Monitor 240Hz - Settings
 |
Portugal MCDOUG
I recently bought a 240Hz 27'' Monitor. What settings should I use to rule the world and enslave the noob race? (csgo) PS: Nvidia Geforce 1070TI, i5-8600K Hexa-Core 3.6GHz c/ Turbo 4.3GHz 9MB, 16Gb RAM, SSD 500Gb.

i play 1600x900 all low, and its still playable for me. You can put it at 2x or 4x if you want
2020-08-04 20:56
Tbh 16x looks better and doesn't consume that much fps

graphic settings=preference if you have good pc but high settings=more input delay use that settings, that comfortoble for u

Well if you are good then you are definetly going to have a pretty huge advantage with 240 vs 60
2020-08-04 19:26
who has 60hz in 2020 ???? you can absolutely dominate someone with 240hz even if you have 60hz if you're good enough
2020-08-04 19:27
Maybe depends on what 60hz monitor? I always feel like enemies react faster than i do, and can't grasp first shot advantage whole holding good angles. Can't be just ping not being ideal. Also tracking mobile targets seems impossible. If enemy uses movement, i might as well give up on the fight. 60hz and maybe something more, like high input delay.
2020-08-04 19:34
well you're just a bot and you should quit gaming because you are obviously too bad. You can have shit reaction but still win gun fights.
2020-08-04 19:34
Just winning gun fights isn't enough. When I shoot enemy as fast as seemingly possible from advantageous positions, yet still get instantly killed, I start questioning what exactly is wrong.
2020-08-04 19:40
it's because your crosshair placement is fucked and you have no experience with fps games, you don't need to shoot fast you need to shoot accurately
2020-08-04 19:46
You are not listening. My crosshair placement is on point, my aim is on point, my recoil control is mostly on point. Reaction average 200+ms. I am not talking about situations where it was obviously my fault for performing poorly. I am talking about getting beaten down when I have the edge. And about how impossible it is to track targets. I can't track, the only option is to anticipate where enemy will counterstrafe and tag them. Other than just a luck that I don't want to bet on.
2020-08-04 19:56
what's your rank ?
2020-08-04 19:57
ak with brackets
2020-08-04 19:58
XD then you're clearly not as good as you think, my advice for you is just to get better gamesense, you will just outplay those bots in your rank
2020-08-04 19:59
Like I said, you're not listening. The point is not whenever I am less skilled than I think I am. What I say is that I experience hard tangible limits that I can't get over with my current 60hz monitor. But yes, my gamesense is completely out of whack right now. But that doesn't apply to what I am talking about.
2020-08-04 20:05
Better monitor won't improve much if you can't track your enemies, honestly just forget about cs go, I only play video games like once a week and it's way better for my mental health
2020-08-04 20:07
You make no sense, how the fuck do I track someone who adadads on 60hz?
2020-08-04 20:09
I had 60hz back in 2015 and I used to play faceit with it and I got to lvl 8, then I switched to 144hz and got to 2700 elo and stopped playing faceit in 2017 don't blame your monitor, you are clearly not as good as you think you are
2020-08-04 20:12
Like I said earlier, there might be more to story than just 60hz alone. Like my monitor maybe have additional input delay higher than others. You might have had great ping to help. How did you deal against p90 users that just straight up strafes out and don't stop? Against eco adaders? To me aiming is easy, headshots is no issue at all. But tracking movement is on diffferent scale of difficulty. Just can't do it. Enemies just slips through all too often.
2020-08-04 20:19
You are passing his point. Playing Faceit in 2015 when over 100Hz monitors weren't even the standard for pro's is incomparable today when even the silvers playing their first game ever most likely have a proper gaming setup (not all, but most gamers will have atleast a 2nd hand 120-144Hz monitor) and there's a major difference in the amount of information you're recieving. It completely changes the ability to time your shots, react accordingly etc. Especially CSGO which has heavy peekers advantage, you can't efficiently hold corners without proper sound ques with a 60Hz monitor. You are just not getting the information fast enough. Someone peeking you from the angle you're holding might be seeing you before the input has even been updated to your monitor. How can you possible counter that with crosshair placement? I have played enough (since 2000, beta 3 when CS was still a mod for Half-Life) and high enough (Major League qualifiers last stage (BO16 teams)), Faceit 10, Global etc. and I can tell you that there's a difference of day and night when I nowadays play MM home one my 55" TV in my livingroom and a gaming monitor at the local gaming cafe I go to play Faceit at.

I remember that when my 240 hz monitor broke under warranty and had to wait 3 days for a replacement I tried to play CSGO with a 60hz monitor I have. I immediately turned off the game and decided to wait for the replacement because of how bad it felt.

Well many scrubs still play on 60, but if you have scenario with two equal players play vs each other then you are getting fucked if u have 60hz
2020-08-04 19:35

The biggest dumbest mistake people make is to put settings on low.... With today's hardware, and a game like csgo, you can crank everything to the highest and barely gey any fps hit. It was valid when pc hardware was shit .... unnecessary these days and theres no reason for the game to look like garbage unless a potato pc. The only thing i agree upon is resolution as aspect ratios does matter for playability . I have ryzen r5 3600, gtx 1080ti, 16gb of ram @3600mhz. Everything is overclocked to maximize performance. I play on 1280x960 simply coz im used to it , but all settings are cranked to the max, i get 480 fps average on fps benchmark map. You wont be that far from it with yout specs....put a res that you like, settings on high, and have fun. The settings which are most relevant for the monitor are contrast, brightness and black equaliser (or its other names , depending on the brand), which is used to lighten up dark areas.
