How would you rank teams by their highest peak ever? Imo its: 1. BIG (2020) 2. Liquid (2019) 3. Astralis (2018) 4. fnatic (2015) 5. EG (2019) 6. Navi (2020) 7. Envy (2015) 8. NiP (2013) 9. LG (2016) 10. Cloud9 (2018 major win) Thoughts?

not sure this is the right question, every team peak was when they won their best tournament, i would rather ask myself which team had the highest peak in terms of performances, if so I think Astralis, Fnatic and SK had the highest peak

How can a Russian be a shame to his nation when he shits on a Ukrainian?
2020-07-06 13:21
I dont know....but thats what usually happens when ukrainians or russians dont think s1mple is best player and navi the best team, they get called traitors pretty often lmao
2020-07-06 13:37
There's a HUGE difference between not thinking someone is good and completely hate-shading someone. Only cus i dont think a player is good i dont have to run around screaming ''lmao fking baiter, 0 majors and will never win, never gonna reach #1'' etc etc, I can still anknowledge his skills. Hate is such a retarded thing to do, it can ruin stuff in so many, many ways.

Liquid 2019 (especially Chicago) and NaVi 2020 (Katowice) come to mind. Never seen teams destroying top opposition this hard. Astralis 2018 honorable mention.
2020-07-06 11:33
pretty stupid imo. you could probably put astralis on all 3 positions. they have multiple tournaments where they havent dropped a single map and in the vast majority of matches didnt even allow double digits. navi barely got to the playoffs of katowice. liquid have dropped a map at chicago.

Finland HARD4ENCE
NaVi got to the playoffs of Katowice and 2-0:ed everyone, including Astralis, 16-5 both maps as I recall. Not here to undermine Astralis but in 2020 they are by no means invincible when the other teams are finally starting to get their shit together.
2020-07-06 15:13
yeah. and they barely got to the playoffs. lmao are you really trying to doubt astralis? the reason they dont have as much success is just because theyre simply nowhere near where they were, not because the teams are better.

Yeah teams surely aren't better... in 2018 NaVi played with 2 +30 year old bots in Zeus and Edward...
2020-07-06 15:18
so? they were still way more consistent and better than this navi. s1mple was in prime form, electronic was even better than right now. flamie was a good player. edward wasnt a total bot and couldve had some use.

You're welcome to watch IEM Chicago 2019 final against ENCE that was top 5 team at the time. 3-0:ed most dominant fashion I've seen. I think the maps ended like 16-2, 16-3, 16-14 or something. This discussion is about PEAK, not for how long it lasted. Liquid had a solid summer run though.
2020-07-06 13:32
Lmao 16-14 dominant.. nice delusional. Also you're welcome to watch astralis destroying literally every team in 2018 in the most dominant and clinical fashion. Nt buy too much delusion

Ahh ESL New York 2017, one of the most dominated t1 events ever. Faze didn’t drop a single map nor let the other team get over 10 digits. That’s what faze was supposed to be.
2020-07-06 15:28
yeah they would be higher if they won more tournaments and were as consistent as liquid in their run for example

2020-07-06 13:52
I feel like Faze's peak was much higher it just didn't continue as long. Liquid had like 3 weeks more of top 1 than Faze. But have you ever seen an event that felt like ESL new york 2017? Holy shit it looked like faze were playing aimbotz and just not giving a shit. I feel like new york 2017 Faze > everyone except maybe Peak Astralis but it would still go 3 close maps.
2020-07-06 13:24
imo longer time in dominant peak>being very dominant in a short time, but they were dominant af in this esl,sad that they couldn't keep it up and win a major
2020-07-06 13:32
Lets be real, if you are talking about peaks of teams, you are talking about their performance at the highest point. Not how long it lasted. You want to identify which team was the strongest at their peak. Not which team had a longer peak. I do wish NiKo and Karrigan didn't choke hard in Boston :( Would have been Olofmeister 3 majors :( Guardian 1 :(((
2020-07-06 13:34
its my opinion, you can think they were more dominant than 87-0 nip(wich i think that was the most dominant team in cs go,but there were weaker teams in their era,so they don't make my top 3) i'm a niko and olof fan,i wish faze had a major in their prime:(
2020-07-06 13:40
Who is talking about dominance? Can you not read, the thread is about "HIGHEST PEAK EVER" No one is talking about dominance.

1. Na'Vi (2020) – the way they played for those 4 days, especially against Astralis and G2. That was legit destruction. Clear #1 2. Astralis (2018) – self explanatory 3. Liquid (2019) – self explanatory Hon'ble Mention: BIG (2020) – It doesn't feel right giving them a spot, since it's online, and BIG are known onliners. But still, crazy stuff. ***Keep reducing year by year to be honest. The skill cap increases every year, and considerably. A peak in 2015-16 is simply not close to a team peaking in 2018-19, that's how it is.*** So, in loose order: C9 Boston SK 2017 FaZe 2017 Luminosity+SK 2016 Fnatic 2015 NiP 2013
2020-07-06 13:34
Maybe liquid > Na’Vi Idk But Astralis liquid and Navi Blast-IEM Top 3 for sure.

2020-07-06 14:00
Should probably swap but BIG is facing much harder opponents right now than astralis did back then imo.
2020-07-06 15:47
man idk, it's all online and many of the top teams are simply inconsistent rn Navi: S1mple and Elec need to carry hard Vitality: Zywoo can't really have an off-game (unless 3 others are playing well) g2: KennyS choking a lot (he needs an esports psychologist man) FaZe: No igl Fnatic: ultra inconsistent, in one day they'll look like the best team on earth, in the following day they'll lose to random ass godsent Big is the only consistent team rn (don't get me wrong, they're very good, just not facing prime opponents rn)
