Failing studies
Sweden m4st4m4st3r4wp
I started studying the civilengineering program in interaction design last year and i have failed so hard. I passed 3/8 courses. This summer i have the opportunity to fix 3 of those failed ones. These are calculus 1 and 2 and programming with c and matlab. How do i keep my motivation up and study during the summer and not give up? For those courses there are 5 different exams i have to redo. It all just feels hopeless...

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
just imagine how disappointed your entire family will be if you fail, that always helped me.

What do you have to do in C exam?
2020-07-09 12:22
My first C exam was on paper. A lot of syntax specific stuff and "What will this print out?" type of stuff. Longest one was like writing one page of code on paper (some function to fulfill some predefined purpose). Imagine writing that and then u need to add line in between

I just graduated but it was probably way easier than what you do so I cant help. But I guess if you dont feel motivated to learn the things then why would you even bother wasting your time there?

I had the same, I thought I finally found exactly the study I wanted to do, only finding out later that it wasn't. I passed 3/8 courses, and just couldn't find motivation to do anything about it. I quit and chose a different study, which now actually perfectly fits me, passed all the courses with above average grades. It's easy to study for exams etc because I like the subject. Just ask yourself if this is the study you want to do for 3 years. If it is, you gotta start working hard, otherwise you can try again in a study that suits you better!

I wouldnt say no hope, but would be very difficult, caluculs for engineers should be chump change

I don't want to sound pesimistic but without excellent calculus he will also fail numerical analysis and physics, which are difficult in themselves, not even talking about learning 'em without basic knowledge. Perfect calculus is mandatory to stay alive on engineer courses.
2020-07-09 12:36
We have 0 physics on this program and numerical analysis is an optional course the last 2 years.
2020-07-09 12:53
Problem is i barely tried. I had almost 0 motivation during calc 1 and 2.

Do things where you have motivation, dont study only because your family wants it, do what you want not what others wants, wtf study in 2k20 lmao biggest scam lolol, forget about colleges and universities, its bullshit, my brother spent lots of money on this shit, 5years of his life, and now he doesnt even know where his diploma, its biggest waste of time and money
2020-07-09 12:31
Did he pay full price all those years? Damn. I wouldn't bother studying if I wasn't in government funded position
2020-07-09 12:37
I don't know all the details, but i know that he paid 40k Litu. I don't know what he was thinking, stupid man, but now he started his own business and makes good money, he said that better he would put this money and 5 years into business than studying.
2020-07-09 12:41
people still study in universities ? why ? you realize it won't get you anywhere right ? ditch it and get work experience
2020-07-09 12:35
what if he has work exp?
2020-07-09 12:41
Then he should obviously work, no one cares about degree these days
2020-07-09 12:41
Are u crazy? In sweden its the other way around.
2020-07-09 12:46
Completely wrong. 3 of my family members proved the opposite.
2020-07-09 12:47
if you want to work at kfc than thats true, any good jobs in europe require a degree/good grades minimum and if you dont have those, someone who does will get the job
2020-07-09 16:32
Ah yes, the classic ''studies are useless'' bullshit argument. Except without them you can forget about getting a better salary and advancing in companies. Some people unlike you still have ambitions regarding their jobs.
2020-07-09 12:45
I have 8 people under my belt and they work for me, I get around 40% more than them and I am younger and don't have a degree, you can work your way without degree, knowing people is more important then your useless 4 year degree where you were sitting like a puppy and listening to some old fart
2020-07-09 12:55
1. No self-respecting company employs people in fields like IT without finished uni. 2. Never said having contacts is not important. But it's completely unrelated to working your way there. In most companies asslickers advance way faster than people with actual achievements. 3. You can both work and study.

the vast majority of people who go to university are better off, if u remove the retard degrees nearly all would be better off so i can never understand why people say this...
2020-07-09 12:50
Imo you should just give up and start over in different field of studies.
2020-07-09 12:51
CALCULUS ? NO THANKS IM A OUT RIGHT OUT
2020-07-09 12:54
stay off hltv or don't go to college cause it's a scam

Motivation to C: 1. Code first time in university 2. Do your best to learn basics of C (buy some dev board in home and do some simple project) 3. After C and couple of other courses jobs other courses get a summer job at a embedded systems development company 4. Continue some C / C++, signal processing, kernel, algorithm, embedded stuff in Uni to get some principles in embedded coding. 5. Continue working during school 6. get hired full time cos C coders are needed so much 7. Get 32k a month for doing things very lazily cos no1 else knows how to dev embedded in the company (or people retire) 8. Buy expensive DJ equipment with your C money 9. After few years start a career as a DJ (32k/month + BJ's) You are welcome

idk if this helps , but i am also failiing my studies, and i found calculus not that bad. you only need to find a method of study. Math is like folowwing a recipe dude, you can do it my man!
2020-07-09 13:15
Thanks man. Im really trying to keep my motivation up. But even harder to do it during summer.
2020-07-09 13:30

2020-07-09 13:35
