Finnish and Swedish as the fluent 1st languages. Plus English in T1 league and German in T2 (okey, maybe T3 really because hardly ever needed in years, so very rusty) language skill league.
2020-09-17 11:13
are you finlandswedish?

Finn. And I cheer for Finland in ice-hockey if the final is FIN-SWE. If Finland is not playing in the finals then cheering for SWE. Language doesn't really define you as a person. There are people who speak Saami as the first language, but are those people FinlandSaamis?
2020-09-17 11:18
idk i guess not, i havent heard that word being used.

True. Only Finns and Elves in the middle earth who all are in T1 level. I let J.R.R. Tolkien himself to explain this: middleearthreflections.com/2018/09/04/in.. Someone to learn Finnish language does require T1 skills in SISU. When you understand the meaning of this Finnish word then you are ready to take the next step to learn Finnish language :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisu bbc.com/worklife/article/20180502-sisu-t..

Finland ftw, forced learning of swedish should be abolished. If our government wants us to succeed why do they force us to learn swedish that is a small language when they can give our students a say what they learn, english should be mandatory tho but they should give alternative to swedish for example french/russian/german/italian/spanish... I speak finnish/english/and swedish in a sense that i got 5 in high school for swedish...
2020-09-17 11:25
hard agree as a suomenruotsalainen idk why people should learn my native language when we live in Finland and when like every suomenruotsalainen knows how to speak finnish or atleast english
2020-09-17 11:23
Im PS too and agreed, if students were asked they would support my/our position...

My grandparents from my father's side were from Finland, I would have finnish surname but my mother's side insisted we take my mother's surname. I cant speak finnish though, my grandparents were kinda shunned by rest of the family and really looked down on, bullied even. I miss them, they were very nice to me when they were allowed to see us grandchildren and they called me somewhat frequently, we spoke in english as their swedish was very broken. I like finnish people a lot and have been to Finland many times thanks to my work
2020-09-18 11:13
Wow, that's a interesting story man! It's sad that they got bullied though, people shouldn't be discriminated because of their language. Thanks for sharing man.
2020-09-18 11:15
