avoiding tracking on the internet

Tips to avoid tracking on the internet I'm not going to argue because its a universally acknowledged truth that the internet is full of tracking and surveillance here are some good tips to avoid it. - set cookie settings on your browser to session only -use a new search engine (Runnaroo) or a proxy search engine like f*ckoffgoogle.com -disable "security" measures on your device / browser -get rid of windows 10 privacy features using shut up windows 10 -get rid of cortana by using powershell virtuallyinclined.com/2018/02/10/windows.. -stop using google drive and use a decentralized cloud service -check who owns the software you use and try to avoid using closed source programs when there are legitimate free alternatives (open source) -use resources like prism-break.org/en/ -read terms of service before using an unnecessary service / addon -avoid google services or other megamedia things in general -avoid iPhones and limit the personal data you put into tablets, smart phones etc. - if you are really a freak use Debian or another build of Linux. -Set up your own vpn

There is no privacy in Windows. Don't even bother. whonix.org/wiki/Host_Operating_System_Se.. privacytools.io is a great resource. You can also check out old.reddit.com/r/privacy iPhones aren't particularity bad when it comes to privacy. Android with Google Play Serives is way worse: techshout.com/mobile-phones/2018/23/andr.. Most of your tips are pointless or wrong. Outside of your computing, remember to use cash all the time. That's makes a huge difference.

Dunno about the NWO. Personally, I think it's many different actors working independently who benefit from it.
2020-07-10 00:03
possibly, still their intentions are evil
2020-07-10 00:22
are people that paranoid?

The paranoid turned out to be right, while everybody else was proven wrong. That was over 7 years ago. Remember Snowden?
2020-07-09 12:02
no one cares about what you do unless it's some criminal activity. Like, who cares what porn do you watch and what food are you ordering. I dont get it. They might care to give you suitable adds for you which I dont think is a problem.

You have no idea how computers work. They don't have to care to track you, because everything is being tracked, and stored. It became so cheap nowadays that you don't have to make a distinction between people of interest and the rest. Among many others, even Facebook and Google care about what food you order, when, and where. They have scripts all over the Internet to grab your browsing history even if you don't directly upload it to them through an account. HLTV runs Google scripts too btw. And of course the governments are after everyone's data. Have you seen how big the Utah database is? Have you heard about programs such as MUSCULAR for example? Or Optic Nerve, where they hacked millions of webcams and collected the images? Do you really believe it was all millions of criminals?
2020-07-09 12:16
yeah, companies like FB care because of the ads but where is the problem in that? How is that harmful to you? :D webcams are completely different thing though.

I don't care what their motives are. If that data is stored, it can be hacked, leak and become public tomorrow. Computers aren't yet safe enough. It's an still unsolved problem. NSA and GCHQ actually hacked Facebook exactly for this purpose. To get the data. It was in the Snowden leaks, which are now public knowledge, and it's something you could easily research and inform yourself better about if you wanted. Actually, experts say every Fortune 500 company has been already hacked at some point: businessinsider.com/security-mikko-hyppo..
2020-07-09 12:24
I dont care if someone hacks my school projects or my browser history. I dont have anything sensitive or potencially harmful on the internet apart from online banking I guess.

I sense low self esteem. Luckily, not everybody is like you. Privacy is fundamental human right recognised by the UN and EHCR.
2020-07-09 12:58
what does it have in common with my self esteem? :D when privacy is fundamental right then why are information getting leaked and why it should be me who is responsible for keeping my data private?

I don't know, I don't think it should. However, that's the situation right now. The privacy crisis isn't the only problem of today's world, there are others too that are alike, such as the climate change. > what does it have in common with my self esteem? :D You clearly find little value in your life in general and it shows from your posts.
2020-07-09 13:06
I dont have energy for something that is not harmful to me plus I should not even be the one responsible for that Edit to your edit: It's the complete opposite. I value my life and my time probably more than you since I am not wasting it doing pointless things.

