So I decides to take my first tattoo this week because I got paid well, what do you think I should know before going? I don’t wan’t to fuck anything up, that’s what I’m nervious about I already know chose my tattoo artist and I know what kind of style/font he uses, i only need a sketch now, For the first tattoo I chose ”under pressure” text, simple, easy and meaningful at least for me.

Hidden from sunlight for 1month? FUCK that sound tough especially now when it’s so starting to be really suNny out here in Finland
2020-05-26 09:38
Sun light is basically burning ink from your skin, and its becoming less contrast and colorful. its not about UV light only, in summer you will be sweating much more than in winter/autum. If tattoo was made in cold period it will be recovered faster with higher quality afterwards. In hot period it will take a bit more time to recover, if its hidden under clother. Just be sure clothes is spacious wide and natural good quality (depends where tattoo is located) Be sure to hide it from UV light, and forget about sauna for 2 weeks at least 😎

Thankfully all saunas closed because of corona so No desire for that but ye thanks for the advice, really helpful! I will keep all that in mind!

Be cool as cucumber. In overall, You wont regret making tattoo. The only disadvantage of making tattoos is that they are addictive 😎👍
2020-05-26 10:01
I never understand tattos just to look nice. U cant donate blood if someone is in need. It look stupid. Like bro u work in fucking corpo 9-5 job why u have fucking valhalla tattoed on your hand. U dont look badass. U look stupid XD. Only tattos i agree with are those who cover scars and with meaning behind it. Not just "i like the show so i tatto fucking viking".

It has a deep meaning behind it so I don’t know what’s the problem i know what you mean and I partly agree but you shouldn’t put me automatically in that category, you can’t just assume that it doesn’t mean anything to me because you don’t know about me and what ive been through, I don’t want anything to go wrong because it will be a piece/part of me so I’m asking for tips
2020-05-26 09:01
Nah nah iam not talking about you. Iam just talking overally about my opinion on tattos. If i ever have a good reason to make a tattoo id do it myself.

Oh, well, then I misunderstood you, in that case I totally agree with you!
2020-05-26 09:10
I mean, for some people it’s just necessary. They don't feel like stopping until there is no space for tattoos. I’m pretty sure it’s an illness

I don’t think it’s an illness I think that’s how some people just express themselves and then they get addicted to it, sound weird but I think that’s the thought behind it.
2020-05-26 09:40
yea its more like addiction.

Exactly, nobody want’s a permanent STAIN, that’s why I’m taking a nice looking text that Imm not going to regret on the future))
2020-05-26 09:11
Tbh men, you might regret it in the future. I have no tattoos currently but, throughout my life, I’ve wanted like 20 tattoos that I thought were “meaningful” and still I’ve completely forgotten all concepts within a year since finding them. Now I realize that I’ve made the “importance” up myself. It meant close to nothing without plenty of context. Maybe this doesn't work in the same way for you, but be careful still

2020-05-26 09:12
I'm planning to have a japanese sleeve, the modern style tho. But I'm saving for nursing school. Idk it's just a thought, no real actions done for it yet.

Yeah it’s actually better if you take your time, i’ve been planning this for about two years now, sound like a good idea!
2020-05-26 09:17
just go for it, you wont regret. Its simply not possible to dislike your tattoos. Its just like to hate your shape of your hand, which is nonsense
2020-05-26 09:28
I won't do that, and find nothing cool, it seems to be fine for the middle-aged and elderly people who are really into it, but not popular amid the young, just saying tho.
2020-05-26 09:38
Idk tho, and i take a bath and shower a lot. So what 2 years max until fade? :(
2020-05-26 09:42
A sleeve maybe is a little excessive, would rather have something little and meaningful for me, and it won't look that bad if faded.
2020-05-26 09:50
tattoos are lifetime. They could only fade and be a blurred after straight 60 years tanning. Even tho i dont think you would survive without getting skin cancer
2020-05-26 09:59
Tattoos fade a little sometimes
2020-05-26 10:03
There is difference between fresh made tattoo and 1 month after but no difference after 5 and 15 years They will never be completely faded
2020-05-26 10:05
2 full sleeves here. Winter/autumn is the best season for making tattoo. Dont be nervous. 1 day tattoo session isnt that bad. I bet you would not feel anything. About tattoo itself, I dont think text is the thing you should go for.

I’m not nervous about the pain I’m nervous about making a bad decision or about the hygiene but are you sure that text is a bad idea? i thought it’s better to start with a text because it takes less ink n shit
2020-05-26 09:28
I think it is. but its up to you As a human you wont be with the same statement, whole your life

Well most important is that it is your choice whether you want text or not. I mean how can people say that text is a bad decision. My though before getting any of my tattoos was: "does this mean anything to me" because if it does, you won't regret it. Secondly, if you get a small text, what's there really to regret, and if you really regret it, you can ask a good tattoo artist to cover it up with something different later on. Feel free to ask any questions about hygiene aswell. I got all of mine in Denmark where the rules for hygiene are quiet high so I know a thing or two :-)

Yeah that’s true and i’ve been thinking about this particular tattoo for years now so i think I’m good to go! I already got some goot advice about hygiene n shit but do you know if using like a jacket or a longsleeve t shirt damages the tattoo or no?

The most important thing is that the tattoo is moisturized all the time for the first 14 days (use cream with no perfume or anything else actually. Panthenol cream is the best). But no wearing a jacket should be no problem as long as it doesn't scratch your tattoo as the tattoo in the start is just one big wound and when it starts to have the "crust" it is important not to scratch this, it will fall of by it self just like a wound.

It is a good idea to have it before getting the tattoo, or buying it on the way home. Buy one with high content of fat. That way it will be moist for longer period and you don't have to put it on 10 times a day :-)

Not going to design of your tattoo, that is your choice. Artist: Is it at a shop and not some guys appartement? Have you seen the artist portfolio. Does the style match what you are looking for? Is it an artist/shop with a good reputation? Have you visited the shop and seen how it looks? Clean, calm and friendly atmosphere. Have you talked with the artist about your design idea? How was the reaction from the artist? If any of the replies to the above make you uneasy or is not at expected, then that artist is maybe not for you. Your preperations: Have a shower before you go. Makes your more relaxed. The area of your body that is getting tattooed might need a shave, do it while you at showering. The tattoist will probably shave the area again. Make sure you are well rested. Have some food before you go. Do not get a tattoo on an empty stomach. Make sure you bring something to drink. Water is the best. Maybe some juice or similar with some sugar. But not red bull or monster. Listen to the artist and ask questions if you have any doubts or there is something that is not clear.

Got a piece of shit tribal tattoo on my right arm when I was a teenager 13 years ago. The tattoo is very well done but tribals are so corny in 2k20 lul. Nevertheless, I still love it. Still not tired of it. I do advice against people getting multiple tattoos though, that shit can get boring really fast.
