Countries YOU have been to RANKED
rain |
Norway RainNumber1
Top 10 countries you have been to ranked: 1. Norway (havent seen better nature anywhere, I would choose Norway before any other country) 2. USA (I was there in 2014. I would never go there ever since Trump became President) 3. Carribean (several countries there and its fucking incredible) 4. Iceland (something completely different anything else, you have to visit) 4. Italy (Beautiful cities and beaches) 5. Greece (but just cause I was in a luxury villa, the rest of the country is dirty and shit) 6. France (beaches are beautiful and Paris > London 100%) 7. Spain (I have a Villa in Marbella, its a nice country, especially Ibiza and Formentara) 8. Croatia (just cause I was in a beautiful villa and had a insane private beach, but its a nice country tho) 9. Japan (cool place to visit, great food and toilets) 10. Switzerland (very beautiful country) The list would probably look different if I didnt stay in the beautiful Villas, but this is my list....... Most of you are on a low budget tho, so I expect completely different lists from you....... What is YOUR top 10 list of countries you HAVE been to ?

This could be a good thread, but you really don´t come across as a nice person. Very bad (and unscandinavian) style to brag about wealth, even if it´s true. Sound arrogant in several of your replies.

2020-09-16 19:48
Omfg you are stupid af. Can you please tell me how much more expensive it is to live in Norway compared to India? Doesn’t matter if you make 15 times af much, if it’s 20 times as expensive to live there. Maybe try to educate yourself.
2020-09-17 04:01
well if you make 4K (average Indian salary) u cant travel/have a vacation, u can just survive with food, a shitty house and so on...... while if u make 60-70K (average norwegian salary) u can have a nice house, all food u want and a lot more, like vacation and that........ your kinda braindead arent you?.....

it seems you appreciation for a country only comes from monetary expenses and leisure, try not to be a spoiled bitch for one time, and take you time to take in history, monuments, and the different cultures you visit, you fuckwit, like you would do in your home country, norway. Need i make myself clearer, or are you still too slow for informal and loose english? maybe we can try other languages to get you to understand

swamps > mountains there you go NORWAY. I've visited plenty of places, but i will drop out all that I've only been in cities since they are mostly boring. My list (visited): 1. Iceland - Totally different as OP said. Incredible place and there is nothing like it. You watch it from the plane and you don't see any trees almost anywhere. A lot of waterfalls, volcanic activity Geysers, Volcanos, and Glaciers which move under your feet making this massive low sound moaning. It really makes you feel small. 2. USA - shitty people but SO much to see in the nature e.g. "northern rainforest" in Olympic state park near Seattle or the dry desert Canyons. 3. Indonesia - Beautiful places but a bit dirty and crowded. Best diving I've had. Also good place to surf. 4. Finland - When you go swimming directly from sauna at finnish lakeside, you'll understand. Also Turku archipelago area is cool. 5. France - Mont Blanc area is beautiful, good skiing. Also I like Paris, the people and the culture. 6. Italy - Had some road trip around. Smaller Mediterranean villages are really cool. People very talkative compared to Finland. 7. Portugal - cool coast, cliffs and stuff, good surfing. 8. Austria - Alps are beautiful, cool places to ski. Alpine villages are very idyllic. 9. Norway - Have been only hiking and skiing, but haven't been on the coast side yet. That's why it is still losing to Austria which is better in that perspective, but a great place still Special mentions: Estonia - Cheap booze. Latvia - Even cheaper booze Netherlands - 420 (nothing else really) Germany - Good techno scene and drugs atleastin Berlin. Even better in the east I know Sweden - SNUS Places would like to go: Japan - food, culture Russia - have been there many times but only big cities which are shitty, would love to see the nature e.g. in Siberia and national parks near the White Sea) Australia
2020-09-17 11:48
the coast is literally the best part of Norway.... no point of visiting Norway if your not driving along the coast...
2020-09-17 13:34
1) England (my fav place ever) 2) Canary Islands (Amazing views and weather) 2) Thailand (Been 3-4 times, great beaches) 3) Sri Lanka (Lived for 4 years, Amazing hotels, nice weather) 4) Singapore (Great if you wanna spend money) 5) Canada (Live here currently. The niceness is to spread out) 6) USA (Can't really judge, only went to 1 state)
2020-09-16 16:12