You are. Google and Facebook are as big as they are largely because of people's inaction. Even the smallest choices matter. If you start using cash more often, and Signal instead of SMS and convince others to jump on board with you, that's already a huge difference. Linux instead of Windows is a huge task indeed, but not all in the field are like that.
2020-07-09 13:19
just why?

Among other reasons, because it's essential to progress and learning process. Humans should be allowed to experiment, make mistakes and not be judged for it. You weren't born with the knowledge you have now, it was a journey through a bumpy road. It is for all of us. We often fail, and fall. And that's alright. Those mistakes shouldn't follow us for life though, that's not healthy.
2020-07-09 13:16
I think you have too much free time and dont know what to do with it
2020-07-09 13:16
+1 the guy above is paranoid and has completely lost it, no point of arguing.

You are on computer gaming forums. Of course you are going to find people here who have some time on their hands.

Sometimes I do. But these periods don't happen often. When it comes to privacy, once you learn the tools and acquire the knowledge, it doesn't consume that much time on daily basis for you anymore. I can easily imagine a very busy person using Signal or Linux, for example. In fact, I know many busy people who do.
2020-07-09 13:18
what is the point in using inferior services just to not support the superior and mainstream ones?

I don't think they are inferior. It's WhatsApp that adapts state of the art Signal protocol, (with MAJOR security problems however) not the other way around, for example.
2020-07-09 13:22
ok, thank you for clarifying but what is the point

youtu.be/M3mQu9YQesk?t=990 The human and social progress is the point. How do you imagine a major change in law happening if there was no privacy? How would people figure out that maybe it was a good idea if they weren't allowed to try a different approach in private first?
2020-07-09 13:40
It's a problem when Cambridge analytica uses it to rig elections
2020-07-09 13:26
Who cares though? I mean obviously I don't want to get spied but I don't care either. I have nothing to hide my friend

What do you mean you have nothing to hide? You wouldn't post your cellphnens address book here on HLTV, would you?

The address book from your cellphone. You wouldn't share it here, would you?
2020-07-09 15:18
To people calling others paranoid or got nothing to hide, sure that's a valid point but people should have the option to not to be tracked regardless of their activities it's a simple human right. Imagine your next door neighbour just sitting outside your window watching you, most likely you will feel vialated.

Avoid internet, avoid tracking. Ez. VPN + Tor + Linux But they can have all my porn, I don't care enough to switch from Win10 to go full secure and paranoid. if the deep state hacks me, so be it. And Google is nice, always recommends me the things I need huehuehue

You are right. There is no 100% security, never. But you have to start somewhere. When you still want to use the internet, you may use precautions as such. Sure, they all have their weakness. Disconnect. Be safe.
2020-07-10 00:09
Yikes, I bet you don't even have 10k followers on instagram
2020-07-09 14:25
damn there are some really stupid people in this thread. "have all my data, i have nothing to hide". Man who gives a fuck about you? no one, exactly. it has nothing to do with you, you are worthless scum that won't understand whats happening even when its directly in front of your eyes. Just continue living your life with zero thought behind the consequences of giving up essential rights. Children with no imagination, no respect, no idea what is worth fighting for and what isn't. All total losers, go suck daddy googles dick. Hope you are the ones that will be hit the hardest once the whole world is transparent and there is not a single corner left to hide in. hope you have ideas and thoughts that are not compatible with the norms of society then and you will be the ones tortured and killed for your believes you shit losers.
2020-07-09 14:31
People who say i don't care are not thinking ahead. When you let your data get stored by many services, you are essentially increasing the chance of that data being leaked. Let's say you use around 20 websites daily, and you are giving them all your data through their services, if one of them gets hacked and data gets stolen, enjoy seeing your passwords getting leaked and if you are using a single pw in multiple sites, you are basically fucked. Besides that, some of us actually need to care about anonimity, because some governments actually jail you over expressing your opinions on the internet. I know people who were falsely jailed back in the day, and many people still get jailed over their comments on the internet.
2020-07-09 14:50
Stop fucking attacking me. It's not my fault my motivation sucks ass. I can think about it constantly but I can't do anything because I have no sense of fear. Like get off ffs.
