Adana kebab is one of the varieties in Turkish cuisine. The history of Kebab dating back to ancient times. You can even find the good examples in Bengal cuisine and as well as in Greek cuisine (gyros). However European people are mainly under the influence of Turkish doner kebap, which represents only tiny part of Kebab varieties across the world. So don't expect them eating an Adana or Urfa Kebap when they say they are eating kebab, since those are fast prepared shitty food in the streets.
