BlameF best mentality
 |
United States HLTVisFullOfMeanies
BlameF has to be the most motivated and dedicated player I have ever seen in CSGO. We finally have a real sportsman's mentality in the game now. This is the personality of professional soccer (rage and seethe in the comments below) player that is destined for the big leagues. A real man's mentality is going to crush all these overpaid, chubby, lazy, sissyboys. clips.twitch.tv/MistyUglyWafflePeteZarol..

Haha, Swedish scene may not be on top right now but we have a promising future. Especially if you would compare it to any asian country. You guys are way behind. And even though im born and bred in Sweden, my mother is Danish. So whichever way we try to bend this, viking blood will always be on top.

Good for him, normal person should strive to enjoy life as much as 10% as he does
2020-09-18 00:49
Good player That's sad some noobs call him a baiter, he's one of the best IGLs right now and he deserved it
2020-09-18 00:50
He does bait a lot (i have seen some of the complexity games and he baited) but if its legitimate tactic and not statpadding it can be excused in some cases.
2020-09-18 01:31
I mean they just won vitality and he was performing really well... sure does seem to get them wins.
2020-09-18 01:39
Its not like i am throwing him under the bus for it but lets be honest with ourselves he baits, he actually calls fair ammount of rounds arround himself. some teams work like this... Happy won major and major MVP like this...
2020-09-18 01:51
He admits it himself, he was rewatching one of his demo's and joking about how he's always last alive etc
2020-09-18 02:21
I mean that's one style of IGLing... Pronax used to jump first every god damn round, and blamef is last alive :D as long as the team is winning I don't see it as a problem :P
2020-09-18 02:26
I never said it was some despicable thing to do, most people bait for stats he baits for win he is alright in my books
2020-09-18 03:25
its much more nuanced than just getting a kill these days. it's more about the space you create with your kills. partly like why i dislike s1mple so much is that he seems to be getting a lot of frags, but he really doesn't create space like a lot of other players do. this is in general is a fault of navi, because they've got the firepower, but not the strats. it's why teams like og, heroic, etc. can make the match look hard for navi and they manage to win only because of some impossible clutch or some amazing multikill. it's kind of like winning a boxing match with a lucky punch.
2020-09-18 03:45
I dont think you create spac for your team with baiting but blame seems to play like guerrila on some T rounds and he need info from his team for that i think he wants these kind of rounds because he wins a lot of them
2020-09-18 15:54
you can create space for the team by baiting it just depends on the angles..
2020-09-18 16:16
Well depends on how its setup but generally you dont create much space with baiting.

Tbh its a nice change to see an IGL confident enough in himself to base some plays around it and set himself up in the high impact situations. I've always thought the way most IGLs sacrifice their personal performance so hard is not effective in the long run.
2020-09-18 09:00
Every team is baiting for players with precise aim. He's very talented rifler and that's why they bait for him, just like NaVi bait for s1mple or Faze for coldzera (who can't kill no matter what) But we can't say that he only gets baited frags, he can solo kill 3-4 guys when holding position. I know you admit that he's good but a lot of people say that he is bad and only get baited kills what is wrong. This is comment is for them ^^
2020-09-18 13:49
Yes but other teams like Navi often crash and burn even when other players than s1mple perform, complexity on other hand has other win conditions than one good player.
2020-09-18 15:55
Yeah I like that all of them can be on fire (players like k0nfig or obo can carry hard) while in NaVi you have only s1mple and electronic
2020-09-18 17:29
poizon shows up sometimes and i have seen rush completly dismantle teams on nuke for example
2020-09-18 17:33
He does bait quite a bit, but that is not a bad thing as it is clearly working for Complexity.
2020-09-18 14:07
2020-09-18 15:06
I completely agree, I don't even know why baiting has a negative connotation to begin with. BlameF is a monster.
2020-09-18 15:35
Because most baiters you meet in the game are braindead retards who cant win duel unless they refrag thats why so many people hate baiters.
2020-09-18 15:56
Imagine thinking baiting exists in t1 cs

