For me I see some games as a sort of cinema experience only interactive, that is the one I play once or maybe once and the occasional revisit. Measured in money per hours of entertainment, well then they are clearly not bringing the same value as those multiplayer games you mention. But it is not the same as them not bringing something great - this of course is depending on preference and I suppose the time one has to play games and possible monetary considerations also.
However I gotta say that when I see people just downright dismiss some platform or a type of platform like may here, then I think they are cheating them self out of lots of great fun.
My main platform will always be the PC, considering what it costs to run a top end PC it is debatable if it is the cheap option. Only if there is a multi-platform title it is always better on PC and that is even disregarding mods, something which I think is btw. also a mistake.
