CS is random
Syria goiL
Everything in cs games is mostly based on luck and timings. If you see the same 2 teams play each other on the same maps in 2 days, the outcome can be very different and it has happened many times before. 1at day wins teams1 2nd way wins team 2 Keep in mind it was the same veto and the same players & maps but the outcome is different, this only indicates how random csgo actually is

isnt it the same with every sport?
2020-07-03 10:43
I don’t know, and why did you even bring up sport here?
2020-07-03 10:44
last 4 matches big vs faze all 2:0 and with mostly the same maps. you are right, but you cant tell it in gerneall for every cs game..
2020-07-03 10:59
+1boxing, one fight the one win one the ther football the same .. 3:0 first game second 0:4 this is in everyteamsport sport where the skill is close to each opther and not pro vs noob just in one man sports like swimming where a master like phelps exists it can change sometimes, or usain blt , but this ha nothing to do with teamsports

im talking 2018, 19 not the beginning of the year where they were in a slump
2020-07-03 10:49
This conversation is not about a particular team but about the game overall. 1 team doesn’t indicate everything. And yet Astralis also had downfalls and have lost to underdog teams in the past, although it’s not the point

ok u are very very stupid if u think that small upsets like that dont happen, theyre normal but astralis was pretty much unbeatable the majority of time
2020-07-03 10:58
You just contradicted with yourself and your initial point, gj

i didnt, i said they were very consistent and pretty much unbeatable, which they were and you would know that if you were watching cs in the last 2 years
2020-07-03 11:00
How are they unbeatable if they lose matches lol

exactly.

It’s been 3 day tho
2020-07-03 11:00
its not "random". obviously a lot of things can happen in a game that depends so much on your choices and your current individual level. there is a luck factor, but you can find this in every sport and every esport. If you see the same 2 teams play each other on the same maps in 2 days, obviously the outcome will be different because these teams learn from eachother. why would you push somewhere if you know theres a high chance someone is aiming for you there

I guess that’s why FaZe lost 0-2 to BIG 4 times in a row, they’ve learned from their mistakes and adapted
2020-07-03 10:53
i'd say there are exceptions.. :D
2020-07-03 11:03
xD good point. BIG most consistent against FaZe confirmed

yeah because the team that lost on day one can analyse what mistakes they made and how the other team played. This information can be used to win on day 2

well FaZe seems not to be good enough: but this thread is about cs being random and BIG raping FaZe 4 times in a row doesnt seem very random
2020-07-03 11:03
exactly. but how can there be (dominant) randomness when there is consistency?
2020-07-03 11:08
Ok, so what's your point?
2020-07-03 10:51
it's true that randomness is a big factor. has always been. the trick is, to manipulate the environment to your advantage. to minimize randomness and take initative. that's what csgo is about. because the better team still (most likely) will win (let's say like 99 out of 100 times). the random factor gets interesting when the players and teams are equally skilled. then it can be a thing. but still, lvl 1 will always loose against lvl 10 no matter what. you cannot take out the skill and executions from the teams. timings can be set up. it's not that easy, you cannot just say it's all random. there are more factors/variables to consider. statistics are interesting here btw. even if the skill ceiling is almost equal, out of 1000 times the better prepared team will win. plus players can have an off day. then it's out of balance and randomness comes in stronger but only because the more consistent team will abuse this. still the more consistent team/players will win. randomness is the strongest, when both teams are the most equal to each other (can be their highest or their lowest point). then funny things start to happen (someone looks away and in this very moment enemy peeks and kills the dude etc.)
