imagine if we had same prize pool as dota 2.....40 000 000 million, 15 000 000+ for the winner.

Just 1 major win and you can retire for your whole life Probably way too much if a fluke team gets to the top

but the scene would be so much more competetive, not this shitshow with only 1 team who has actually mastered the game in the last like 4+ years (astralis)

Well that's true Back in the days there were so many new teams on majors as I've seen It would definitely make the game more interesting and fun to watch

yeah, whats the point to dedicate your life to a game that has 1mil as max prizepool while other games have 40+. also orgs dont care that much to make an actual winner team keeping bots and letting players decide who leaves who stays
2020-06-12 01:21
there is no evidence for this. prize pool literally doesn't matter considering it's already high

dude, if prize pool was 40mil, then there would be way more orgs trying to get it, now when 1st place prize is like 500k and player salaries are 30k , orgs dont care and just let players do whatever, keeping the team just for image and hoping one day csgo esports blow up and they can profit from having the team. Now even best teams have bots in them simply because they dont want to kick friends and get used to each other and we end up with garbage pro scene with no1 being consistent except astralis. Im pretty sure if prizes were bigger we would see more teams like faze who just make weird international rosters with radical changes (like them buying coldzera) with all 5 players being good and not just getting carried by 1-2 guys

+111 Scene is garbage that is why NA players switching to Valorant because most teams utilizing same players 2-4 years even if there's better players (ChrisJ,flamie best examples) and don't let youngsters came in. But If we'll have one big tourney in cs with 10m+ prizepool and rest will have 1-2m that would create dota scenario where most teams only care about International which is bad as well

imagine more teams like astralis, all 5 players insane mechanicaly and perfect at their role, actually know how to use utility and communications. and all those who say support blablabla, just because player playing support role doesnt mean he can be less good mechanicaly, just look at xyp9x
2020-06-12 02:33
we already have high tier orgs and low tier org wouldn't win, so nothing changes. literally just giving astralis a few more millions and why do we need more org? most people only care about tier 1-2 CS anyway and there are enough orgs for that.

i dont mean there would be more orgs, i mean more orgs would actualy try to win the prize, now orgs just sign a random team to have someone represent their name and i doubt any of them are expecting to get good results, except that COL ceo who kicked the team after they lost some games xd. Just need orgs making more rational non-idontwannakickhimheismyfriend changes and actually form competent teams. the players themselves would be much more motivated and eager to win

thats why you need a good format so if somethine like OG happens its legit

Still dont know why volvo didnt make csgo battlepass like they do for Ti
2020-06-12 01:18

Because there is not much that can be added to cs:go compared to dota, literally no point in battlepass for cs, when volvo can just release new case. All they could add they did in operations.

More money>more hype for plebs>more players will deliver 100% of them>all teams will prepare for each other>Stream production will be better and most important fucking Major will feel special because we have ESL tourneys with same prizepool (1m) per 2-3 month.

that's not true. most watched sports event is the football world cup and most people don't even know what the prize pool is. also fortnite had massive prize pools and CS is still more popular as an esport

esportsinsider.com/2019/08/fortnite-worl.. wired.com/story/fortnite-world-cup-viewe.. 2,3m for new game is not bad, don't u think ? Esports Insider says: There was no doubt that with a $30 million prize pool on the line, the Fortnite World Cup was going to attract big viewership Money=attention=hype

Would not really make a difference. It might even be worse for the scene because it would devalue all other tournaments

Csgo's total prize money totaled about 21 million usd through all tournaments. We may not have an international with an insane prize pool, howeve, we do have a large tournament circuit that is arguably better for viewers of cs. statista.com/statistics/807908/csgo-tour.. Edit, linked wrong stats.
