Capablanca pls
2020-07-07 20:39
he is shit tho lazy, constantly butthurt asshole, and woman abuser.
2020-07-07 22:13
Are you sure you're talking about the right person?
2020-07-08 01:55
Sure. I watched a couple of old documentaries about Capablanca's persona and he is a total ass. For some reason, most famous GMs have horrible personalities (Tal had like 3 wives and cheated on each one, Fisher is literally nazi and into conspiracy anti-jew theories).
2020-07-08 03:28
I don't know how you could call Bobby a nazi since he was Jewish

No it's that kids can't appreciate a game made for patient and smart people.
2020-07-07 20:52
Smart people don't waste their time sitting around and moving their hand for few hours a day. How much money you made from chess ? Exactly. Smart people like me have real hobbies like rock climbing, drone photography & videography, video & photo editing, paragliding, sailing and many other things.
2020-07-07 20:56
You can say the same about pro CS...

Keeping your hand steady for a few secs doesn't pass as a hobby any more than chess. Video editing is the same with you sitting in your ass
2020-07-07 20:59
Before I sit on my ass and edit stuff I actually go out and do the actual shooting for whoever I work and I get paid for this and I'm happy that I have a side hobby that can generate money and I absolutely love it
2020-07-07 21:04
how much money did you make from rock climbing, sailing or paragliding? oh yes 0 you actually lost alot of money

I really like Grischuk, but not because of his playing style but rather his honest personality that he shows in interviews. When it comes to actual chess he doesn't seem to be much of a fighter, just drawing a lot in important tournaments and commenting that there wasn't much to be done anyway. While i can't dispute whether there were chances to win in a particular game, his tone is indicating to me that he isn't much of a fighter like i said

Everyone loves Grischuk for the same reasons aha, and I would say that he doesn't look for draw, but his repertoire is rather narrow and being often down on time, he's either better from thinking long (which happens not so often) or he has to fight for a draw where a player with more time would give it another shot
2020-07-07 20:58
yeah i completely forgot the aspect that he is often low on time. in this case it's almost impossible to find a win and he has to be satisfied with a draw, i don't know him very much but i don't think my guess will be wrong if i said that him thinking a lot on the moves that leave him not much time changes the game that much

He said the main reason regarding his time management was procrastination lmao
2020-07-07 21:44
yeah despite it being strange i can't say it surprises me that much... he just looks like he doesn't care that much, but of course i can only judge from interviews, i don't know him, there may be just a language barrier

Sicilian defense against standard opening. Haven't played much recently Well... I only know Karpov and Gasparov. I have to say Karpov because Gasparov had terrible speech one year in Nordic business forum even tho he is THE chess player.
2020-07-07 20:57
Not knowing Scandinavian legend and the best player in the world, Magnus Carlsen, means you're either retarded or fakeflagger.

they probably think Hikaru is better than him
2020-07-08 14:21
Only couple of players like Alekhine, Tal and Kasparov were as creative as him. Hikaru is definitely one of the strongest gms in the history of the game but i dont think he is at that level. Todays gms play the book moves and the games are usually drawish. No one wants to lose and everyone is ok with draw. I think this is where the gms from 60s 70s were so much much better than todays gms.

Spanish 1200, just recently started playing, i feel like i hang a lot of pieces and have a hard time checkmating with low time, so i can not always convert a winning position. I like Tal and Morphy quite a lot. MVL and Ding Liren.
