Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
maybe a bit, but it's vvay overblovvn as far as ive seen
2020-07-14 00:54
What is overblown? The brainwash?
2020-07-14 00:55
yes, other then the gender studies courses vvhich are just overboard, i dont knovv of any indoctrination
2020-07-14 00:57
but are you a college student though?
2020-07-14 00:58
no but i havent seen anything about indoctrination since like 2015
2020-07-14 00:59
#3 and #10, people that are currently studying at American universities say otherwise though. I think I will have to agree with them on this one
2020-07-14 01:00
kind of pushing #10 for some examples, kinda curious
2020-07-14 01:02
If you go to college in the United States, you would understand. Colleges are so different from reality. At most universities, you are treated as though you are back in pre-school. If you bring up a conversation in class that is even remotely controversial, you are simply told "you are wrong" without any form of debate or discussion. Naturally, teachers, as well as young people typically lean towards liberal ideology, therefore, colleges and schools in general are a hot spot for extreme bias.
2020-07-14 04:57
99% of college kids have no clue what they believe or what they're saying in the first place and I went to college, I don't know what college you went to but mine you were allowed to ask questions and speak your mind. problem is, no one really knows what they're talking about when they're 18-22 years old.
2020-07-14 05:01
Its worse than that, they are taught to be so open minded that you can almost teach them anything.
2020-07-15 09:30
college needs a 'Real Life 101' course and it should be mandatory for every degree lol
2020-07-15 15:40
Most all courses in Sociology, Criminology, Env. Science, and History are 100% doctrinated and biased. Not that they are all BS, but they certainly have an agenda.
2020-07-14 01:01
they have an agenda of diversity from what ive seen, its all mostly legit information, but the collection is just way overboard, too much of one thing when there are far more important things to learn
2020-07-14 09:38
0/8
2020-07-14 06:31
Well given many professors willingly call themselves marxists and its a much higher percentage than the general population id say it is indoctrination.
2020-07-15 07:42
a demographic made up of more liberal people on average will have more marxists then rural Oklahoma this definitely isnt a viable metric by determining indoctrination "many", like, 5%? 15%? the majority? what am i supposed to do with this statement from the examples ive been given, there's not anything wrong with the information on its own, its just that there are better things to be learning then the experiences of trans women or the hard lives of working mothers. In UNIVERSITY, that kind of thing just isn't necessary in such large numbers
2020-07-15 09:11
In social sciences its about 24% describe themselves as marxists, they also teach Marxism actively, they make you learn it, but they tend to not teach the harm it did.
2020-07-15 09:13
really interested to see where this is comming from, especially that 24% number, because that would definietly constitute a problem but for the record, there's a very big difference in teaching Marxism and advocating for it
2020-07-15 09:14
They seem to advocate for it in a large number and its clear to see why, its a "utopian" idea, and if you are high in trait openness and compassion it looks attractive but the results are not. academia.org/self-identifying-marxist-pr.. econlib.org/archives/2015/03/the_prevale.. Jordan Peterson did a good talk on this but i cant find it, we know that marxist so the extreme left out number standard conservatives.
2020-07-15 09:23
Id argue identifying as a marxist is kinda advocating for it if you are a professor as you should identify with objective fact.
2020-07-15 09:20

2020-07-14 00:56
As someone currently enrolled in an American public university, yes. There are several required classes at my school mainly centered around liberal viewpoints. Subjects like history, English, but just with a liberal bias applied to it. I just laugh it off, but a young person coming into college with no prior political viewpoints could easily be persuaded, or "brainwashed" by it. I would not classify it as very "radical", however.
2020-07-14 00:59
vvhat kind of political vievv points? do they just not align vvith your vvorld vievv or is it like explicitly antiamerican?

In my English class our entire course was based around a book that included a bunch of liberal content about gender, sexuality, race, etc. Here's a pic of one chapter of the book for context: i.gyazo.com/286309411e69ee1ab48faf9d40d1.. In history when learning about civil rights/gay rights/women's movements my prof would always relate it to current day and tell us how Trump & Republicans are evil and undoing all the civil rights work. I had an entire first-year seminar class that was almost exclusively about teaching diversity and inclusion, etc. Not terrible, but I remember at least one class was entirely devoted to having a class discussion about white privilege. Not outright indoctrination, but just passively pushing liberalism on students.
2020-07-14 01:10
I would argue that forcing you to pay for a class that tells you what you should think (and grades you based on how you answer) is not very passive
2020-07-14 01:52
i vvould argue that's vvhat all schools do, colleges just have more controversial content
2020-07-14 02:47
sounds more like a problem of over-saturation then it does outright propaganda, but there's obviously a "diverse" agenda here -- if that even means anything. I don't really have a problem vvith any of this individually, but the sheer volume of it is kind of shocking atm there's a bit of a trend in history of focusing on women and LGBT issues more then they otherwise would vvarrant, but hopefully that's something that we'll move pass vvith time interesting thanks for allaborating
2020-07-14 02:54
Always funny to see you baiting in these threads, leftists like you are hilarious in how stupid you are
2020-07-14 01:10
i mean its a fact that europe and the usa vvere explicitly abusive to basically the entire vvord the seperation of gender and sex is also very vvidely excepted im just curious to vvhat they mean by "biased"

