Yes, and over the last 4 years taxpayers have had to pay for him golfing for approximately 270 days at his own golf course. The price of that is approximately $109 million dollars. $109 million dollars. To visit a property he owns. snopes.com/fact-check/278-years-golf/

You’re also forgetting that 1 is a businessman who knows every tax loophole in the book while the others are politicians/actors who aren’t involved with money in every decision
2020-09-28 22:34
Trump doesn't know jack sheet. But in this case doesn't make a difference, as every person in that list outsources their tax management to firms -- nobody over a decent salary does their own taxes. What you decide when working with an accountant or firm is how far you want on legal, though usually frown upon, avoiding practices.
2020-09-29 02:01
Lol. Losing money is no loophole rich people use :D
2020-09-29 02:02
If so, why not fix those loopholes while he was in office? If you are right, then he is just president for his self interest, not for the interest of the people. Which is even worse than being a fraud businessman imo.
2020-09-29 22:36
Okay, thank you. My tax returns are good maybe even the best. My people are looking into them right now and i can say they are very good. -Trump

2020-09-29 22:50
they just said his BUSINESSES. not personal income tax
2020-09-29 00:25
business taxes isn't the same as personal taxes... Do you think that his business didn't pay any taxes at all ? xD Come on, anyone with basic knowledge about economics knows how stupid that sentece was. It is actually possible to not pay any taxes and still obey the law. If you personaly, NOT your companies, don't make money you don't pay taxes. Do I believe that he didn't make any money ? No I don't, I just bet that he knows how to avoid taxes without commiting any illegality...
2020-09-29 00:48
I think a lot of businesses don't pay taxes yeah. "In 2018, Amazon posted income of more than $11 billion, but the company paid $0 in federal taxes. In fact, thanks to tax credits and deductions, Amazon actually received a federal tax refund of $129 million. That was a year after Amazon received a $137 million refund from the federal government for 2017." (source: cnbc.com/2020/02/04/amazon-had-to-pay-fe.. ) And no, business tax and personal income tax isn't the same. But you can't drive around in fancy cars, wear expensive suits, finance your own presidential election campaign and claim you have had no income for 10 years whatsoever. Unless ofcourse the company pays everything for you in which case I'd bet the IRS has a thing or two to discuss with you and the company.
2020-09-29 03:02
"Each time, he requested an extension to file his 1040; and each time, he made the required payment to the I.R.S. for income taxes he might owe — $1 million for 2016 and $4.2 million for 2017." Direct quote from the NYT article.

he said that's fake news according to his twitter, which makes sense because it's worthless to him he doesn't even use his presidential salary/financial perks
2020-09-29 00:23
Isn't he also the first president in a long time to not be paid a presidential salary? And hasn't he lost $3bn in net worth since he became President? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's hard to pay income tax when you have no income.

+1 people just want headlines and dont care to check
2020-09-29 00:30
He has no income? So all his businesses are running a deficit? Ofcourse he can't take a presidential salary. He knows damn well people were gonna find out what a tax-evader he is. The guy can't make a profit apparently but he is "definitely very very very rich". He owes millions to banks. Or atleast to Deutsche Bank because most other banks wouldn't lend him money. You see, most banks require you to show you can make money and are worth what you claim before they'll lend you some.
2020-09-29 00:36
Well if he's lost $3bn in 4 years, I presume most of them are, yes. So he's still taking $150,000 less than past presidents of tax payers' money in that year? In terms of net contributions that would still put him above Bush and Clinton. If these banks don't think he can make money... how is he making money? Isn't this just proving my point, that he has no income to pay tax on?
2020-09-29 00:49
Do you remember Clinton or Bush staying at their own resorts or hotels? Do you remember foreign leaders booking a room at said hotels to get on the good side of the president? Do you remember them advertising for Goya foods or other products while in office?
2020-09-29 00:56
Point?
2020-09-29 01:00
My point is that unlike Bush or Clinton, Trump and his companies are making money directly of the fact he is the president.
2020-09-29 01:01
Did you miss the part where I said his net worth has dropped by $3bn? Evidently he's not making anything worthwhile. Besides, how does this relate to his income tax? If his businesses aren't making a profit and/or he's not taking a salary from them, that's irrelevant. And do you really think no other president has made money off of being president apart from their salary before?
2020-09-29 01:07
Oh they probably have but nowhere near this scale before. As for how much his net worth has dropped or not, I really can't say. It's not something I can estimate and with people's tendency to inflate numbers on their books when applying for a loan to then under-report assets when it comes to taxation I really don't trust anything in that regard.
2020-09-29 01:14
$3bn would have to be a pretty ridiculous under-report.
2020-09-29 01:16
You'd be surprised how easy it is to inflate numbers by brand value alone. Theranos was valued at 9 billion dollars. Elizabeth Holmes networth was estimated at 3 billion. 6 months later her net worth is a big fat zero. That's not unheard of. We had a guy in Denmark called Stein Bagger who's company was valued at almost a billion before the cards came crashing down. You'd be surprised how much of our financial system is based on faith alone.
2020-09-29 01:26
Looking into Donald Trump's net worth history, it seems that he personally has a tendency to overestimate it, not the other way around, as he does with a lot of other subjects. He's said before he was worth $10bn+, but Forbes only valued him at around $4bn at the time. His most recent Forbes valuation has him at $2.1bn, down from $3.1bn a month prior, which is probably largely down to the impact of covid. But still, even before that he has been consistently losing a lot of money. And you can't exactly prove that those figures are just inaccurate.
2020-09-29 01:49
Ofcourse I can't. I'm just saying it's hard to evaluate on assets alone. That's not how value in and of itself is measured. Brand value plays a huge part. I can design a pair of shoes. And Nike can design a pair of shoes. Their shoes will still be valued higher than mine from brand value alone. So it's never as simple as just counting assets.
2020-09-29 02:56
But none of this is relevant Also, I found this: twitter.com/alexthechick/status/13105580..
2020-09-29 03:18
His business making money or not doesn't have anything to do with his income. His business can all be making millions and Trump itself can have zero income at the same time. Come on man, it's basic stuff...
2020-09-29 00:54
Ehhh? He can only claim to make no money if he doesn't take a paycheck. And if he doesn't, where does his fortune come from? How can he afford to finance a presidential election campaign if he hasn't taken a paycheck for 15 years?
2020-09-29 00:58
When people say that his net worth is 3 billion dollards, doesn't mean that he himself has 3 billion dollars. It means that his possession (be it real estate, be it company participations, etc) is worth 3 billion. If I own a company that is evaluated in 3 mil, my net worth is 3 mil. I can have 0 dolars in my pocket and still have a net worth of 3 mil. And I could afford my presidential election using my company funds (with backstage plays) instead of my personal accounts. Didn't he refused his presidential salary ? It is possible that he actually declares low income and it's also possible that he declares high income but have enough deductable expenses or any other loopholes in the tax laws that allows him to pay a small amount in taxes.
2020-09-29 01:05
I can only speak for Danish accounting laws as I've only gone to business school here. But do you know how assets are valued? If it's anything like in Denmark it's basically up to the company and their accountants to estimate a value and report it and only if the tax department finds it extremely suspicious can you risk an investigation of said assets and their value. It's the same when it comes to declining value. If I own a business, buy a van for said business I get to report how much it's worth and what decrease in value I think it will have over the years. No one is coming in to check if my van is in fact decreasing 20% in value each year as I claim.
2020-09-29 01:19
Sure, but again your company value, or even your company profit, isn't necessarily your income..
2020-09-29 01:45
Instead of being mad, people should look how he did it and do the exact same thing to pay few taxes...
2020-09-29 01:06
Yeah. Because nothing like tax evasion guarantees infrastructure being maintained, schools working, government employees getting paid and the military functioning at all right? I so wish all these anti-taxers could just go buy an island together instead of freeloading on those of us who do pay our fair share.
2020-09-29 01:21
Tax evasion is not the same as tax avoidance. Nobody talked about tax evasion. Think before you talk man