Netherlands 9. Denmark (Basically like Sweden, but with nicer people. Also, I live 30 minutes away from Denmark so nothing special about going there) 10. Spain/Germany/France/Sweden/Belgium (Nothing special) Worst: Turkey (Antalya. Hotel was ok but rest was just dirty)

1. Switzerland (I'd like to live there someday) 2. Denmark 3. Austria 4. Germany 5. France 6. Spain (mainland and Canary Islands) 7. Greece 8. Thailand 9. Italy 10. UK Other countries I have been to: Sweden, Estonia, China, Poland And also I live in Finland and love the country but didn't rank it here since I live there. Pretty much the same thing with Sweden since it's quite similar to Finland in many ways (I lived in there for a month).

1-USA (2000-2014) - good old days when we had a cute family house in LA but Orlando is okay too. 2-Denmark - educated and smart people, also very good country :) 3-Norway - just been to Oslo, lovely country but there is nothing special with weather tbh. 4-Turkey - better than European countries for sure.A lot cheaper and better food. They don't know English but they were always nice to me and helpful also good holiday locations. 5-Australia - red sand beach was the best place i've ever visited.good country but bad geography and weather. 6-Canada - i mean it was just like USA so i wasn't really interested. 7-Chile - had a little summer vacation there.good country but there weren't many things to do. 8-Germany - döner was nice but it was made by turkish guy so point to turks. 9-Switzerland - was an awesome trip to Cern but too expensive. 10-France - i had gone there to learn french before the university was a good experience but didn't have much time to travel around the country still saw the eiffel tower :!

2020-09-16 17:05
Fake list no finland on top 3
2020-09-16 19:50
1. Germany (very big country so there is something to like for everyone) 2. Mexico (nice weather, incredibly nice people) 3. Spain (very pretty cities like Cordoba, Malaga, Sevilla etc) 4. Belgium (similar to NL but little more relaxed imo) 5. Czech Republic (very nice cities, amazing beer as well) 6. Italy (beautiful country, amazing food) 7. Denmark (too similar to my home country so wasn't really special) 8. France (beautiful country but I found most of the people to be arrogant :( ) 9. UK (decent landscaping and some nice cities, I especially liked York, but the people are a bit too arrogant for my liking and the weather isn't that great compared to other European countries)
2020-09-16 19:54
Visited quite a few - 33. I'll just rank the top5 and worst5 1.Iceland 2.Austria 3.Taiwan 4.Japan 5.Poland ------------------------------------- many countries here - some are solid top5 candidates, many are solid top5 worst .. and a few are just in the middle ------------------ *Romania would make the top 5 worst, but i can't say i've been to it. So i excluded it. 29. Very tough choice. So i'm gonna go with - If i have to pick 1 to never be able to visit again - then that would be Greece. 30. Czechia 31. Latvia 32. Singapore 33. Bosnia
2020-09-16 20:15
Why Singapore is on one of your worst list? I thought western people love Singapore
2020-09-17 06:28
some of the major issues -very high noticeable discrimination inside the country, but also towards foreigners -plastic plants everywhere on the streets -most things seem fake and lifeless (atmosphere included) -lack of culture (goes with the fake part) -there's not much to do or see after the 2nd day, considering how big the city/country is -a lot of things are way way waaaay overpriced -in asia -> worst sim card tourist trap at the airport - which is a disgrace more than a problem, if even Bali isn't that bad minor issues -people don't know how to behave in traffic - drivers being robotic can be quite annoying -lack of space in many areas -bad food -almost no phone/internet signal in that Nature Reserve, 'the best internet in the world' guys ... -poor english skills especially from the chinese But i can say, it was an experience worth having, and while i personally did not like it, it's a place everyone should go and judge for themselves how they feel about it.

