To each their own, if you prioritize the technical side of the solo and it's complexity, then yes, I'd agree with those, but myself I like melodic solos, no matter how hard or complicated are they, they should sound good on top of everything else.

I didn't check 'em, maybe, but if it jumps out of the signature and just letting it loose then it's the same thing. I don't like the solos that are jerking for half of the song.

I agree with you. I got into an argument with a dear friend who is a hardcore classical uptight musician about this.. my point was that you can't not consider pop solos (like Slash's on welcome to the jungle) to be as good as those from Satriani, Santanna, etc, because it has fucked up, cross techniques and its easy - everyone can play. Because those were the ones that hitted the target , everyone remembers, it feels nice to listen, it became a little 'brand' of their own. He almost killed me.

Friendship is made of this, value your dear friend, I had mine and now we parted ways.
2020-09-25 15:28
i do. he is the one who thought me how to play. i am (quoting him) his anakin. i followed a non technical/mixed styles path while he cannot cope with the idea of 'getting out of the rules'. For example, he judges me because I play idk.. Rush using my jazz guitar with heavy metal captors kkkk being this different makes us complete each others.. i miss the jams together :( i am very sorry for your friend. i really understand this. one massive big F for you, my friend.

Thank you for the kind words. It's a great fortune to share your true passion for music with your friend, we couldn't get to that point in time... Get to the highest heights together and make a nice story!

except it is not over yet. he may not be around phisically but as long as you cherish his memory and carry him in your heart and mind on moments to come, the adventure carries on. this came to mind and i feel that i should leave this here for you: youtube.com/watch?v=2X_2IdybTV0&ab_chann..

I'm thankful! But it was inevitable, we changed drastically and it was a matter of time as we would go separate ways. I only think of the good times but it was a different person. Don't let your ego step in the way and go for a compromise, not for some useless argument victory!

Through out our lives, we tend to change close friends on a cycle of 7 years. Albeit the distancing may not come from disputes, the thing that we should give more importance to is how much this figure contributed to who we are today. Your friend might not be the same person you once loved, but indirectly, he is still responsible for who you are and for where you are now and THIS memory shall be always with you on your adventures. let go from the bad memories and cherish the good ones, mate. good luck, have a wonderful weekend!

Idc for solos really. Most of them are meh and solo heavy subgenres are not my go to ones. I will take a good riff over an amazing solo without a second thought
