imo ancient ukraine is goat country, they invented paper, powder, numbers, computer, also they were 1st ppl on earth
Greece is definitely a good entry. I'd also say England and perhaps also italy.
Egypt, Greece, India, China, Iraq, Turkey
France - Italy - Britain - Japan - China - Greece - Russia
I like Netherlands history for some reason even though Dutch are cunts big time
Rome / Italy (I kinda wanna separate those 2 tho. Rome, yes. Italy, no.)
Spain is pretty good, but GB Better.
China is prolly pretty good too, but I don't know much about their history. Also fuck China rn.
Egypt deserves a spot too probably. Their recent history, not that good (like... past 500 years at least are not that interesting. But in Roman times and pre roman times, and as Egypt being pretty much one of the first civilisations ever, that's note worthy.)
Also, Dutch history is pretty good, not TOP TOP contender. But just cuz they were such a underdog and a small nation and yet somehow became this super power at some point. Also note-worthy.
France, pretty good too but I feel like they're a bit overshadowed.
For me personally what I think are the most interesting:
Great Britain, Netherlands, Rome(Italy...), Greece, Egypt.
Egypt, Greece, India, China, Iraq, Turkey, Italy, Japan
Throughout all history its probably Italy.
- Roman Empire
- Papal State (huge influence)
- Holy Roman Empire (Northern Italy prosperous)
- Garibaldi - United Italy
- First to fall to facism
Don''t know enough about China but they might be a big contender
India has great history. piss poor present and maybe future, but amazing history
Switzerland is the GOAT for me
top3, not arguable
india for sure . it has 7000years history and its been the richest for 6000years until british looted us
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!
Turkey (even though they were aggressors for their whole existence)
And of course Mongolia
Germany,Persia,France,Italy and Japan
Iran (persia) by faaarrr ... dont say me flag and etc ...
Achaemenian is the biggest and steongest emperor of all time ... Achaemenian fucjed greece so hard .. go study some historical booms plz !!
Parthian ( the 2nd emperor of irans history) fucekd rome really hard ...
So iran has the longest and strongest history by far
Change my mind
too many have nice history..
maybe some central american countries but they failed after the Spanish intervened
Portugal has one hell of a GOAT history, without a doubt
4)german (including austria)
10)other european countries and japan
USA duh. Haters will say burger brain smh
Armenia, Iran, and Serbia!
Reading through comments I gotta say I'm impressed some of you know something about history, not expected from hltv community haha.
I'd say sumerian and roman empire, along with greece. Also England and Portugal are interesting, they're pretty old, almost 1000 years old each.
Almost every nation has something to be proud of.
egypt, india, china, turkey, iraq and syria because of mesopotamia, italy
greece:today's greeks are of western thrace origin and dont have much connection with the ancient ones.byzantium was establishment by the latins(i mean romans). anyway i love greek people so much and they so close my people(despite the politicians).
I havent seen india throughout the thread
Kids have zero knowledge about history
tough question, i'll go with Italy, Persia, France, Greece and China : S tier.
Next Netherlands, UK, Turkey, India, Japan, Spain/Portugal, Egypt, Russia.
Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania KAPPA
Nice thread learned some interesting things here
Roman Empire n.1
Literally built whole Europe
England, Italy, Croatia, France.... there're plenty
2. Italy (Rome)
10. Can't remember, something about baguettes, surrendering and such.
I vote for France, they are the first to remove their king's head away from his neck and overthrow Feudalism, they had Paris Commune to trial out the dictatorship of the proletariats.
I come from China, but China's history is bad, just a repeat of civil war, Mongolian invasion, no progression at all.
Portugal, Spain, Italy, UK, Greece and Persia are the GOATS, this is the raw truth, those were the countries who contributed more to mankind if you think otherwise you're deluded
if you go by long history and inventions/progress, it should be:
1. greece, china, egypt
2. iran (persia), italy (rome), india
younger countries with impact in several areas:
russia, england, france, germany (holy roman empire)
there is also a case for a lot more like: spain, portugal, japan, netherlands, turkey ...
Egypt has a pretty cool history
Many wont get it because many have no clue.
but bassicly they where a big part of the beginning of Russia, England and so on.
Danes ran and laid the Empire stones of England.
