Sure, but it is a long story...
Here in Brazil, spiritism got really popular because of a brazilian medium. He was called Chico Xavier, came to psychograph over 400 books (every spirit author with a different type of writing), lived in the last century and was especially known by his life dedicated to the psychographs. He had a really humble life, with only few luxuries, even though he was one of the most famous guys in Brazil those times.
Chico was born really poor and, with only very few studies, he wrote, almost alone, lots scientifics, futuristics, and medicinal books. Because, mainly, of these books, he was known for predicting the future.
One of the most famous ones is Nosso lar (Our Home, in english). It is a romance written by the spirit known as André Luiz (it was his pseudonym), also known in others Chico's books by writing the medicinal stuff (as well, there are some medicinal predictions that have been proved years after some of his book realeases). Anyway, in that specific one, he describes how the world is, in his vision, after death. The book was realeased in 1943, but already had accurates descriptions of, for exemple, a cellphone: he says that most of people where he lives has a personal communicator with a thin screen of distance image visualization.
Well, years after this book, near the 60s, a young guy named Waldo Vieira, also brazilian but with lot more studies (he was studing medicine in the
beginning) started to help him with his works. They wrote, together, including from André Luiz, some books in a separation distance bigger than 300 kilometers from each other.
Besides that, Chico Xavier used to say that he was going to die in a happy brazilian time, as a way of not causing too much sadness. He died in 2002, in the exact same day Brazil was soccer world champion again.
Waldo Vieira, on the other hand, died in 2015, in mid of the construction of a group parallel to spiritsm. In it, he used to say that the spiritism was bad constructed, making a lot of critics about it. He used to affirm that spiritism got too much involved to the Christianism. Also, he criticized much of chico's attitudes (for exemple, about his will of being considered a saint). He also criticizes the representation of Jesus in spiritism, in order to also criticize the way Kardec built spiritism. Waldo, dedicated most of his life studing the astral projections, phenomenon few studied in spiritism, but for me, the proof of likely most of the things I said. Everything Waldo's group claims has the scientific way of thinking.
Well, some people I know from it are the most inteligent guys I've ever met. One of then was my math and physics professor, formed by IME, the second hardest militar university to enter in in South America (Maybe, I would say, the second hardest engineering college to go in in the entire America) .
