2nd ever Female player in MDL
 |
Sweden Lagge15
csnww.com/meet-bibiahn-mdls-newest-mix-t.. hltv.org/team/10835/rooster-2#tab-matche.. Rooster 2 in Australia have added a female player. She will be the 2nd ever player to play for a MDL team. So far she's only played 1 match for her new team and org, but it seems like she will get into more maps in MDL for the "academy" team of Rooster.

I believe that's down to MDL rules saying every player needs to play a certain amount of games.
2020-09-24 20:49
smoothcrim carried hard in the next game tho edit: not next match, but in a few of them

Like Lagge has said in #15, there are certain rules to MDL (I think players need to play at least 8 games in a season, though I might be mistaken), and with the game played earlier today that's been fulfilled, as it was Rooster 2's 8th game in the tournament. If not that, BiBi's a very busy person, and since smooth_criminal22 is still contracted to the team (according to the Tweet at least) it's possible they just used him as a stand-in. EDIT: For clarification, BiBi is still on the roster.

I haven't been able to follow ANZ MDL for about a3 seasons so I got no clue what roster they had last season. But MDL rules say they need to have at least 2 players from the last season to stay in the current one. So that's might be the reasoning. Or because ANZ MDL players can't really play full time.

Keiti is a trans woman, as in she is a man from birth. That still makes her the first woman to play MDL.
2020-09-24 21:45
why the fuck would you want to become a woman like hello? what is wrong with pepole

Ah yeah the news broke two days ago. Because of timezones and BiBiAhn having a packed schedule it took a little while to get it done. I mostly wrote the article to give some coverage of her as a player, rather than a news article.
2020-09-24 22:26
i presume the reason smooth criminal 22 was kicked is a joke, i doubt they would outright say that but they are australian so who knows at this point
2020-09-24 23:58
we will never know

Thank you! It was really interesting to hear from her, female CS really needs some more exposure. I was really happy to hear that she's so ambitious about her future in esports, I can imagine it's really hard for girls to find the motivation to really go into esports properly since it's so male dominant. The odds are really stacked against her.

Try to put aside the confusions and misunderstandings that are compromising the quality of your love relationship. It is time to let go of what has been spent, investing in a harmonious gift.

first female* di was only playing part time and keiti doesnt count because she is a man
2020-09-24 22:29
Who was the first vagina owner who got invited?
2020-09-24 23:27
Keiti, trans player for Mythic. Tbh I need to be convinced that female csgo players want to grind their craft. People say exposure or lack of funds but that didn't stop early cs players from looking better than a lot of the female players do now. Just saying.
2020-09-24 23:49
Oh I thought he was born male, didn't know he was a vagina owner when he was born
2020-09-24 23:51
No no not vagina owner but the twisted logic states male and female the same I can choose what I am
2020-09-24 23:56

More teams should do this and more female players should play on mixed gender teams. It's better for the scene as a whole with the female players improving more and the cs scene and leagues as a whole get filled with more competitive teams and players. These "female" only tournaments I guess are good for exposure but shouldn't be where they are today where females group up on female teams and just compete vs eachother. Also how will these tournaments handle persons who identify as women? Imagine a full team of transexual males that want to compete there and get told they can't. Noway these tournaments will last in the long run.

About playing on mix-teams, it's tough for girls to get onto an all-male team these days. Like BiBi said, out of her two options (to play on an all-female team overseas or play in a mix-team in ANZ) she thought the first option was more achievable and was fortunate to get the Rooster offer when she did. She's shown some real dedication to the sport and that's what got her there. I really hope we can start seeing some more girls playing in European mixes soon.
