my laptop was 2 shit to run mw2 but it could run cs ez
Watched my friend and brother play 1.6
Skin gambling and I needed a game I can play in a short span which could give me some sort of an adrenaline rush, since I was fed up playing Dota 2.
Lack of social life and skills
kinda like an urge lol
i had a very vague memory of playing cs 1.6 and i just liked the thought of playing cs
i dont even know how i found out what it was
I watched my older brother play it three years ago and asked if I can try it.
I really liked it even tho I was just playing against bots in a Dust II offline server and didn't really have any idea how to play it at that time. Later that day I asked if he could buy it for me so I could start playing it too, and well here we are today, still enjoying the game as much as the day I first tried it :)
I got into cod esport vods on yt, even though i had never played the game itself
somewhere along the way i got recommend a nip vs dignitas game so i started watching csgo some.
i really wanted bo3, but my mom wouldnt buy it, so i had her buy csgo instead, though i had already been casually watching some csgo for about a year
A friend of mine took me to an internet cafe back in the old days and it was the first time i saw 100 gamers + in a building playing LAN games like CS, Warcraft 3 etc. I got hooked immediatly with the game while was having fun with friends. Since then im a fan and ill always be ( though i really disliked CS Source )
Saw my brother playing the game around 2013, thought the game looked amazing so I started watching tournaments then in 2016 when I got a computer I got CSGO
First time I heard about it was in 2001, in a video game rental, there was a place where only older people could enter... I didn't know what it was (I was 11). Later that year I played it for the first time on a small lan house (the first I ever saw) on a shopping mall. I remember the first map I ever played was cs_assault. And I thought the M4A1 was the AR33 from Goldeneye.
I still play 1.6 to this day (obviously just for fun) it still is my main hobby to relax and chill.
found it browsing steam
watched a few cs youtubers after discovering it
then bought it on my birthday
I used to play Dota on cyber cafes since I was 12 yo, and I was the best player among all of others. So the older guys challenged me to play this game named csgo, I got my ass rekt hard, but still liked the game.
Started out with 1.6 back in high school because my friends were playing it. I thought the normal maps sucked because I was so bad at it, which made me mostly play zombie mods lmao
played 1.6 cus my friends and classmates played it, played csgo when it got fixed
CS was a lifestyle for me and my friends, we were keep running away from the school to play CS 1.6 in internet cafes.. good old days.. (we were like 10-11 years old)
Back in the day before Steam existed, we all had 1.5 burned to a cd, during lunch break we go to the internet cafe and run scrims. Not going to lie though I was always into Diablo 2 way more than CS, I love CS but Diablo 2 LOD is my GOAT game without a doubt, also used to love day of defeat.
CoD 2 is the best CoD game ever made btw, the only other CoD i've ever liked was world at war and only because it reminded me of some of the older medal of honor games.
I was pro at Medal of Honor Spearhead, game died so after Global Offensive came
Real life friends loved to play with me in 2014 when I bought it on my bday (holy shit there has been 6 years since that), I stopped playing it somewhat in 2017 and have been global since 2015, there's nothing really I've not done with the game since I never wanted to play faceit if I didn't have friends to do so, my friends have moved on from CS and don't play FPS's like it.
My aunt bought me cs 1.6 when I was like 9 or 10
Worked in a internetcafe and played alot of HL when it was released, so it was natural too try it :)
I watched some matches on youtube when I was like 15 but my mom wouldn't let me play it until age 18
Came across it a few times when watching youtube back in 2015, everyone was talking about how difficult csgo is so I decided to give it a shot in feb 2016. Mainly played DM, then stopped playing it to go play BO3 again.
Sometime in June 2016 my mom and I got into an argument and she took away my PS4, but for some reason didn't mind me playing on our Mac; on that very day I became a CSGO player
Tried out comp, got my first rank a few weeks later at silver 3, now I'm hardstuck MG2 for two years looking for a reason to play CSGO
for good anti-cheat maybe??? XD
I saw cs for the first time on TV for ELeague season 1 and I loved the game immediately
Well i had played 1.6 and liked it very much. I once saw my brother playing and i like it so much that i played with bots on diffent maps for whole month. Later he got me my own account and pc and i have been playing since 2019
i started playing because of an egirl. then she quit, we broke up our e-relationship but i carried on playing for thousands more hours.
We played cs 1.6 at school and a friend of mine watched a nip vs fnatec replay so he forced me to buy this game that I cannot get a job, a girlfriend, i dont go out, I drink alcohol everytime i lose because of this stupid toxic teammates and no i am not going to play toxic faceit because i get kicked every time being top fragger and i think i am going to kill myself bye.
Team Fortress 2 and the Surf Servers there. Enjoyed it quite a lot and thought i'd try CSS surf. Was even better.
Got into TF2 bc it was F2P my peers played aswell.
Started playing in Gaming houses (kind of lan shops with 20-50 PCs where you could rent a seat for a few dollars/hours) in 1999 since I couldnt play online from home (Internet connection was shit). CS was the most popular game there and I used to destroy my classmates etc so I fell in love with it.
>I was a Warface/Combat Arms player. I got tired of playing pay2win games, where those who were rich had advantage
>my computer didn't run other fps games like cod/battlefield, I only had CSGO to play, so I learned to like the game xD
but what helped me to stay in CSGO was the competitive scenem, following FalleN and NiP.