bro trump donated every paycheck he earned while in office and im pretty sure that his businesses are in huge loses so he doesnt pay
2020-09-29 00:29
Well he doesn't pay because he feel like he isn't entitled to, which is shitty regardless. But people don't care about the good things he's done, people only see the negative of people they disagree with and only the positive of those they agree with. No one is going to change the mind of anyone who dislikes trump or the mind of anyone who likes him. At least that's the way it works 99% of the time. People are stupid and stubborn.

up next: does trump cover his own health insurance? does he pay for his own food? and do the tax payers pay more on his meals than obama JUST because he is fat? the man loves golf and despite that he gets stuff done people love to over look it but he does look at the last couple of weeks 2 peace deals and more coming before covid america had the best economy they ever had and a lot more great things
2020-09-29 01:01
I'm not so sure about "America has the best economy they ever had" The Congressional Budget Office reported in January 2020 that the average american household would have $1200 bucks less in expandable income than in 2019 as a result of Trumps tariffs. Combine that with an increase in prices for certain imported goods and the economy looks less impressive for the average citizen. (From wiki): "In CBO's estimation, the trade barriers put in place by the United States and its trading partners between January 2018 and January 2020 would reduce real GDP over the projection period. The effects of those barriers on trade flows, prices, and output are projected to peak during the first half of 2020 and then begin to subside. Tariffs are expected to reduce the level of real GDP by roughly 0.5 percent and raise consumer prices by 0.5 percent in 2020. As a result, tariffs are also projected to reduce average real household income by $1,277 (in 2019 dollars) in 2020. CBO expects the effect of trade barriers on output and prices to diminish over time as businesses continue to adjust their supply chains in response to the changes in the international trading environment."

sure, but you are forgetting that those 1200$ were seposed to be spent in american businesses and not in reverse engineered american tech made in china all he did was act on a need for american tech not to be stolen
2020-09-29 09:46
I think its funny the left is using this as reasoning for why the 1% should be taxed more... They literally can't even get the 1% to pay their taxes in the first place, what the fuck would raising their taxes do? If everyone payed taxes like they're supposed to this country would be in a lot better shape without changing the way taxes work throughout every presidency.
2020-09-29 00:30
our government is also hella wasteful
2020-09-29 00:41
I mean, he didnt break any laws, and you also have to remember that he donates his salary to charity
2020-09-29 00:31
I'm not an expert, but I think finding loopholes to not pay taxes is fraud. If he and the other extremely wealthy payed their taxes like the middle class does this country would have trillions to use to go into a large variety of problem areas that could make both sides of the political spectrum happy. But they're never going to pay them with the left wanting to make them pay 70% of their earnings in taxes every year so that's irrelevent.
2020-09-29 00:35
Tax avoidance is not a crime. Tax avoidance is what we should all do. It's just looking to the law's and using them into our own benefit. Critizising someone for doing something that we can and should do is just moronic... Tax evasion, on the other hand, is a crime and if he did that he should be punished for it.
2020-09-29 00:57