I think they mean politically biased in that universities push information based on a liberal standpoint and not from a neutral view. This would make students think more on the left of the political spectrum and think that the left is better than the right. For example, lots of classes in universities push content on gender and race and stuff like that have a lot to do with liberals and their views.
2020-07-14 03:00
Very cool dude. Yuri Bezmenov was right apparently. The Soviets couldn't conquer USA from the outside, instead they conquered it from inside. Of course that was obviously with the help of some American political figures.
2020-07-14 01:12
how are history and english biased like do you even go to uni or are you baiting

They can be biased depending on who teaches them and if that person decides to teach from a neutral stand point. By the way, history is biased a lot of the times. There is a saying that history is written by the victors. Those who are in power create the rules and the past. Just read the book Animal Farm. For example, when the topic of WW2 arises, most people would just say Nazis bad, Allies good.
2020-07-14 03:03
he is right, but he exaggerates. there are schools like UChicago which are anti ‘safe-space’, which I think is the correct position to take. This particular school’s administration is unfortunately very arrogant about these opinions, and will not shut up about it.
2020-07-14 01:02
they go into debt to study lesbian dance theory, women studies and how evil white people are lul no wonder young brainwashed college students and graduates are tearing down america
2020-07-14 01:02
its not their fault, its the school’s fault for marketing bullshit courses and sucking in the money
2020-07-14 01:05
I cant even imagine going to university and a course I have to take is "gender study" to """study""" more than 2 genders and then learn about how evil my own race is. My brain can seriously not even understand how you americans could let that happen, IMAGINE PAYING for those courses LOL
2020-07-14 01:12
yes, I can’t imagine that either. but you have to understand some people are very confused about what to study, and are more vulnerable to indoctrination/suggestion/politics than we are.
2020-07-14 02:37
the university system is totally broken, and the only things people actually vvant to change is hovv much it costs i think that fact alone is proof enough to hovv fucked vve are as a country

Not really, I don't like the leftist indoctrination. But you can get into a public university for quite cheap.
2020-07-14 03:06
the public schools K-12 is slight indoctrination here and there but once you get into university there's a very high chance you'll be indoctrinated OD in a couple classes

Computer science but we have to take General Education classes that include history, drug study, health study ect.

What is important is that you are aiming at something useful. The political drivel tends to stay away from departments that really have something to do.
2020-07-14 03:05
"Intellectuals and Society" by Thomas Sowell is all you need to know about modern academia
2020-07-14 03:01
idk about american universities but I'll speak for canadian universities (which arguably should be more left leaning) Every year there's someone that complains that they got a bad mark on a term paper because they argued for a right-leaning ideal, or that the teacher only gave good marks to people that agreed with their political ideals. So far, that's been proven false (at least in the institutions I have friends and family in). Those essays are often poorly written, (don't provide sources for claims, thesis is confusing, no real flow between argumentative paragraphs) and people always counter that claim by sharing their essays that score very high while arguing for right-leaning ideals. There's always going to be a pick-and-choose bias in education; there's sometime not enough time to go into every topic in the same amount of detail, and for me that's always been communicated by the prof. That being said, higher-level education is supposed to provide the basics of the subject/field of study. Students need to do their own research on the side as well (which is what term papers are meant to do)

sort of but also no. it's just a fact that the more educated you are the more likely for you to be liberal. so if you're teaching university you are likely to be liberal. it also radically depends on which university you go to. also it's definitely not indoctrination in the way Trump uses it, it just leans left. one could argue that it's a vicious cycle but i don't think so
2020-07-14 03:12
Makes sense, same what Jordan Peterson was saying
2020-07-14 03:50
It really varies by teacher, major, and the university. But yes, many universities have a ton of indoctrination to the point many fear sharing their own opinions as in many cases they can lead to biased grading
2020-07-14 04:21
This really depends on your major. I think I've maybe taken one class with leftist bs, but most students didn't really give a shit about it.
2020-07-14 04:24
Not only what Trump has stated but even left leaning politicians are questioning the prices of college in the US most notably Andrew Yang. It is pretty obvious that colleges are scamming the government and their own students with the constantly raising tuition costs. Colleges are left leaning because of course, they overcharge for tuition so when they promote left politics they point the finger away from themselves overcharging tuition to the government not funding enough.

basically many schools in the US are pushing a leftist Narrative how strongly depends on where you go but majority of universities are pro Radical Leftist youtube.com/watch?v=p8M2tg2RkIQ the saddest thing about this video is this is completely factual on at least 90% of US universities now
2020-07-14 05:10
I mean yeah he is, great example is Berkeley university where there were literally members of staff there in the riots that were because a conservative speaker wanted to speak at the university and he assaulted a person with a bike lock. Rioting because a conservative wanted to speak on Campus. The left used to be the party of freedom back in the 80s when the die hard Christians were in control of everything and saying rock music was the devils music now that seems to have switched around. The left are the authoritarians in control of the major institutions brainwashing small amounts of the future generations and indoctrinating them into their marxist/socialist ideology.
2020-07-14 09:42
Barely any entry level jobs because the Boomers shipped them overseas for better profits. Now the same Boomers complain about young people becoming left wingers.
