GuardiaN - Slovakian NiKo - Bosnian broky - Latvian Bymas - Lithuanian allu - Finnish They have all played for FaZe. Do you think they speak better English than a Dane like Kjaerbye ?

danes are known to be quite good at english and all of the faze members speak decent english. dunno why you wrote guardian in there but ok:D
2020-08-13 19:38
i think his point was that guardian played with them in the past. he's just trying to show how many different countries have played under faze and performed just fine. also, guardian's english was not very good at all when he started in faze

he speaks english just fine? almost every dane speaks/understands fluent english some even better than danish itself
2020-08-13 19:24
man can you tell me how they teach you english in denmark? because it must be something special.
2020-08-13 19:37
well its a main class for most childeren starting around 4th grade so we learn it pretty early on
2020-08-13 19:39
in my country, it starts on 4th grade but still most of us cannot even understand english at all. even myself cannot speak it properly because of lack of practice but i understand it very well. the thing is they just trying to teach us fucking grammar again and again. people here cannot understand you dont just have to know grammar, you also have to know how to speak and how to read it.
2020-08-13 19:51
well danish and english are both germanic languages so maybe that has something to do with it? but idk i personally dont think our english lessons are too special, but as i said it is a main class for us and we use alot of english media such as youtube and such which definitely helps
2020-08-13 19:56
maybe thats the reason. maybe you dont want to leak your secret about your education system. :>

i think in your case, i think all you need. Is to find a way of speaking english more often and the rest will come automatically.
2020-08-13 20:09
but im shy men(((( even tho my english is at least decent, it just feels like im gonna screw up if i talk with native speakers.

maybe try and play a online game where talking and explaining stuff is important. maybe something like fiveM mod for gta v if you're into that and if not, find something similar instead. that way you have no need to feel shy or ashamed if you say something wrong or don't remember a word or something like that. it's just some dude you'll never meet anyway :D
2020-08-14 20:06
the thing is im still living with my parents so they dont let me speak with anyone in the game. i dont know why but for some reason they hate this kinda stuff. but hopefully im gonna go to another city next year and i will have freedom to do whatever i want. but still i wanna ask one thing. what should i speak with a person who is playing cs go? i can just talk about cs go scene and i dont think its gonna improve my english because i already speak about it in hltv.

that's why i mentioned fivem, where human interaction basicly carries the game and story-line. and maybe try and talk with you parents, both about their worries about you speaking with other players online. and explain to them how you feel it will improve your spoken English language, and that you see that as the weakest part of your english skillset.
2020-08-15 01:33
Ok bro i will try my best. Thank you for your help :)
2020-08-15 06:58
you can't be ashamed, you have to talk as much as possible. Learning from your own mistakes is most effective.
2020-08-18 16:48

2020-08-18 18:41
In Denmark exams and school system is quite different from other countries. First i will add to #26 media. I see other countries sometimes has voicing in their own language over english shows. In denmark thats verh uncommon. We use danish subtitles unless its for children. About school. We dont do alot of random tests where you just grind the answers snd gramma. Its more focused on writing essays and reading/understanding culture, and writing essays about that. I will say we dont do alot of oral exams and training, which is why some danes has a very thick danish accent but they have a decent vocabulary.
2020-08-14 20:35
hmm thats what i wanted to hear. it explains so much thing about your education system. "We use danish subtitles unless its for children." this is also very important for learning a language. because here people dont wanna read the subtitles so we watch the movies in our language. i personally hate to watch dubbed movies.
2020-08-14 20:43
Yea i think it has quite an impact!
2020-08-18 11:52
havn't read the following comments but one difference is that Germany, France and most likely Austria sync their movies etc into their native language while countries like denmark, netherlands etc keep them in english and only add subtitles. This gives them a lot more practise in english, even if they dont speak and only listen. It helps a lot
2020-08-18 12:34
ofc listening is how i learnt English :D
2020-08-18 16:25
So?
2020-08-18 16:34
So nothing. I agreed you on that listening is best way to learn

How do you get a chance to use it outside of school in your country? Do people just switch from danish to english in a middle of a conversation?

same in my country all of our other subjects are also in English but it isnt like we are taught the real world way of English it is just basic grammar
2020-08-13 20:33
Well i didn't learn english in school, since my teacher was incompetent.... I learned it through gaming and movies.
2020-08-14 20:19
same for me but if majority of your country does speak english very well then there must be something special about your education system.
2020-08-14 20:27
Denmark is a small country, so lots of entertainment is in English ie. games, movies, music... and it all helps people learn English. I grew up in southern part of Denmark so I learned German as well, the Danes that grow up near Sweden tends to speak Swedish and so on. Also later on in business it is not uncommon that companies here do business in English, the USA is actually our #1 export customer and plenty of US companies also have big offices here. Plus there is just a tradition for Danish companies doing business international, this has Danes going abroad for business and foreigners coming here to work. Where I work i sometimes speak to people from the general public, at times those people are English speakers and that is just a non-issue and really English speaking people living here can get by well just knowing English even when in contact with authorities about say taxes and stuff. They also report learning Danish is hard because Danes will just speak to them in English, it is just a natural reflex when you hear someone struggling speaking Danish.
2020-08-14 21:07
Oh thank you for infos bro. Appreciate it
2020-08-15 06:51
They know english better than other countries just because their language is similar to english, like if for example serbian was international language then Im pretty sure polish people would speak it better than danes. Also because they have just 5million speakers their community is not big so they just have to often use english

I might not be Danish but it is the same for me. Except for my poor accent (which used to be good about 10 years ago) I don't have any issues with English, it is nearly as good as my Swedish and I often think in English and if I sometimes anglify my Swedish because of it. This is especially true when it comes to media and gaming. I never enjoyed Swedish TV or movies and I think gaming in Swedish is pure cringe. Even single player games I go for English instead of Swedish.
2020-08-15 01:38
So you didnt learn english in school?

From 3rd grade we learn it in school But the main part of English comes from just endulging in English/US media.

2020-08-15 09:35

? FaZe had proved themselves multiple times on LAN before the Chinese virus era
2020-08-15 22:48
exactly where?
2020-08-16 00:57
BP Copenhagen 2019 BP Spring Offline won their group, destroyed Liquid Twice when they were still considered a top team IEM Katowice 2020, nearly made playoffs but lost to Navi in a close series, Navi themselves admitting they only saw a chance to win once beating FaZe BP Global Final 2019 Lost to NIP badly but contented well in a very close series to Liquid IEM Beijing Top 4 placing, beating out EG
2020-08-16 02:03
"Fluent" ? well that's just a load of BS, never heard a Danish person who speaks English fluently, it's just a Danglish, and they always sound like they have a potato in their mouth