So all those that say England or Russia, well. Denmark was there to start it all.
Oldest royal family in the world. oldest national flag in the world.
Even the romans spoke of a people called danes. not many places are the same for such a long time.
Denmark formed scandinavia, at least 70% of vikings where danish because of location and populations.
A lot of imoportant science.
Big impact on history. bassicly all royal families in Europe is tied to Denmark, or was.
Through Normandy ( it was danish vikings, infact the normas claim to England was based on their connected to Denmark because the danish kings was granted the right to rule England by the pope ) but with that also did stuff in Italy.
Later in history done a lot of things, and could say with modern history is on the forefront on new things, but people dont see that as much as history. more competetion between everything. and hating everything that is not ones own.
One people that goes back 1000 of years. most people in the world are actually sort of new in how they are today. because they used to be something else.
like Russia. well. Russia is new. England what a powerhouse.. but actually not really that old of a nation 1066 sort of, but well been a ton of changes through times, and rulers from all over to lead.
over 60% of the people that ruled England through time has danish ties within one "link"
Spain as spain again not that old. used to be castille and what not.
Germany, new nation.
Greece as a combined place has amazing history, yet, not really greece. it was city states, and other empires. greece as a nation is rather new.
Egypt is another real contender, early history they sit on.
But also for 1000 of years bassicly controlled by others.
And changes in what nation it really was. it might have been egypt. but not as a nation because it belong to another nation.
One hit wonder: Mongolia
Albania aka the Illyrians
The blood of Skanderbeg in my veins
Lithuania, idiots learn history
Why most of people say Iran?
Italy, by that i mean the roman empire, greatest shit ever exist on terra.
someone please explain to me why Japan is in so many lists??? Their history is literally 65656354 years of samurai fighting for power, and being on the loser's side in WW2. Not to mention they were heavily influenced by China.
Skythia=Rus=Ukraine (don`t be confused with moscovia - so called "russia")
Turkey , greece , italy , uk , china , france , india
lithuania and greece. no country compares.
Ottoman Turkey was pretty goat, they conquered a large amount of land in not a lot of time
also, islamic golden age: further development of sciences, algebra, geometry, calculus etc.
For being the most useless country wasting space.
ruled all over the world
What are we talking about here? Size? Age? How long they've been at peace for? How long they've been considered powerful? How cool or brutal they used to be?
UK fucked the world by slaughtering many indigenous people from many countries and by giving usa independence whilst also making the English language the international one. Its one of the worst languages to exist
Egypt, Greeks, Turks, China, Persians, Italians and Brits, the rest is irrelevant.
If you dig down you will find Bulgarian history really interesting, hell we won 3 battles against UK, France and Greece all coming at us while they had about 10x more army than us!
(We also invented cyrillic! ^^)
These are all countrys with gr8 history and historical impact
UK no doubt
- The Middle Ages
- The British Empire
- Westernization of the world ouside of Europe
- The industrial revolution
- The british invasion in the 1960s
Idk about goat but nz has a long history with sheep
(I like big dicks)
living peacefully with cows
It has to be europaen country
UK, France or Germany IMO
Spain, netherlands and scandinavian countries are contenders as well
european countries are mostly way too young. the last 400 years don't make up for all the progression before that. no matter how fast we perceive the latest progress.
the advancement in culture, philosophy and research in general wasn't seen before or after in this scale, concentrated in such a small area. the roman empire is often seen as follow-up and shadow of the greek city states in this context. it took nearly 2000 years to catch up to some of the research and enlightenment of that time.
a high culture even before the greeks and lasting for thousands of years. with lots of inventions like paper, gun powder, printing or the compass.
the oldest culture one can attribute a modern state to. some inventions: woven clothes, ink, papyrus paper, candies, locks, tooth paste, real surgery, tables, the calendar, pyramids and most importantly beer!
roman empire (sanitation, roads, numerals, concrete, news papers, aqueducts, ...)
persia (refrigerator, battery, alphabets, postal service, human rights, ...)
india (the zero!, shampoo, buttons, ...)
i feel like all others pale in comparison. the mongols for example were short-term and mainly transported wisdom, didn't generate themselves.
Greece, Italy (Rome), China, not in order.
Im not sure about Russian history I missed the course in highschool :/
Maybe i missed smthing else,