I think Stewie2k is up there as well. Imagine the hardships he had to go through with his parents to even become a pro. BlameF's mom was atleast supportive of him and follows all his games.
2020-09-18 00:52
+1 absolutely no support from your parents is VERY difficult when you are trying to excel
2020-09-18 00:53
Yep. Imagine how dumb they must feel today seeing their son earn more money than them and hearing him be totally honest about his parents not supporting him in pursuing his passion.
2020-09-18 01:00
I'm sure they're more disappointed with themselves :/ tbh I'm not sure if I would've acted differently because stew was skipping school and ignoring schoolwork. A hard situation all around tbh
2020-09-18 01:03
Yeah. I just saw Liquid's video on EliGE yesterday and his mom was quite worried when he told her he was dropping out of school despite being one of the best students. But atleast she supported him. Ofcourse I can understand a parents concern. But then again; Forcing a kid to give up his passion to go do something he doesn't want to is not really a solution either. Atleast here in Denmark you can combine an education with an esports program now so kids can hopefully pursue both at the same time.

stewie2k literally streams hours of valorant and probs plays way too much valorant/other games for a pro player who is struggling to keep up recently. 100% nowhere near as motivated as blamef.. there used to be a time where pro cs players would say "if u wanna make it in csgo u have to dedicate yourself to it u cannot play other games"
2020-09-18 02:22
I think Stewies titles speak for themselves. "You're not gonna win a major if you play other games". "You won't be number one if you don't practice CS 12 hours a day". "No way in hell someone who doesn't spend every waking hour practising CS can win the Grand Slam".
2020-09-18 02:25
2 years ago yes he did great things and he was once a very good player and looked very dedicated for a NA player. But when u stream/are on other's stream playing valorant for hours and then u look at his recent performances its obvious that he doesn't have that discepline anymore.
2020-09-18 02:27
Astralis was the undisputed best team for quite some time. Even they said it isn't about practising all the time. It's about practising smart.
2020-09-18 02:29
Yeah but astralis players don't go play hours of hours on other fps game's especially when they are in a slump. Even the NA players who play in EU teams now (like RUSH and OBO) say that the motivation and dedication in na is lacking so hard and that its way better to improve by playing in europe. And a big difference atm between eu and na players is that like half of the na pro's play valorant constantly and eu they dont
2020-09-18 02:31
Afaik some of them play LoL at times. Players like EliGE played (I don't know if it's still the case) a lot of Starcraft (and is it F0rest who does that too? Or maybe it's LoL). I think you can only push your mechanical skill so far and when you reach that skill ceiling you have you can practice for 20000 hours more and still not get better. At that point it's more mentality playing a major role. And if you are the type of person who needs to go play Minecraft to wind down and relax so be it. I don't believe in a neverending skill increase if you just keep doing the same thing over and over. At some point you realize there's other factors that are more important to give you a benefit (sports psychologists, nutritionists, physical workout, winding down for a while instead of suffering burnout etc). I think getting better is way more complicated than just keep doing the same over and over.
2020-09-18 02:45
Not sure I agree entirely with your point on stewie's dedications but I agree with the rest. It's like you're pouring too much energy for something that's going to get 0.05% of improvement or god knows how much. It's way smarter to dedicate yourself on something that is going to get 3-4% or even more of improvement with less work.

Yeah, I think for the most part he has accomplished what he wants to and lost that motivation, that drive. Old stewie could rival BlameF's work ethic. It kind of sucks to see stew kind of losing interest, though. He isn't old or anything.

Past few days Tarik has been streaming and Stewie is playing several hours of pugs with him daily on top of whatever TL is doing. I have no idea if he normally plays that much or not. Anyone claiming to know about how much or little work players are putting in because they stream valorant 3x a month is talking out their ass.

i said "dislike" i myself like him too
2020-09-18 01:15
2020-09-18 01:18
You sure you understand? Most of the time it's used as an excuse by people who think they awesome, buy cant understand why everyone else dont think they are. BlameF is awesome and dedicated, i doubt you can find any Scandinavian bias against him.
2020-09-18 06:42
It's was mostly meant as a fun gesture but the Law of Jante is real. Being too good or too popular isn't seen as a virtue but rather as a vice. BlameF is not there yet. But lets say he dominates the next 2-3 years. Then you'll surely start to see Danes complaining about him and his overblown ego (not that he has any but that's what they'll say).
2020-09-18 06:45
I know its real, but the context that the novel was written in was a poor mans working town, where it was frowned upon to be upper class / highly educated. Its a bit of a stretch and a cliché to just expand it to scandinavian mentality as a whole. But obviously if you can prove BlameF to be more hated among scandinavian fans, you could have a point. I just dont see it as of now.
2020-09-18 13:51
It's actually meant as satire but it has a ring of truth to it especially for scandinavians and our focus on equality, not acting all too high and mighty etc. And it isn't only bad. It also means no matter how much money you make your shit still stinks just like the poorest guy out there and you shouldn't feel more deserving to happiness than he does.
2020-09-18 14:42

