In the first versions of de_aztec the outer bombsite had its own designated area, and once the bomb was planted you could try to defend it from across a pit featuring two ramps that was also located nearby. Or by hiding behind one of the numerous columns. It was a unique location of its own, similar to maybe how bombsite B in Nuke in 1.6. Now, it's your turn.

Well, let's say I meant the one that was later on referred as outer then. I wanted to use A and B at first, and then realised this was probably inconsistent across different versions. For example, I think aztec_cz had A and B switched over compared to 1.6 aztec.

"I think aztec_cz had A and B switched over compared to 1.6 aztec." I actually dont remember playing aztec on condition zero. Only have some images of assault and italy in my mind :D From T perspective: over the brige -> B ; through double doors -> A, but maybe you are right and there are switched versions. I loved to play 3x3s on aztec 1.5/1.6.

> Only have some images of assault and italy in my mind :D Neither of those however had their own CZ variants. They were exactly the same as in 1.6.

Yea I know. But these maps come to my memory when I think of cz

u remember dem sound triggers on aztec? on bridge and stairs
2020-08-27 16:45
Yes the lightning 👍👍 But it wasnt always triggered. Sometimes you could be lucky to pass with no sound cue

not lucky. if someone triggered the effect already you could pass through without making a sound cue for a certain period of time. also if i remember correctly you can maske a very precise strafe jump around the trigger on bridge, avoiding the sound cue altogether - maybe thats what you meant e: mispelled "sound cue" because i retard

Yes your right!!! Its so long ago i couldnt even remember haha

1.6 still has a bug in its accuracy calculation where if you burst enough bullets then the next single bullet after the recoil has cooldown will have much lower accuracy than normal. This bug won't occur if you shoot really slowly. In fact theres a mod to fix this 1.6 bug: forums.alliedmods.net/showpost.php?p=154..

Switching to another weapon fixes that though, doesn't it?

Yes and reloading does as well.

There was one map in official mapcycle in early post beta CS that had three bombsites. It was removed later on probably because it was too complicated for players to memorize.

3 sites in a 5v5 shooter is shit

Well, but they were quite easy to cover. On top of that, one was literally CT spawn.

There actually two different Aztec versions before what people commonly refer to as "1.5" Aztec. The oldest one had a huge T spawn area with a bunch of columns in there.

M4 used to have a zoom.

Only for few months though. Back in early beta. You couldn't remove the silencer then either.
2020-09-11 15:01
You used to be able to plant at A while on B (Nuke)
2020-09-11 15:30
it sounds like an aleksib strat, going b but going a
2020-09-11 18:12
Hahaha, maybe he did it! It was a boost so you could plant on the roof of B, wich would make the bomb be on A site

Have you got a video to show? We all know you can defuse A from B. Planting though?

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case these days. I have one default CS map in this category too. I don't know cs_havana well at all.

*how bombsite B looked like in Nuke in 1.6. Thanks to pointing this out. I lost some portion of text there, probably while trying to rephrase that sentence for whatever reason.
