Preventing burnout?
 |
Finland King_Of_Finland
A few months before the summer break I started being extremely tired all the time. I wouldn't say it was burnout, but I feel like if I didn't have the summer break it would have most likely gone there. I was a basically half a sleep every day for a couple of months and when the summer break started I felt a lot better. Now I've been in school for a few weeks and I'm starting to get more and more tired. Like it takes ages for me to wake up, I'm very tired at school and am missing half of the stuff the teacher is trying to teach and when I get home I almost fall a sleep at 7/8pm when I usually have gone to sleep 12-1am. Any tips on what I should do to prevent failing this years classes because of being too tired?

just take a break like csgo pros but you have to cry on twitter first

Can't really afford to take a break. I'd be in school for extra 1 or 2 years if I did. I'd also have to do my military service (6-12m) which would most likely lead to me failing the most important exams I'd have to do after I'm done with my classes.

the dude exercise and sunlight but prob lack of sleep coz he keeps drinking.
2020-09-24 13:57
Don't smoke, drink coffee or alcohol. Already exercise and try to get as much fresh air as possible. Sunlight will be and is a bit of a problem so I guess I'll have to look into getting the vitamins some other way.

Perhaps you work out too hard for too long period of time and your endocrine system needs a break.
2020-09-24 12:11
Hmm, do you have a good diet? Are you getting everything your body needs. Maybe you should try and speak to a doctor if it persists, if you really are as healthy as you make out
2020-09-24 12:13
Yeah I haven't really thought about my eating habits. I don't eat unhealthy foods but I don't necessarily eat healthy foods either. Seems like I have to look into fixing my diet so that I would for sure get everything I need. Day by day it's getting darker in here so getting vitamin D is getting harder so that could for sure be the reason for this.
2020-09-24 12:16
Haha yeah it's similar in the UK! :D Cut down on sugars and wheat ect. Try and stick to a largely carniverous diet, so anything from animals. Milk, eggs, cheese, meats with fruits and veg. Avoid frozen/microwave stuff (easier said than done obviously) All the best friend, hope you start feeling better soon
2020-09-24 12:20
Yeah thanks for the help! I really need to look more on this!
2020-09-24 12:21

2020-09-24 12:05
I doubt it. I feel fine apart from being tired af.
2020-09-24 12:06
Maybe this seems unintuitive, but do some exercise if you can, any kind is good to activate your body.
2020-09-24 12:11
#23 When I do exercise I feel more energized but after I stop it just feels like it got twice as bad and I have to go sleep right away. Couple of people have said it might be the food I'm eating. I'm not a doctor obviously but I guess that could explain me being more tired after burning trough the stuff my body needs while exercising or something like that.

The key to success is scheduled balance. You aren’t getting much sleep, so start by forcing yourself to be focused and complete work within a reasonable time limit. Make sure to balance hard work with recreation, or the problem won’t be fixed.

during quarantine i played 150hours of cs by 2 weeks and gone from lvl2 to 4 with 20 and 1.1 KD playing fix and entry now i wake up at 6 and i am home at 17h30 ,my job isn't particularly tiri,g nut i dont fucking know why i just can't aim correcly and do dum decisions all the time, almost down to lvl 2 since a month i played faceit... I cant fucking even be in postive in MM , edit:oh and my GPU died nice so if any1 could also help with my problem LOL
2020-09-24 12:10
I peaked at lvl 5 playing 6 hours a day over a holiday. My form has dropped ever since, but I learned to accept I’m not going to be amazing at CS.. So, don’t take the game very seriously. If people trash talk you in game, remember they are never going to be anybody in CS either. Is only a game)

oh i just basically stopped faceit , i just have fun with nova friends in MM,but i am the type of person taht is addicted to dwinning in CS,like all i could think off all day is how im gonna win my matches. Its getting really frustratiing because with 500 hours getting lvl4 felt so rewarding while now i don't even have the level of 2.so its really bringing me down alot. But i guess not taking srsly the game can help me feeling better

If you think it is burnout, running might give you energy. Also try to plan fun activities that give you energy.
2020-09-24 12:09
Exercising does give me a small boost but usually after it I'm just so fatigued that overall it makes it worse. A lot of people have told me that it makes me more energized and I wouldn't feel so tired if I exercised more but when I come home from running I feel like the "energy boost" goes right out of the window and I just need to sleep for the next 15 hours.
2020-09-24 12:20
It might also be possible that you have something like Pfeiffer. So that is not anything on the mental side, but physical illness
2020-09-24 13:19

Maybe school is just not for you. I know many people who don't like school so they find work instead or decided to go to a half school half work.
2020-09-24 12:23
So how many hours in average do you actually sleep?
2020-09-24 12:25
Nowdays around 8. In the summer it was somewhere around 9-11 since I didn't have to wake up so early in the morning. A few years ago it was closer 5h and it for sure wasn't pleasant to wake up after sleeping for so few hours but I wasn't really a problem for me.
2020-09-24 12:28
Yeah that shouldn't be a problem then. Maybe go to doctor, its definitely not normal to be so tired. I remember being really tired and pilkkiing a lot in school but it was because I was just so bored and there was bad air I just had hard time keeping myself awake. I slept like 6 hours average but I wasnt really tired if I had anything more interesting to do.