1. Singapore 2. Canada 3. Hongkong (I'll include it. It's actually so nice) 4. China (In my heart #1. Maybe it's also cause I have some background there) 5. Portugal (went there to volunteer. Damn is it nice) 5. Cuba (The beaches and resorts are so relaxing. I got tanned, but it was worth it.) 7. USA (Honestly just inferior to Canada in almost every way. Last time I've been there was a year ago. Nothing really eye catching in a tourist point of view. Mainly just go for those social events (business related) like conferences etc) Not enough time spent: Britain (I was really only there for a few days, so I couldn't really judge it. Maybe it was because I just stayed in the hotel the most of the time in London) Not enough time spent: Germany, I've been there, but don't remember anything Planning on visiting: Paris, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Britain again, Macao, Turkey, Spain, Thailand Going to Korea and Japan the next summer. Might go to France as well. We'll see.

1. Poland (everything is great) 2. Croatia (Weather and water are beautiful, easy to comunicate in Polish, food ok, beaches could be better) 3. Greece (just like Croatia but comunication is harder) 4. UK (scotland) (Beautiful country, food ok, scotish-english was hard to understand, weather typical UK) 5. Slovakia (Been there like 6 times, good water parks, bad food, language very similar to polish) 6. Italy (Been there only for 6-7 hours in airport and shoping mall next to airport) 7. Czech republic (I was there like 9 years ago so the only thing I remember was the city where I were - Prague 8. Hungary (been there only once while going to Croatia by the car at night) 9. Egipt (I was there when I was 7 y.o so I don't remember anything)

1. Japan, very respectful culture and beautiful areas. 2. Iceland, amazing scenery, Black Lagoon was great, ice climbing also very enjoyable. 3. UK. Nothing quite like home ofc, most comfortable place as well as lots of nature and good people where I live. 4/5/6. Bulgaria/Croatia/Cyprus, cheap, decent people, nice areas (e.g. villages). 7. South Africa, was nice to visit went on safari and saw plenty of animals. 8. Spain/Portugal 9. Russia 10. Egypt. Been there like 10 times already, so kinda used to it. Honourable mentions; amerikkka, madagascar, dubai
2020-09-17 07:40
What about Russia?
2020-09-17 19:14
I have been to Moscow and St Petersburg and a palace nearby, completely forgot the name (oops). A culture shock for sure, but very interesting historically. Seeing the Kremlin and the red square et cetera was cool. I have heard outside of these cities it is mostly nothing, but I would like to go back to go on the Trans-Siberian train line just to tick that off my bucket list.
2020-09-17 21:19
''A culture shock for sure'' elaborate pls
2020-09-17 21:36
Well, I wasn't used to having homeless ppl rummage through the bins next to my hotel, being shoulder barged in the metro by a drunk, having to be somewhat careful even in daylight. You don't see many people smile in Russia, in England if you pass someone or hold the door for them, a sheepish sort of shrug small smile and nod is common. The huge looming buildings in the streets of Moscow is nothing like anywhere in England. It is really quite interesting. I enjoyed it to be honest! I hate America in comparison, at least in Russia the usual drunk will embrace their stupidity and are more or less chill. Americans are too loud and arrogant for my liking. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I would definitely feel more comfortable in Russia than America (despite the opposite that Russia is more dangerous is probably true).

1. Finland: People are like stereotypes friendly but quiet, nature was beautiful like in any other nordic country, a bit expensive though. 2. Ireland: Friendly people, good nature pretty cheap. Streets were a bit dirty and couldn't walk anywhere without smelling cigarettes 3.Denmark, When I visited it was kinda hard to find an English speaker (probably different now), everything was expensive af, Copenhagen was a fun city otherwise. 4. Germany: Clean streets and it was pretty quiet in the smaller cities, cheap af, sadly no one could speak any english, great beer though
2020-09-17 10:22
pretty cheap the fuck you on about ? we got one of the highest cost of livings in Europe cause we got fucked over by the banks in 2008 but yes the Nature is the real tourist thing about this place

