Just lay down and shut off the phone and computer. Even just laying awake for 5 hours in the dark will restore some energy. Don't do all sorts of things like checking the internet etc. Just lay there in the dark and accept you're not gonna fall asleep but atleast you're recharging instead of tiring yourself even more by using various gadgets, internet, watching a movie etc. Just lay down and relax. Or try to go sit elsewhere for 15 minutes without turning anything on or doing anything at all. Just sit and get bored in a different location for 15 minutes. Sometimes that's so boring it makes you fall asleep afterwards.

interesting tips makes sense. But you start overthinking so much shit while just laying and doing nothing. its like a crazy loop hole

One of the things you think about the most (atleast in my experience) is "I need to sleep. How long is there before I need to wake up???" and you checking the clock every 5 minutes and getting more and more frustrated. Which is why I found the idea of "okay, I'm probably not gonna sleep but I can lay here and relax so I won't be totally bombed out when I need to get up" helpful. The acceptance of knowing you might not get any sleep prevents that vicious cycle where the frustration just builds inside you and makes the adrenaline flow.

one thing that might sound stupid but i read about it and kinda work for me is like lay down on bed and think about nothing and say in your head like "relaxing my right foot" and then right foot, then legs, and all parts of the body, just imagine that u are relaxing all parts of the body individually, and u will feel, your muscles getting relaxed, and ur mind will think about nothing, just relaxing your body sry bad englando

It's actually a common exercise in mindfullness. Just recognizing the various parts of your body and being aware of the feeling they have (and by doing it, making them slowly relax when being aware of them). It's like how you can make your legs feel really heavy, almost asleep, by simply focusing on what they feel like when laying down.

Lately, I found that the idea: "okay, I'm probably not gonna sleep but I can lay here and relax so I won't be totally bombed out when I need to get up" is helpful in countering that

Go lay down in bed and watch a boring speedrun of a game genre that really doesn't interest you on your phone. You will sleep.

Listen to me. Lay on your back. Arms straight. Don't ever move no matter what. While laying still, start counting in your head. Don't think about anything else than counting. By laying still your brain will think your body is sleeping, and with the limited brain activity while counting.. you will have stopped counting by 200-300. Works 100% of the time
