Slayer? A bit obvious but I quite like them Also if ur into underground stuff try Cathedral, Electric Wizard, Cirith Ungol, Witchfynde, Witch, Stoned Jesus, Witchfinder General, Manowar, Five fingers deathpunch, etc etc Also I dont like all of those that much, but some of my friends do so I kinda accept it as good metal

came here to post Meshuggah, Opeth and Gojira hah Devin Townsend (lots of different albums and projects, check out Strapping Young lad for heaviest stuff) Vildhjarta, If you like Meshuggah you'll dig them.THALL Between the Buried and Me, proggy prog metal Dream Theater, GOATs of prog metal Archspire, crazy tech-death Rings of Saturn, not a big fan but check em out Northlane has really grown on me Wage War is not bad, also growing on me The Faceless, planetary duality album is sort of classic late 2000s tech death at this point The Contortionist, great band After the Burial, more Meshuggah inspired goodness, RIP Justin Lowe I almost said Pantera but then saw #3

What is metal
2020-09-09 18:15
1 reply
A metal is a material that, when freshly prepared, polished, or fractured, shows a lustrous appearance, and conducts electricity and heat relatively well. Metals are typically malleable (they can be hammered into thin sheets) or ductile (can be drawn into wires). A metal may be a chemical element such as iron; an alloy such as stainless steel; or a molecular compound such as polymeric sulfur nitride.

Fair enough, in which case he should dive into Dream Theater's discography

Helmet is a good alternative band, not metal but I find their Betty album quite good and heavy. Also, since it seems you like a bit of prog metal, check out TOOL's first album Undertow for some alternative/muddy sounds. Their later works like Lateralus are pretty good as well. If you fancy something a bit heavier than usual, check out Electric Wizard, stooner/doom metal band. Their song Black Mass is a good starting point.
2020-09-09 18:26
not really into metal but I listen to things on the lighter side but you should check Ne Obliviscaris youtube.com/watch?v=DrM2lo6B04I youtube.com/watch?v=fL1P6QXjnJc

Im sure it will be enough to do at least two listens. And even if you wont get everything it does you will have a fairly good understanding of the bands, but many do not enjoy binging music and if they want to take their time then thats all good
2020-09-10 06:25

yeah that's why i said it would take more time. can't binge a billion hours of different bands in a row