Well I don't plan to live there overall travel was cheap as hell
2020-09-18 09:51
yea i can see that the main advice i'd give to anyone visiting Ireland is please go outside the city's to the more rural towns and villages that's the real heart of the country places like Newgrange , the blarney Stone, Cliffs Of Moher , all out in the rual parts

2020-09-17 11:27
Been to a resounding 6 countries. UK, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden and Germany and here's how I'd rank them: 1. Netherlands, very friendly people. Weed. I like techno and went to techno nightclubs there, which were great. And very "dense", which was a good thing imo. I mean that highlights of the country are close to each other. 2. Sweden, Beautiful country, looking down from a plane I hadn't seen anything like it before (1st time in a plane, so that makes sense I guess lol). I enjoyed the museums, but the beer was expensive. 3. Belgium, first of all, weird place. But it's still a pretty funny experience to me to just cross borders willy-nilly. Wouldn't particularly call it a "beautiful" country, but the beer was good and manneke pis was funny. 4. France, not gonna lie, felt like there are like 2 worlds in France. The shitty, dirty big cities and then the awesome smaller coastline towns. Paris was trash, but Honfleur was a-ma-zing. 5. UK. 4 and 5 are pretty much a shared position between France and the UK for the same reasons. Maybe UK should be 4 cuz I speak the language and I associate more with it's history. But yeah.
2020-09-17 11:32
Only country I wouldnt vissit again is china, and i could probably visit there but i was in beijing the air was too shitty. I sneeze and black shit comes out of nose instead of normal stuff..

1. UK (Best trains, food from all over the world, the pub culture, great history and really good shopping) 2. France (Great food, history and culture) 3. Greece (Best food in the world, really good weather and nice beaches) 4. Italy (Nice food, warm, great culture) 5. Russia (Nice shopping and food but nothing else really, WC was really good though) 6. Finland (Same as Sweden, better culture though) 7. Sweden (I'm from here, cold and boring) 8. Vaitcan (Does it even count?) Yes, I know I mention food a lot, but that is the thing I enjoy most of travelling.
2020-09-17 13:50
What's the point of putting your country on the list when the thread is about traveling? I don't think you'd like to live in Greece and Russia, 2nd world countries may be good for traveling but living there is a much different thing.
2020-09-17 14:15
So you can't travel in your own country? Sweden is pretty diverse when it comes to culture and nature.
2020-09-17 14:13
I wasn't arguing that your country is placed too high.
2020-09-17 14:16
I'm not OP but I think it's a very good thing to travel in your own country. Sweden is a big country and going just a few hundred kilometers north or south will completely change the climate, people and culture. It's an experience. I'm sure it's the same in Serbia, but I've never been there. So yes, in a thread about travelling I think your own country qualifies.
2020-09-17 14:21
I am not saying It doesn't qualify, I think it's just better to exclude it bcz ppl tend to be biased, like either underestimating your own culture (grass is always greener elsewhere) or overestimating it (bcz you love your country). Wealth wise, I don't think anyone can rly be objective at all soo rating would make even less sense as you never have to work a day in the country you travel to.
2020-09-17 14:30
Good point! On that part I agree with you, but I also disagree because this thread isn't about objective facts of where is the best to travel, rather people's personal opinions of the countries they have been to. If this thread was "Top 10 factually best countries" then yeah, I'd agree with you fully. That's not what the thread is.
2020-09-17 14:33

2020-09-17 14:18
This is such a bad bait but it's actually a good topic of discussion so: 1. Sweden, home sweet home! 2. France, beautiful country and people, just a special vibe that you can't get anywhere else. 3. Denmark, for me going to Denmark is like being at home but still being on vacation. It's different yet familiar. That's comforting for me, it's just good for a casual day-trip if you just wanna get some new environment while not spending too much money or going too far from home. 4. Germany, it's sad that I need to put it so far down but I have not travelled much, my trip to Germany was a really good trip, but I'd rather have gone to France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Italy.
2020-09-17 14:19

Every nation has something and also ranking a whole country as one is really, well just terrible since often there is great places and not so great places - the same can even be true within the same city. And there is some countries which is best in fx. the summer while others are best avoided on that time of year. My list: Norway Germany Italy Switzerland England Sweden Netherlands France Austria Belgium Luxembourg Hungary Poland No numbers since everywhere is pretty much equal, it more a question of exactly what you there for when going.

