TENET??
Other XTROIL
Any1 watched it? It was so fucking bad imo... Impressive how Nolan manages to get worse with each new movie, Interstellar and Dunkirk were already 4/10 but TENET is on the whole new level of bad...

I love this movie too. But do u readed the critics of Tropa de Elite around the world? None is positive. And about cidade de deus, the most part is positive because some actors was a trully bandits.

idgaf about critics, I've realized a long time ago that their opinion doesn't mean shit. The movie was a fucking banger, great story, acting (apart from that black student, I remember he was pissing me off) and AMAZING shooting scenes. I have it rated at 9/10, maybe I was a bit biased at the time cause I was amazed by Wagner Moura after watching Narcos. I think I'm going to rewatch both parts in the upcoming days. I also watched Cidade de Deus though it was a long time ago and I don't remember much from it. I have it at 6/10, can't really put a finger on what I didn't like about it, maybe I'll also give it a shot soon.

Try to watch the both movies with subtitle and the sound in portuguese, the acting of Wagner Moura and the rest of the movie was completelly awesome. Cidade de Deus too, Very perfect acting of a "favelado"

joker and dunkirk have a lot of stuff in common too. they are so good at one thing that it overshadows the not so great things in the movie. Joker has a not great scenario, but the acting was superb. Dunkirk has a flat scenario - survive n get back home, but the amazing scenes, and cinematography... and when u watch it in the movie theater... the sound editing was so good it makes you feel like you are in their shoes it includes u and makes you actually teriffied by just the sounds of those planes (my opinion obviously). Didnt see Tenent, couldnt tell u about that one for all i know about it u might be right

i think you need to expect smf different from this one than other popular war movies... because its usually one mission and the entire cast tries to complete it... this movie is different because none of the cast really have any mission other than just survive. I think Nolan was trying to portray realistically how that day truely happened... its less of a story movie and more of a movie that just includes the audience into the situation. wait for help... you move you die, no action heroes shooting down 30 + soldiers and putting a flag up their asses... no its like ''war anxiety- the movie''

I was confused for about 80% of the whole movie. I wouldn't say it was bad but it felt like it's too complicated unnecessarily. He tried too hard to create something extremely brainfucking. I liked Interstellar tho..

Tenet shud have been a series where he can explain things properly and show alot more fighting... it was pretty clear to me 2.3hr wasnt enough for him because some scenes was cut so fast and changed to something else to get space for everything... and honestly it didnt work out for what the movie wanna be.... because tenet got huge potential but not for a movie.

Clearly there is far more to it than just what we saw in tenet... alot of things to cover but clearly u didnt enjoy the movie at all or interested in the ''universe'' in any way so ofc it wud be boring to you. Series are literally killing movies every year.... and its quite hard today to tell everything u wanna tell in a movie bcus they are usually 2-3 hrs long and movies get bigger and bigger bcus ppl want more where series u can tell everything u wanna tell bcus u got unlimited amount of episodes to do so...

No tbh I liked the movie and I'd like Nolan to release a serie but I think it would make more sense to use Interstellar or Inception scenarios
2020-09-08 16:05
I can get behind this, its like he tried to make it as intricate as possible rather than making it entertaining which should be the main purpose of a movie, thats why I liked Interstellar, it was entertaining and intricate, whether it had plot holes or not.. Its like you had to think throughout the movie to follow whats going on rather than sitting back and enjoying it. Just like in school when you got to watch a movie but were forced to pay more attention and take notes.
2020-09-08 14:10

Honestly tenet is just too ''complicated'' and deep to be a movie... he shud rather make series where he can explain and make everything the way he want without having to rush and cut a shit ton to get space for everything.
2020-09-08 14:13
Yeah, the movie was confusing as hell. Anyone who says otherwise either has 180 IQ, watched the movie multiple times, or just lying to feel superior ("Oh, you didn't get it? I guess you aren't as big-brained as me, the protagonist. herpderp.")

2020-09-08 15:21
Interstellar was 10/10. Dunkirk also good but not to my taste. Tenet, I'll be honest, is probably his weakest film. The idea behind it is too complicated and I found it hard to make sense of it even with all the exposition. Looking past the confusing shit, the film still had its flaws. For example, I didn't understand why the main dude was so obsessed with the tall chick. Though, I liked Cedric Diggory's character.

Imagine being so stupid not to understand Tenet. Literally one of his easiest films to understand. I see you are also retard for not getting Dunkirk. It is not about "war" it is about fear, tension and paranoia. Perfectly executed. Interstellar very good until act 2 end, because it fails to connect the whole dramatic arc. Ending is what is is, but perfect if you actually know the meaning. Interstellar is in its core about how children and parents feel time differently. For children it feels eternity if parent is away (Nolan being away, because he is film maker). On the other hand for parents it feels like their children grow so fast. The ending where Cooper meets old Murph is about how Nolan wants to imagine his daughter. Here the old age is hope that she will grow to be better person than Nolan himself is (old age is seen as wisdom in history). In the death bed scene Nolan wants his daughter to forgive his absence as parent and also he wants her daughter to be able let go (often children hold on to their parent after death way too much) . Murph says in the movie "I have my kids here for me now -- you go"

You literally have to understand two thing, which both are explained twice (visual and dialogue) and that is all you need to understand it on the level the director wants. It gets complex if you slice every timeline and check if it holds. It is irrelevant to understanding the films message, feel and plot.

Dunkirk was solid. So was interstellar. What about them made you score them 4/10? Impossible to criticize the camera work, special effects or acting as they were all objectively well done. So did you not enjoy the writing? Interstellar's pacing is so well done, but if you aren't a fan of slower moving movies then sure you might not enjoy it. But if that somehow lowers it to a 4, thankfully you aren't a critic. Your judgement is obviously ridiculously off balance.

Really enjoyed it the first time, thoroughly enjoyed it the second time. I picked up on a ton of stuff the second time around that I couldn't initially make sense of but I'm still not getting certain stuff. I trust Nolan as a director and writer to work out the mechanics of the world he's built in a given movie so even though I haven't been able to work out how everything works, I give the movie a lot of leeway and assume I'll be able to make sense of it eventually. It won't go down as his greatest film (Dunkirk and TDK currently hold that position(s)) but it's a solid entry.
