I didn't say Astralis are good now, but that they were good back in 2019 even though they lost matches.
1 match is nothing, their win is meaningless compared to their past accomplishments, Astralis will be back when they win a tourney. If its Cologne so be it, i'm down for it. Csgo feels weird without them at 1.

I'm not wrong, though - Quite the opposite. If you want to believe Astralis to be the best team currently, that is perfectly fine purely from a fanatic standpoint as realistically and factually they are not that high ranking yet.

I'm honestly pleasantly surprised with how well they are doing in Cologne... I don't think they have dropped a single map yet -- 2-0 Fnatic, 2-0 Vitality.

The user I replied to definitely is doing that very same thing.
I mean they won't be good as before but if you look at the roster and recent results it's all looking pretty good and they have lots of potential, especially when watching their match against vitality. The roster itself on paper is really decent, but let's keep watching more matches and see what happens

Fantastic post and fair, concise analysis of the event.
Sprout really impressed me and Astralis with the new roster went further than most people thought. ZywOo underperformed against Astralis but their aim was on point during the match, being able to shut the tyranny down very well.
Complexity defeating Na'Vi and evening going to the playoffs is also an incredible upset.

IT is hard to argue who is number 1, however, the clear top 5 (EU) when taking account for an offline are, not online which is way more random. It should contain Astralis, G2, FaZe, Fnatic, and vitality. Navi would be number 1 in CIS. While I think the top of NA would be in no order, Liquid, EG, 100T, Complexity, and Mibr. Where Furia drops just outside the top 5.

I think we have to wait for the LAN events. We just had a player break and there is no clear #1.
Big got rekt early on in Cologne, NaVi getting rekt by tier2, Faze looking shaky af with their new addition, Astralis just changed half of their roster, fnatic's momentum-based cs isn't working well, Zywhoo and vitality playing average cs, G2 struggling vs heroic, EG playing NA-only teams.
Personally, when things develop, I think Astralis, BIG and Complexity have the best shot on claiming #1 spot. Astralis have the right tools, management and structure to once again get on top, despite having 2 new players. Bubskji looks pretty solid, however I'm still sceptical about esetag. BIG is already #1 online, so becoming #1 on LAN shouldn't be hard, unless onlinetares goes full potato.
Complexity is probably the most promising team right now and I want to see how far the juggernaut can get.

Okay so in all seriousness it's between astralis/g2/vitality , I don't want to say g2 is the best team because they are really hard chokers but vitality is looking kind of rusty and astralis hasn't played enough games with roster to judge properly.. na'vi is out of discussion and so is BIG... Really would need to see EG play against an EU team to know if they are top1 contender
If you would have asked me about 2 weeks ago I would have said BIG with 0 doubt, but I need to see them bounce back and show that it wasn't a fluke to even think about ranking them nr1 with confidence.
So to answer your question: top 1 team right now is still BIG, and in about 2-4 weeks it will either be Vitality/G2 or Astralis
