Currently ESL seems to plan EU and NA facing off in 51 days but is that even posible? The EU just put up a travel ban against americans as they are currently breaking records in terms of corona cases. Many EU countries are also having problems for example my own country has fucked up massivly and are currently prevented from traveling to many countries which could mean both Nip and FNC are not able to make it. Will there really be enough change in 51 days or are esl being unrealistic?

Why so rude?
2020-07-02 21:17
maybe there is a special rule which says NA teams will come directly from the airport to a hotel and they will need to stay in quarantine for 14 days afterwards and when all tests are negative they will be able to participate

i doubt that, since the players are pretty irrelevant. something like this will prolly only be a specialtreatment for diplomats n shit

We in Germany are mostly safe and I dont think that we will have a second corona wave before autumn/winter so there is definitely a chance that we see EU players playing in Cologne, the only chance that NA/Asia player can play here is that they have to take 2-3 week quarantäne before the event starts.
2020-07-02 11:45
2-3 week i thought it was guaranteed 14 days?
2020-07-02 17:54

2020-07-02 11:49

It is possible. Swedish people are allowed into Germany, and into most countries, only a few don't allow us. NA players will most likely go to an accepted country (from EU standards) and stay in quarantine for 2 weeks or more.
2020-07-02 12:18
Lmao imagine u travel to EU, sit in quarantine for weeks and then lose and be last place... What a fucking joke that would be lmao...

There are about 5 different ports only in Skåne with ferries directly to Germany. You can also go from Oskarshamn, Göteborg, Nynäshamn and Stockholm.

2020-07-02 14:10
No way. Nothing will happen this year and possibly next year as well.
2020-07-02 12:32
cologne will happen without crowd and maybe without non EU teams, but it will happen
2020-07-02 12:37
+1 LAN with no crowd (or extremely limited crowd) is looking very likely

maybe have NA in online and EU on LAN?
2020-07-02 14:26
i dont think u will have any indoor lan tournaments anymore this year with a crowd. not gonna happen. football also just opening the stands in august for like only 500-1000 people.
2020-07-02 15:04
It will happen but without BR/NA/RU teams
2020-07-02 15:11
I think CIS teams will find a way to get there
2020-07-02 18:04
i doubt anything will happen this year with a crowd. the risk is just way to high.
2020-07-02 15:41
I really dont see a point why they should do it on lan, players traveling taking the higher risk of getting infected just to play without a crowd? sounds stupid to me.
2020-07-02 15:51
No reason that it wouldn't. They said that Covid would kill 2 million people. 2 fucking million. It hasn't reached anywhere near that, and that is if you take the inflated death count at face value. It has a .03% death rate. People are just too unintelligent to do any research into the stats because the TV told them it was bad. 25% of deaths attributed to Covid are not even tested for the disease btw, and that's public information.