Nice list!

Thank you. Visiting new places is a hobby of mine, but I must admit a few on the list have been work travel and not just for fun.

1. Brazil (yeah, "flag checks out", but just google it "Bonito MS Brazil" or "Jericoacoara" and you'll understand, also people in general over here don't really know the best parts of the country) 2. Bolivia (Salar de Uyuni, Copacabana, Atacama Desert...) 3. Ecuador (Cotopaxi is awesome) 4. Netherlands (friendly people, great weed) 5. Peru (Machu Picchu) 6. Germany (I'm not really into big cities, but I do like Berlim) 7. Uruguay (nice beaches, great weed) 8. Austria (if you're into classical music, is the best place in the world)

5. Greece (but just cause I was in a luxury villa, the rest of the country is dirty and shit) Wow someone is mad, Greece is literally the most beatiful place ever. mine 1.Georgia (Really good wine and nice beaches and friendly people,) 2.Russia (Friendly people nice history only minus is that its more expensive than Georgia) 3.Tajikistan (Not bad but my least favourite).
2020-09-18 15:13
6. Turkey. Good beach/poolside type vacation but really nothing to do outside of that. And looking back, a lot of CIS people act cringey as fuck when they go there. I've been to Turkey 4 times, every time with my family (2003, 2005, 2009, 2015) 5. Cyprus. Don't remember much but food was good. And a lot of antique architecture. Went with family (2011) 4. Greece. Been to Greece two times, first time on Rhodes, second time metropolian Greece. Food was off the charts. Wi-fi was trash tho. But it was 2012 and 2014. Went with family. 3. France. It was amazing experience but people don't really speak English or just don't want to so it was hard to communicate. Went there with my friends (2019) 2. Spain. Really humid air, went there on August of 2017 with my dad. City life is mindboggling, and I also enjoyed Spanish food REALLY REALLY MUCH! Paella, gazpacho, tapas were FUCKING INSANELY AMAZINGLY GOOD. So it's definitely great. Also went to Canary Islands in 2013 with my whole family but it was just a beach/poolside type vacation. 1. Italy. Food, good people, AMAZING MINDBLOWING ARCHITECTURE. A bit pricey, but it was totally worth it. I went only with my dad in 2010, but I remember we basically visited almost every major city in 2 weeks. It was fantastic. Countries I'd like to visit: UK, Ireland, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea.

OP, youre like 14, and your arguments are very thin. Get 18, get 7-8 years behind your back travelling without mom and dad, and then come back to make a list worth reading. Staying at holiday resorts with your family doesnt give you a wide perspective of a country at all.

1. Spain - sunny funny cozy , they dont even need to develop their economy tbh, they got everything u need to be happy 2. France- depressive shithole for citizens ( they got like highest suicide rates in europe according to eurostat) but cool to travel there . very cool. 3. Austria- calm , laid back and highways (those 100 m over ground and tunnels) are cool. 4. Poland - i live here now 5. Italy - similar to spain but people are shittier and agressive 6. Croatia - cheap heaven in summer , outside of season shithole 7. Germany - everything is proper but boring af. 8. Sweden - even more boring than Germany. Meeeeeeeeeeeennnnsss this is the most boring country i the world tbh. Just same houses some blocks of flats and literally 3 copies of trees put everywhere like in some shitty 1990 zx spectrum game. I would die there after 2 weeks 9. Czechia-Underrated but very similar to Ukraine (except Prague) 10. Ukraine . Underrated af if u ask me. Not even that bad if u compare it with some shitty lithuania or latvia or estonia.
