Which one do you think looks harder? I think Rally looks harder and more dangerous.

harder -> definitely f1 more dangerous -> historically f1, nowadays drivers are safe af. Not sure why it being dangerous would be criteria for anything though
2020-09-29 00:46
Tell that Anthoine Hubert
2020-09-29 03:21
i mean yeah, but that was a car crashing right into his side at 200+km/h. Alonso literally went flying in 2016 and just walked it off for instance (still, perhaps 'safe af' wasnt the best choice of word)
2020-09-29 03:28
no motorsport is actually safe, they can make it safer then it use to be but its still not safe, Alonso may have walked away from that crash but only 2 years earlier Jules Bianchi did not walk away from his and unfortunately died. like last year Hubert died in the F2 crash and then the next race weekend Alex Peroni broke his back in that scary airborn crash. Hubert wont be the last driver to die unfortunately

2020-09-29 15:38
if some kind of highspeed crash like this would happen in f1 life would be at risk aswell so...
2020-09-29 15:49
Yes yes, rallying 120-190km/h in forest isnt dangerous.
2020-09-29 14:43
The last driver to die in HIgh level rally driving was in 2006. In F1 you had Jules Bianchi in 2014 and of course Antoinne Hubert in 2019 in F2... Not gonna say Rallying is safe, but still F1 from a fatality point seems to be more dangerous
2020-09-29 15:23
how did you take away "isnt dangerous" from what I said
2020-09-29 16:21
Yeah, definitely rally is more dangerous nowadays, but f1demands more from the physical part of the driver
2020-09-29 00:46
The last driver to die in HIgh level rally driving was in 2006. In F1 you had Jules Bianchi in 2014 and of course Antoinne Hubert in 2019 in F2... Rallying seems to have less fatalities overall to be honest
2020-09-29 15:24
rally is way more difficult. the road/condition could change after 1 car goes through the stage. i think you have to be more ballsy to push to the limits while driving in the forest with 180-190 km/h. also you rely on your co driver meanwhile in f1 you only rely on your driving.
2020-09-29 00:48
I would put it this way - rally is harder, but f1 is more exhausting. stage in rally is not longer than what? 10? 15 minutes? meanwhile in F1 you have to stay focused for almost 2 hours
2020-09-29 00:51
180km h is not that fast sorry to disappoint you little kid

180kmh on narrow gravel roads with jumps & with trees right next to the road is a little different than driving on f1 stage
2020-09-29 14:08
Ye but you are pushing it to the limit so how narrow the track is doesnt matter

How does it not? You really cant see whats coming ahead but in F1 u already know how to approach corners etc... They are different & require different skills but rallying is still more difficult IMO.
2020-09-29 17:37
Because the sheer skill that you need to have to push a f1 car and not crash outweights the unpredictable tracks on rally, also usually navigators do the job for you pretty well. Almost no rally driver could drive an f1 car meanwhile most if not all f1 drivers could drive in rally, we have seen so many f1 drivers dominate other categories in motosport when they had to leave f1

believe it or not, driving on thin loose surfaced roads on cliffs is a bit more difficult than driving on constantly well kept paved roads
2020-09-29 14:12
to be honest i driven 120 on terrible road with terrible car didnt seem that hard at all, and terrible tires. And with F1 ivprobably wouldnt make one lap without crashing.

with f1 the faster you go the easier it is to drive, you'll spin out if you go too slow. With rally if you aren't paying attention for a split second it's a gg
2020-09-29 14:23
Its not easier lmao, you just have to push the car or the tires and brakes wont heat up, if you are not paying attention you will be fked in any car which is stupid, but its still a lot harder to be a fast f1 driver than it is to be a fast rally driver

rally is probably harder in terms of skill because u need really big balls but f1 is harder, u need really good physique and psykik but f1 requires u not to make a single mistake for 50+ laps at avg speed of +200km/h, lots of G-forces constantly. if u press the gas just a bit earlier, there u go, u spun thats how unforgiving f1 is
2020-09-29 00:55
yep, you take one kerb a little bit too much and the race is over for you

idk about mistakes, in my personal opinion make mistake in snow or dark track in rally its much easier, than in f1 50 laps race. Also Hamilton even with spin in first laps probably could finish in top3.

"The last fatality to occur during a Formula 1 race was the tragic loss Jules Bianchi at the Suzuka racetrack in 2014. His lost control of his car and slid into a crane which was removing another wreck from the race track. The last fatality before that was back in 1994, with the tragic loss of the legendary driver Aryton Senna at Imola." no one dies from f1 crashes anymore, there are way too many precautions made around the tracks
2020-09-29 14:27
F1 driver will go to rally no problem, Howcome rally driver would go to F1 please explain, I never could imagine transfer from rally to f1
2020-09-29 14:36
What about f2 and f3 just had another death recently, and yes they have put tons of money in safety cause i dont think you want a driver to die every race for a mistake lmao
2020-09-29 15:11

f1 is harder, i could do some amount of rallying, 150km/h seems not that fast for me, but 300 is whole different category.

Obviously rallly is more dangerous, no questions asked, and if you had to do rally as long as people had to do F1 it would be way more taxing, you just can't compare driving on road courses to driving on loose surfaces. Besides group b rally is probably the most dangerous racing series ever concieved.

I like both but rally looks scarier. It's slower than F1 but still driving as fast as the rally drivers through forests takes bravery.
2020-09-29 14:24
Rally = Saturday qualifiers day in F1. All about make the fastest lap/sprint. The Race F1 > any motorsport. Fastest cars in the world. You have overtakes. You have crashes almost every race. Pit-stop strategies, managing tires, breaks. Although current state in F1 you just watch it at who will be at 4th place. Because HamBotVer is just boring. So historically F1 is better, imo.
2020-09-29 14:27
Your whole 2nd point is same in Rally aswell, irrelevant

2020-09-29 14:40
F1 is obviously harder due to the extreme impact that G-Force has on the driver. But i understand people here saying that rally is harder. Maybe it's because of the difference of the tracks. gfycat.com/briskdisguisedislandwhistler-.. The average adult head weight is ~5kg, the average for an F1 Helmet is 1.5-2kg. During a 4.2g corner, the driver's neck is supporting up to 29.4kg. Imagine doing that for 56 laps.

Rally has harder tracks, smaller roads, loose gravel, rocks, other unpredictable things such as dust on road, wild animals etc + every stage is different. F1 has same lap, with good road, but higher speeds. So id say Rally is harder.

You cant die in the rally due to a crash when a car hits right into you at a speed of over 250 km/h and after this crash your car looks like the Titanic during the sinking
2020-09-29 15:35
These days, I would say Rally. in 90s I would say F1 had greater risk since it was open cockpit, no neck support, manual gearbox and speeds were high. These days Rally looks hard af.
2020-09-29 15:51
not really to comparable rally is carcontrol and balls. f1 is perfection both hard af in other ways dagarous both but rally less safe
