That's right. Just reinforces that slavery should have NEVER ever been a thing. Africa's ancient knowledge, technology and culture would not have been lost and we would not have so much racism and hatred in this world. Africa would not have been divided and fucked and explored to death for centuries, bringing countries to completely unfixable situation. The result of what happened centuries ago is what you see today. They really had potential, even though if they were not living in proper cities with castles. What a sad result of greed and "human ambition". Our planet should be an example of what a civilization should never do. If the early government had been supporting the slaves since they became free, maybe things would be different today and Brazil would be one of the most developed countries in the world, because, come on, the country has more resources than it would ever need to become an absolute superpower powerhouse. Everyone failed, and badly, really badly, and today is the result of that. It just shows that a simple decision from centuries ago can echo centuries, millenia into the future and maybe never be fixed. Just imagine, imagine if the government was supporting the recent-free people and everyone that was needing help, as the country was fucking filthy rich at that time, imagine what you would have become, you, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador... all these former colonies, would have achieved much more than USA. Unfortunately, we cannot go back in time, and see what happened to so many countries that were colonies tears my soul. Why can't people just do the right thing thinking for the best of everyone and nature? My words are contradictory, but I sincerely it is too late to do anything at this point, it will never change, it has no way back. But, you are always 1 choice away from changing everything. Who knows, a good government with actual caring leaders could emerge soon and slowly start to change the country. For example, Brazil's murder rate fell from 30 to 19, that's REALLY impressive. Keep it that way and who knows, in 2 or 3 year it could go down to less than 10. The government is acting more smart on crime now, I see in the news. If things continue like that, there will be hope for you.
If you are not happy in Brazil, move to another country man, I'm sure most people would welcome you. I also live in a terrible shithole somewhere else, TERRIBLE, but if I was in a developed country and had a business, you would be welcomed as a family member. Start early so you can also move early. Try to apply to a scholarship somewhere, your English is great. New Zealand, although isolated, would be great for you with lots of nature, same to Canada. Seek your dreams, my friend. Advice for you because it is already way too late for me to do any of that.
Sorry, I write a lot because my country is in a similar situation, very depressed because of it. Gang killings, shoouts, beheadings and disappearances, corruption... we are on the same boat and I see no hope anymore to be honest. But your intelligence agencies are acting REALLY goddamn fucking smart and totally dismantling organized crimes in some places slowly, so things are advancing. Stay positive my friend, there is light at the end of the tunnel for you. As for my country... the story is different, we are completely doomed to eternity in this place. Cheer up, my friend. <3 <3 I will be back to Brazil someady and visit those 2 beautiful cities again, it's like alpine Europe in a tropical country. That is, if I do not die in this pandemic because of my irresponsible family and we are all in the risk layer. See you.
