COACH PUNISHMENTS STUPID?

I agree with punishing the coaches that used the bug, especially ones like Starix who for no reason accused flusha of cheating when he is a disgusting cheater himself who knew about the bug and never did anything. Look at this official document of the statement: esic.gg/annexure-a-sanction-outcomes.pdf Pita, who came out after first wave of bans where he wasnt included, gave a public apology for using it. After using the bug, he even sent a message to valve, reported it and informed them about its possible impact on the game (the right thing to do imo). Valve didnt give a shit and never did anything, never responded, nothing Him and starix both got a ban for 10 months. One of them accusing and calling out others for using it, second reporting it to the game developer. Then u even have more interesting cases like Ruggah (current OG coach) Based on the evidence, Ruggah somehow had the bug in a match in 2016 for only ONE ROUND, which the team ended up losing. He didnt use the bug ever since after that ONE ROUND. Even after helping out and getting some concessions applied (12.5%), he ended up getting a nearly 4 MONTH BAN. He currently cant coach og and wont be able to for the next 4 months isnt this just fucking stupid? Agree with punishing people like Twista, Rejin, Zoner, Dead or Hunden who intentionally used it to gain an advantage, but what the fuck Ruggah:Ddd. One (probably) accidental round, where he didnt know whats happening caused this guy to pretty much not be able to do his job for 4 months and might even cause him the job itself. This diversity in bans is imo biased, unfair and ridiculously stupid.

Not even talking about how BIG using a bug in a MAJOR didnt get any punishment and only got sorted by a "gentlemans agreement". Later on people figured theyve been using it for ages And another bug, which was the game developers problem caused some people to get banned for 3 years? Where is a punishment for big from krakow major then? They used an unfair advantage and exploited the game in a way they shouldnt have in the most important tournament of the year and won games because of it and no one cared? Why care now? What about IBP throw bans that are still ongoing forever? What the fuck?

I agree that using the jump bug was shitty and should've been punished but tournament admins stated it was allowed to use the bug. What is your argument here? Tournament admins 3 years ago were idiots and allowed bug usage so we shouldn't ban people for abusing bugs at all anymore?

Its true that it happened 3 years ago when cs community wasnt as developed as it is now, but ruggah got a 4 month ban for using this bug 4 years ago for one round they lost That is my argument Im not saying big players should be punished, im saying ruggah shouldnt be

I kinda get your point. Then again it would be kinda hard to draw the lines here, when and where to ban and when not to. For example it doesn't really matter if they lose the round or even the whole match where they used the bug. Idk. Ruggah came out to esic with it himself and said on Twitter he accepted the ban. It's kind of a grey area in this case I think. He also said on Twitter that he is thankful for OG for giving him a second chance, so it seems like he won't get fired atleast.

+1 I totally agree, if someone clearly used it to his advantage he deserves to be punished, but it is insane how this Isis joke or what the f is it called is handing out punishments, like look at robban they lost 16-1 and his players back him, like dude I hope coaches and orgs will sue the f outta this wannabe detectives over at isis, dudes are delusional and do not know how to hand out punishments properly...

Yeah I find it strange that nobody else seems to question ESIC's ban on coaches, apparently every coach is guilty.

I find it a little harsh. Maybe reduce some of the bans by half.

It is beyond stupid. Bug was known about, reported to both TOs and Valve yet it took a huge scandal to get it fixed. I think it is right to ban those who have abused it willingly and knowingly. But the real question is why it took so long and a scandal to get this sorted? It is bad for the game, the developer, the TOs and the whole community.
2020-09-28 13:23
Man CS scene is slowly going down if ESIC clowns keep unfairly banning coaches for laughable reasons. Valve also needs to address this issue quickly and stop only noticing their precious dota2
2020-09-28 13:26
But they wouldn't ban Ruggah for nothing, there obviously most have been something punishable in his demo. I dont think they would ban a guy just for seeing the bug.

esic is delusional by now thinking that if a coach had it for a round, even if he didnt give info, he should be banned
2020-09-28 13:33
i agree, those bans of hundreds of years before are shit, guerri proved that he didn't cheat, valve is shit and only fixes problems when they get famous and become a "serious" problem

If they are going to ban the coaches guilty of utilising the bug, they need to fully do the research necessary to ban the correct coaches of utilising it for personal gain. There were coaches that accidentally used it, reported it, then still got banned despite it not being utilised for personal gain. Otherwise I'm in favour of issuing bans to coaches knowingly using the bug and purposely cheating - it's deserved and their ban warranted.
