VALVe, CS:GO, and TF2

I love both TF2 and CS:GO but VALVe has basically abandoned TF2 with barely any developers, all of which are on hold and not actually developing anything. There hasn't been a major update for TF2 in over 3 years. Meanwhile, CS:GO gets on around every year sometimes even more frequently than that. It just saddens me that VALVe have basically stopped support on one of the most influential games of the 2000's because they no longer have the ability to support both games.

You really think they dont have the ability to support both? They developed a virtual reality game for shits and giggles.

No, I don't really think so. I just want to believe that they didn't just abandon TF2 to get more money from CS:GO even though that is most certainly the real situation.

tbh i think its better that way, people who are og in the game and still play it might like the idea that nothing in the game has changed, and im pretty sure they still release cases and such

I'm OG in TF2 and I can say that I much prefer when things changed. After all, they stopped updating the game due to low player count but they're lowering the player count because they don't update it. It's a catch-22 situation.

i guess so, valve seem to abandon a game as soon as another starts making more money, when cs started getting 1m+ players on average they finally started giving it more frequent updates.

whats the last good big update cs got. the operations have been shit, dangerzone is god awful, skins are like ok whatever half are from community anyway, gloves were ok, weapon balacing? sure ok thats alright.

I'm not saying the updates are good, I'm just saying that CS:GO *gets* semi-frequent updates. The last major update for TF2 was the Jungle Inferno update that was over 3 years ago.

I'd rather have shit updates over nothing as well but TF2 doesn't get updates that are anything more than bugfixes.
