what does it actually do? is it really necessary? like do you need to burn-in immediately after getting new headphone before doing anything else or you will miss the window kinda shit?

If you want to do it then do it the first thing after you buy them, but i am p sure it doesnt do much with cheaper ones

But anyways i tried it multiple times and never heard much difference. So it may as well just be placebo tbh

"miss the window" nah its just like after like 40-200 hours of listening the signature will change slightly, usually warmer/less sibilant treble It's different for every headphone and some may change in less time. Agree with seeeed I don't think cheaper earbuds/hps have noticeable burn-in.

It's bogus, there's no such thing, it has no effect, its just an urban myth, don't waste your time.

+1 I've worked in different studios with a few bands and sound engineers and even when unpacking fresh materials we never did such thing. On the other hand we did it when we bought our brand new Funktion one but it's different.

why is it different?

Its basically blasting a ton of different frequencies from the lowest one to the highest. And it is supposed to make the headphones sound better.

Meh. I don't think that would've made my headphones stop sounding so flat anyway.

The headphone burn in is not 100% proved in audiophile community yet! So fuck it!
