First of all, saying something isn't AS effective as something else, doesn't necessarily make it ineffective.
Say u get 45lbs dumbells and do sets to failure, right. That is not AS good as a gym filled with not only more dumbbells but also machines and barbells which u can load up with more weight.
Tell me, which will result in more hypertrophy?
45lbs DB bench 3 sets to failure
225 BB bench 3 sets to failure
45lbs DB incline bench to failure
And yes, you can do more than just DB bench, but i hope ur brain isn't smooth enough to not understand the point?
This applies to legs and back even more.
405lbs squat for like 3 set for example
3sets of Legpress to failure
90lbs lunges for like 3 sets to failure.
What I am saying in a nutshell is, the difference in workload is too big to just change and expect to keep everything.
