The first nuclear test was carried out in USA (Operation Trinity), and the world got its first nuclear weapon. How do you see the introduction of nuclear weapon to the humanity? 1. Boon - as it gave rise to 'nuclear deterrence' and has prevented a large scale war till now 2. Bane - as, whenever it will be used, will cause so much of damage to entire humanity

Actually the nukes were responsible for lowering the number of warlike conflicts by a lot, because no one want's to get nuked (they all saw what happened in japan) as much as the other party does not wants to launch it. we're living in a forever-cold-war because of it.
2020-07-16 18:32
Totally agree with you.

My opinion, the invention of Nukes was good, but for the wrong reasons. -we have less wars because of it -we advanced a LOT on nuclear science because of it -space science would definitely be a lot of years behind if it wasn't for those studies BUT, they were made for killing, devastating and to show who has a bigger dick - everything related to this is BAD.
2020-07-16 18:33
imagine how clean we'd become if every country had good intentions and went into nuclear energy production

2020-07-16 18:37

Maybe. The cold war was created because of political matters, but escalated (mostly) because of it AND kept going FOR it, and that's bad. A lot of countries that had nothing to do with USSR-USA thing thought it would be a good idea to have a nuke of their own because of it.. it's a basic question: when they are done between them, who's next?
2020-07-16 18:40
so do you think now that there are quite a number of nuclear countries, there will eventually be a nuclear war anytime in future, considering present geopolitics?

No, I don't think it will escalate to that. In order to be better than the rest, you still needs the rest to keep existing hahahha No country (not even China) is self suficient enough to not rely on others and nuking someone will definitelly make your allies your enemies. My guess is that in the near future, this will be illegal somehow. Which will create another problem, but it's not time to discuss this yet.
2020-07-16 19:30
yeah i think that too. its just the deterrence which forced them to maintain those nukes.

this might be a clash between the fear of being the first and justifying 'throwing' all that investment away. I hope this gets solved soon.
2020-07-16 20:32
yeah no one wants to be the accused one to start a nuclear war and at the same time no one wants to take the risk of being the first to drop out.

yes, kinda like dogs barking to eachother through a gate. the hate is real, but no one wants the gate to be opened.