Still he has a long way to go if he wants to play on a s1mple level.
2020-09-18 01:23
lmk when s1mple can igl and put his time into demo watching and counterstrating s1mples great individually but we won’t see a player like blamef for a long while
2020-09-18 01:27
bullshit, Ingame he isn't very different from all other fragging IGL. And even there with Happy we had the best fragging IGL +2 times major winner. You probably watch csgo since yesterday.
2020-09-18 01:29
id like to see happy in 2020 omegalul this is the most competitor era of cs and lurkers are typically seen as a dead role. and happy best fragging igl? he wasn’t better than gla1ve 2018 or fallen 2016-2017 lmao blamef is completely different from happy. not to mention blamef popped onto the tier 1 scene after around 2 years of tier 2 cs, happy played since source and 1.6
2020-09-18 01:33
Id likes to see BlameF in 5 years. LUL Every player has his time, but BlameF isn't there where Happy was. Come back when he won 2 majors. get a major MVP and be the saviour for a whole cs country scene
2020-09-18 01:36
pronax 4 majors > blamef 0 majors then blamef in 5 years would still be a tier 1 igl. s1mple after 5 years of being a breakout player is a top 2 player still xaxaxaxaxa unexpected from jerman
2020-09-18 01:47
all that you say is in your fantasy. What I mentioned are facts set in stone of csgo history. And S1mple shows that he is the best. Zywho without a team that plays only for him is just a top 5 player no top1 material. Even Electronic is better than zywho without a 4 man lineup that plays for you.
2020-09-18 02:00
What? zywoo is still insane and playing better then electronic lmao. S1mple is the one who has 4 people playing FOR him, maybe they should change that and s1mple will lose alot of high stats but atleast the team can win some more consistently!
2020-09-18 02:33
blamef work ethic is unmatched
2020-09-18 01:39
His work ethic is very good that isn't sth I questioned. But that doesn't mean others is less good. He had to learn and practice in a very short time others do it their whole life and so at top level they have to focus on other things than just to play DM 4 hours.
2020-09-18 01:57
BlameF does more for his team then s1mple does for navi, so what do u mean? navi is still in this old and bad mentality of playing around 1 person and thinking its gonna work, setting up s1mple for 80% of his picks or setting him up to trade/be in every clutch is never gonna make them win a major. A great igl who has the dedication to anti-strat and outplay the enemy team by watching their demos so much has way higher chances
2020-09-18 02:25
S1mple won tournaments alone for navi. So I quit reading after that.
2020-09-18 02:26
Yeah because its s1mple.. just imagine how good navi would be though if they still had s1mple but also let other players shine and have s1mple actually support other teammates from time to time.
2020-09-18 02:29
unlike zywho navi don't play specifically for s1mple. he makes his game independent from crazy team support. Imagine Navi without S1mple and then Electronic as carry. No contender for tournament wins.
2020-09-18 02:57
BlameF has been 1 year with this team and is having the best period of his career right now. Of course he´s not feeling burnt out. But maybe after 2 more years at this level or higher - like Glaive? Not critisicing what he´s doing right now - it´s great. COL could easily be a top 5 regular for years to come. But the pressure will get harder at some point if they do.
2020-09-18 01:26
Just normal mentality o_O I don't see anything special tbh
2020-09-18 01:32
mentality or not. you can't compare a blamef who has only been playing at this high level for a year with an rbk, shoxi or apex. these 3 have been at this level for a decade. blameF is just young and hungry at the moment.
2020-09-18 01:32
According to all his past teammates, he's been that since he started playing cs this is him 2 years ago twitter.com/blameFFFFF/status/1045442556.. for context, the rest of the team all went to the pub or something to forget the L

he's built different no question, but burnout is totally real and I can see why many players need to take breaks even though they love their job. non stop traveling and practice would take a toll on anyone. especially if you've been doing it for over 5 years like olof or xyp

he works really hard, and haters can't accept it. They inmediately start to compare him with more experienced IGLs and stuff, no brain logic. He's in the early stage of his career, let the man make a path first before bashing him off.
2020-09-18 02:31
it's a nice guy, but maybe he's way emotionally invested in this last game I've seen from him I sware he was about to cry if his team didn't win one round, at some specific moment if this is really the case, burnout will hit hard when it arrives, and certainly will

COL is the best international team in the world atm The only teams that are better than COL are all teams with only one nationality present (maybe Vitality, maybe Astralis, NaVi, maybe Herooic and so on and so forth) Though if COL goes far in this tournament they might end up being #1 in EU (which basically means the world)
