So Messi is forced to stay. Are they fucking stupid? First of all Messi dont want to be there, secondly the guy will leave FOR FREE IN SUMMER??? So they are forcing one last season where they wont win shit, to let him go for free in summer. Why not just take the 150-200 mill thet couldve got... This club is on the downfall, thank fuck. Some of the worst business i’ve ever seen

Ok? Then they will go bankrupt in 9 months instead? lol They could have gotten 150-200m + 1-2 players and they refuse to let him go when he wants to leave...yikes. I believe Barcelona wants Manchester Citys Angeliño. EDIT: Or Eric García, i know they want him as well. So, why not just do 150-200m + Angeliño for Messi, or 150 + Eric García etc. Instead hes probably leaving for free in 9 months lol.

Basically because there's no team that wants to pay 150-200M plus players or the wants that want are not clubs where Messi wants to go. Bartomeu is pretty stupid, but Barça is not an enterprise, so when he leaves next year he needs to leave the club with balanced accounts or the club can sue them and he'll have to pay from his pocket, which will happen since the covid thing made all the clubs to lose some income. Selling him will give him some superavit, so if he don't do it, it's clear that there's no real offer. Remember that City was close to get banned from UCL because of no financial fair play. Maybe I'm wrong, but is what it makes more sense to me.

"Basically because there's no team that wants to pay 150-200M plus players" City basically wants to do that? lol. They offered like 130M + 2-3 players for him. And one of the players they offered is a player Barcelona wants. There is offers from especially Manchester City to Barcelona about Messi. But, Messi clearly wants to stay these 9 months because he loves the club and dont want to end this in a bad way with courts and all that. He just got beef with Bartomeu. "Remember that City was close to get banned from UCL because of no financial fair play." Yes? But, they have not exactly spent hundreds of millions of euro this window or previous windows. This window they spent like 75 million and winter 2019-2020 they spent basically nothing either. The 17/18 season they spent a SHIT LOAD of money, like 318 million.

Is not just the transfer money, they would have a big salary per year, so I'm sure it will be hard for them, not because they don't have money, but because of the financial fair play, where you need to sell almost the same that you buy. Btw, those 130M+2-3 players is based on media info, but there's others that says they want to pay Messi with a 5 years contract where he would get +100M a year on New york team, so they have no ban for the fair play thing, but to do that, he should go for free. So who knows, but I don't believe Bartomeu would not, at least, sit to talk and see if that offer can be raised or which players or whatever, because he needs that money, and it's easier to get that from one player (that will go out for free next year) than having to sell half of the team. To me it looks like that offer comes from a journalist mind, but who knows.

I guess you have not seen the deal the "City Group" wants to do. They want Messi to play in Barcelona for 3 or 4 years, then move to New York City FC for 1 year. This is something Messi seem to have accepted and will most likely do when hes free from Barcelona. "Btw, those 130M+2-3 players is based on media info" Well duh? Its not like we know Barcelonas Sporting Director lol. People in Barcelona hate Bartomeu and wants him to leave the club, yet he refuse to do so. "To me it looks like that offer comes from a journalist mind, but who knows." Well, nah, because 130 million + 2-3 players is a pretty decent deal. Since Messis contract ends in 9 months AND two of the players City offered Barcelona is players they really want: Eric García and Angeliño.

It's a different deal. They can pay him any amount of money in NY because that's not an european team. If they have to pay 130M to Barcelona, then they have no more money to buy anyone else because of the fair play, that's why there's no deal.

"It's a different deal. They can pay him any amount of money in NY because that's not an european team." yeah of course. Btw, i typed wrong :d I obviously meant Manchester City at the "They want Messi to play in Barcelona for 3 or 4 years" part, haha. Well yeah, but they still need to replace Messi next season so.

He is only getting older and slower. No one wants to pay anything for him, you think they rejected many 200 million offers? Nope. Fair play rules make it so that teams struggle to pay his wages alone.

" No one wants to pay anything for him" Obviously if a football club could get X player for "free" they will sign the player lol, especially Messi. "you think they rejected many 200 million offers?" Well no? Because hes "Mr Barcelona" basically lol. But now, this year he said he wants to leave, so, then obviously clubs will go "Hey hey, come here", like City and New York City FC.

I dont think you understand the situation at all. He was NEVER actually going to leave, he was simply looking around, just to see which teams were interested. He is doing it to put pressure on Bartomeu. This is like the 10000th time Messi has been rumoured to leave Barcelona but it never actually happens. Look at this interview posted today youtube.com/watch?v=uyHi1FSuGkQ&t=518s&a..

2020-09-05 00:34
the thing is pretty easy: actually, the messi-clan is leeching more money out of barca than barca can afford. For years. Thats why there is beef with the club boss. they cant let him go for nothing and their only chance to get anything from a transfer is to gamble that some fcking arab says "I pay 300 Million to get him NOW or in winter"

The "spirit" of the deal made it clear that if he didn't want to play in the club he could leave for free at the end of the season. There's no way messi would leave in 30th of may when they were still fighting for la liga and the cl wasn't even in the quarter finals.