That was in 2014
When Fortnite came out i started playing at the age of 13. It was my first shooter game. After some seasons though fortnite became shit game, and I wanted to play another game with guns, then I downloaded csgo and played with bots for some time. Some weeks later my cousin downloaded it too and we started playing together. Now I have 1.2k hours and supreme rank.
10 years old cs_assault on 1.6 with bots ofc
Damn, that's old... Heu... Haaaaa... Hoooo.... Don't remember!
I remember that we share the source version with a friend around 2004/2005 but the 1.6, can't remember. I don't even recall if I played the 1.6 before Source, I have memories of me playing 1.6 at a LAN in 2005/2006 alongside COD2 and Quake3. We couldn't play much, we had a great player from 1.6, he did a couple of ACE with his deagle, and a guy from the National Belgium Team of Team Fortress with us. We would have been gutted by playing with them too much, although we could compete on Q3 and COD.
Spending my 20€ paycheck a week at the cybercafé when I was 10yo, 20 years ago. The first time was at summer, me and my friends used to go skate/bmx all day and going to the cyber at the afternoon. Played a lot of CS 1.5 there and other HL mods like Vampire Slayer and HL:DM. After that year I bought my first PC and installed CS 1.3. Played A LOT with bots (it was all modded because the bots where "aftermarket"). I used to bring the CD with the CS 1.3 with me wherever I went and ended up installing it on the school and friends computers. Later that year and the next one I bought 1.6 and started playing more serious untill the release of CS:S.
When CS:S came out I used to play both just for fun, after that I stopped playing for a while to study. Then I joined a CS:S team that had good representation on Spain (SG Team) and we played a lot of ESL League.
After a year or so my team and I started playing BF 2142 and did very good being the best team in Spain. Then I've stopped playing until 2017 that I've installed and enjoyed CS:GO a lot. When it went free the cheaters started to multiplicate then I've stopped playing and now that I'm a grown up man I don't give a fuck hahahahah
randomly saw a csgo related video in my recommendations , watched it and liked it so i installed the game
Irl friends and 1 taps kept me playing
My classmates were playing it, but I had shitty pc at that time, so I downloaded 1.6 instead. Later that year (school year 2014-2015) I bought a pc and csgo
Watched my cousin play some gathers and leagues in 1.6 and I liked it so I started playin the game. Cs_estate and fy_snow, good old times
Me and my friends at school were plaing League all day long and we decided to play some shooters together. I think we also played Planetside before which is why we even thought about playing shooters and since LoL is a really competitive game, we wanted to play a competitive shooter too. We did play some cod from time to time but it was too casual for us in order for everyone to buy the game. So we came across csgo which had only beed released for like a year and even though we quit for some time and hated the game probably as much as we loved it, it stuck around and now I feel like I wasted by life with over 2k hours
Cant recall 100%. Pretty sure my friends talked about it in the yard and then I played it at a Internet cafe. Started with 1.5. This is like 2002
my friends played CS 1.6 together and asked me to play with them
after few weeks of playing i became good player (better than any of them) and CS became my fav game
later i started playing CSGO (when i got actually good PC
I reached Supreme with them (premade)
and LE on soloQ both as AWPer
cute (sad) story
i was also a cod player until like 2014 and then a friend got me (and many other friends) into CS
I started playing 1.6 in 2010 I saw a friend play the game and asked what was the name of it, then he let me try the game and I enjoyed it a lot. I played 1.6 until like 2013 maybe. And in 2016 another friend asked me if I have csgo and I bought it because it looked fun and I haven't stopped playing since.
I even remember the day I got the game 1st june 2016
started with counter strike condition zero back in 2006 or 2007, back then my pc was shit and this was the only game I could run
I played 1.6 as a kid with bots because a relative installed it on my pc, I really liked it from the start but never actually put much time into it. In middle school there was this internet cafe me and my classmates used to go to, some of them were obviously better than me and I liked it a lot so I started playing more and more. I then had a bad incident where I got so badly beaten to the point where I was embarrassed to even go out because of the bruises I had on my face (I was 12 at the time), I stayed home all day playing 1.6. Later that summer I got a new laptop and I moved to csgo, and for the next 3 years I spent pretty much all my time playing cs. I haven't played much the last 2 years ( I still played but not 60 hours a week like i used to), still really nice to look back at all the memories.
cod2 died, got bored of lol and wow, needed a shooter
My father when I was 9 years old. (In 2002)
I've watched my elder brothers playing it
My brother's friend showed me the game and I got hooked :D
2014 major dreamhack winter final NİP VS LDLC
when i watching maikele's awp i said i need to play awp on cs go :D
(for csgo only)
My brother showed me the game in 2005, and the rest as we say, is history..
I perhaps would have been CS pro as I'm always dedicated to professional side of games.... since my father said play World of Tanks and CS is shit, started only when I was 18 and it's completely too late and all time is wasted on a game that doesn't even have anymore competitive scene... fk my life
My brother showed me 1.6 and there is where it all started
a friend gifted me the game to play with him and I surpassed him within 2 weeks. he quit after.
was a cod player (mw series/ black ops 1/2)
was playing competitive gathers on cod then i tried csgo (beta), liked it but still was a cod player, then cod died, then i became a cs player
tried playing source/1.6 before but had a shitty internet so i didnt
All my friends were on PC so I bought switched from 10 years of console and bought a computer in 2018 and bought CSGO. Sold my console a while back, pc is better in every way
I dont even remember exactly but I was 6 and my friend brought me to this internet cafee.
Safe to say my friend created a video games addict for ~14 years
Played L4D2 with a guy and got csgo from him when it came out
