the prices are very good. 2080 TI was around $1400 and 3070 that costs $500 can match it

smart move by Nvidia simply more affordable more sales

Probably trying to keep price competitive for AMD's launch. I think they wanna have different variants of the 3060, 3070, and 3080 down the line.

even if they kept prices high, amd would probably still get destroyed, but it is good to see competition

It's looking like AMD might have a high end card. Just not much is known about it still even though its still on track to drop this year.

after a card that can run 8k at 60fps just launched i doubt amd's card is going to be much of a threat in the high end side

Only reason to upgrade to that is if you're gonna be playing 2021 AAA games on like 4K

Yes, the linear improvements continues, other than the Super refresh skipping a year. Waiting for rtx 3060 launch months later.

I got one new at the end of 2019. Pretty big bummer for me that even a 3070 can match it. I am both happy and angry

3070 doesnt match it. 3070 is stronger by like 10-20%. ^^

as far as i remember the 3070 was slightly above 2080ti in that chart. ye 3080 is a monster. not even talking about 3090 which is truly INSANE. 8K 60fps you what mate
2020-09-01 18:59
so how does this work usually, the cards have been premiered, when will i be able to buy lets say 3070? I've also always had reference models of graphics, what is the downside/difference of the default nvidia cards models?

best part is that if it'll really cost only 700 bucks, i can just sell my current card and buy it for more then half of price cheaper

Same here. For now my 2070 is just fine (and will still be fine for a few months more). I´ll probably upgrade, when the inevitable TI versions of these new GPUS come out (or earlier if I am unable to play Cyberpunk stable at 1080P - yh I have a 1080P 240 hz monitor just because of CS lul)
2020-09-01 19:30
why is this so surprising, this performance increase is quite common at the gpu's

1070 = 980 ti, same increase edit: sure 2070 is not quite as powerful as the 1080 ti, but it's not much weaker

if your intentions are to play CS with good frames, get a 10 series intel processor instead of a 3000 series gfx card...if your current card is decent.

Not that important for CS but the 3080 seems to be a great card for the price if you play other games that are more GPU demanding. If I was looking to upgrade my GPU now, that would be the card I´d buy for sure (the 3090 seems to be overkill in terms of cost/benefit). Right now I don´t need a 3080 for the games I play and my RTX2070 should be enough (for me) for a few months more but I will probably take a serious look at the inevitable "3080TI" which will come out in a few months if it is priced similar to the 3080´s launch price...
2020-09-01 19:25
Disgusting tbh the prices keep going up. And if you bought a 2080 ti you are punching the air rn.

Kinda disappointed with only 8GB and 10GB of VRAM tho, anyways I will probably be choosing between 3070/3080. That is if AMD doesnt come out with a banger GPU aswell.
