pc is going into power saving mode so really no solution can be given
2020-05-25 09:49
Yeah maybe trying to understand which component is degraded enough and caused this by trying different methods? That is the point of the thread? Have you think about that?

I think you are getting mad and your entire pc is starting to cease functioning, if you could tell us what type of pc you are using or go to real a forum for real advice???
2020-05-25 12:32
I’m not mad, you are the one who does not understand the point. You can see the components at #10. I know there are people with knowledge here aswell, even if it’s not you.

I have been working with pcs since I was 13 years old and repairing them. if anyone knows about dying computers its me, you provide vague information and no one with actual knowledge is going to waste their time guessing your problem when you won't even say what os youre using
2020-05-25 12:42
Windows 7. But this is probably hard drive issue.

if your harddrive is the issue then reformat it or get a boot disk this solved my pc problems multiple times, or try buying a new hard-drive????
2020-05-25 12:45
Sorry for the typo, not* It is probably hardware issue. I do not even have any vision after I turn it on.

i had this issue recently it is most likely your BIOS or motherboard, could also be a power problem with your supply, you have tried using a different power source? (plugging it in somewhere else)

I have very old psu. The one I have with this pc is as below. pasteboard.co/J9ZPoax.jpg And the old one is as below. pasteboard.co/J9ZOR5Z.jpg I can try it with old one to check if problem is psu, but will it fry my system completely?

try going to windows mobility centre through start menu. there you should find power option like balanced, high performance and power saver. see if it helps
2020-05-25 07:01
There is no vision at all from the moment I turn pc on, it is just power saving mode, monitor light beams on and off.

try plugging your tv into your computer. If it works then your monitor is faulty.
2020-05-25 12:38
Tried, same result.

then its your motherboard if the bios is failing to load, either that or you aren't getting enough power to boot the system
2020-05-25 12:48
I have greenlight on mobo when i plug in. I have very old spare psu but I don’t know if it will fry my system if I plug it in. #33 image of them.

Specs? Does the BIOS show up? Try a completely new CMOS battery Try booting without RAM
2020-05-25 07:31
Nothings shows up. Will try to grab a cmos battery after lockdown is over. I tried booting without Ram, same result. AMD Phenom II X6 1055 T Processor KINGSTON HyperX 4 GB 1600Mhz RAM x1 Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 TI 1GB GDD SEAGATE 500 GB HDD ASUS M5A78L-M LX AMD 7 Motherboard

I have heard that sometimes old systems don't boot up with a weak battery. If that doesn't work then it most likely is a PSU or MoBo Problem.
2020-05-25 07:52
Swapped psu today. Nothing happened.
2020-05-28 18:25
What about a new CMOS battery?
2020-05-28 18:35
I think without booting cmos battery also does not prevent booting pc up. I tried it but it does the same thing. Therefore I do not think cmos batterry is the problem. Also after I tried dozens, I waited on power screen mode, it booted up and bios screen came after my dozenth try waiting on power saving mode 10-20 minutes after turning pc on. It worked perfectly like no problem. But it is random, now I have waited 1+ hour on Power saving mode, bios screen does not show up. I do not know what prevents bios screen. I do not know the problem. My pc just randomly decides to boot up %1 chance after waiting many time.
2020-05-31 15:15
I don't know the problem then could be the motherboard. Also if your PC boots up keep using the PC, don't shutdown, use only sleep mode, that might work.
2020-05-31 15:58
have you tried turning it on and off?
2020-05-25 12:33
Congratulations on marriage. Have you tried turning it off and on again?
2020-05-25 12:41
Thank you, yes I did.
2020-05-25 12:45
>I’m gonna get married soon. What a waste of money, spend your money on pc better ffs.
2020-05-25 12:45
Thank you for the advice kardesh.
2020-05-25 12:47
pc fans work? I think one of your motherboard's capacitor is damaged. you should change your motherboard.
2020-05-25 12:51
Do you know any way to make it sure?
2020-05-25 13:13
you need to change your motherboard, it will cost more money to repair it than buying it.
