Shroud: CS:GO dying
CIS Reconstructor
sportskeeda.com/amp/esports/shroud-opens.. My man, Shroud. NA isnt anything worth in cs since forever. Losing NA to valoshit doesnt affect csgo hype anyway and when we all know that all who failed in cs with other words losers and shit players, went over to Valorant. And xyi da fak want to watch cs player in Valorant?
2020-10-21 11:18
Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
I mean losers in cs, competing in Valoshit. Noone except NA want to watch it 4sure
2020-10-21 11:24
Na valulrant players will comeback crying to CS after 1 year and they will play in teams like Rugratz,RBG etc.

Do you think transfering skins to another game is hard?
2020-10-21 12:21
They could make the skins work in both or implement some way to port them over. It's the same company that makes Steam, after all.

Sounds like an engineering nightmare. Upgraded engine, graphics, etc. then transferring all the skins, stickers, coins lol. Idk. It sounds a shit ton easier to start fresh.

i know but it would be better if we had less tournaments with bigger prize pools cause now we have a tier 1 tournament every week

Tos probably make much lesser on online tournaments because of which they have to spam tournaments to milk their sponsors as much as they can to sustain themselves and the more frequent tournaments get the more viewership will drop and the whole cycle will keep repeating. Hopefully we just get some lan events soon

Ya they should make it like LOL and DOTA that give massive prizes in every competition and they usually only have abt 3-8 events a year?

Thay would be nice, but I doubt valve would ever take that initiative with cs, no matter how popular it gets

There is one point he talks about which seems quite interesting when he talks about the practice in NA. Apparently half of all of his scrims were a waste of time because the other team only cared about winning. So it's bad for the team trying to practice but also for the team constantly trying to win while not practicing. From what he's saying, this problem will simply transfer to the next game, and the next game, indefinitely in NA E-sports. It's not really a CSGO problem, although it has its issues, it's more of an NA problem

No wonder he is from NA
2020-10-21 11:30
meanwhile valorant doesn't even have a scene and tier 2-4 na cs pros are getting 20-30k a month
2020-10-21 11:31
perfect time for Shroud to come back because the NA scene is so trash so he will look decent
2020-10-21 11:31
Lol after 1 year all the trash csgo players who left for valorant will return in the t3 scene
2020-10-21 11:32

We're very likely 6 months away from another major and that's if we get a legit vaccine before the end of the year.

I think if a major is going to happen within 6 months its going to be a studio with small crowd (100 max). Next year I'm positive that a full major could be achieved with screening and protection for players (booth's where they don't come in contact with crowd)

Idk, Brazil even cancelled the 21' Carnival because of covid. If I were Valve, I'd choose a different location for the first major of 2021 and set Rio for the second.

They'd face a lot of backlash for changing venue especially after promising Brasil a major as soon as they could

I don't know if they would. The people who already bought tickets got their refunds and if Valve made it clear why they made the change, I think people would understand, considering the cause for it. It's not like the major would be cancelled, it'd be just another reschedule. But I honestly think Valve won't do anything and will wait until the last minute again to make an announcement.
2020-10-21 12:17

But they have kept their tickets if they want to keep them, and I'm pretty sure there was a cutoff for refunds. For sure, all I'm saying is its 99% going to happen in Brazil eventually, just prob not for a year minimum. Ofc its Valve hahaha

Shroud's takes on CSGO are really strange. He said the same thing 2 years ago and the game only gained more following since then. That's the game that launched his career and he constantly shits on it with animosity in his voice. Something weird must've happened behind the scenes that made him hate the game.
2020-10-21 11:39

Cuz he was good only in pog cs and never could do shit on finals. Mb thats why
2020-10-21 11:42
Imagine retiring from CS because of him being garbage and going to valorant following a complain about the CS scene and saying that cs is dying. CS is loosing garbage players who are not achieving anything.

I think people are overreacting way too much in 2020. We're still dealing with this shit virus and can't have offline LAN games. NA is garbage right now and has been garbage for most of CSGO's life cycle. Shroud has amazing aim mechanics, but was always incredibly overrated and didn't have the work ethic to push him to a higher level. He said it himself that he isn't a competitive person, which is the key element to push yourself to become better. C9 even won a major without him, so let's stop acting as if dude is the goat. If there's one shooter out there that isn't going to die, is CS. I doubt CSGO will die anytime soon and if it does, I'm pretty sure it will be because Valve will come out with a successor. There's no other game out there like this. We can shit on it all we want, but the game is unique. No wonder Riot tried to rip off key elements from CS, the game has been around for 20 years. Shroud has no clue about what he's talking about and he's been saying that since he retired. I don't care if he was a pro or not, you can still be an oblivious dumbass, even at pro level.

SHROUD IN 2k20 hahaha, guy is still alive? Why he is talking about CS, no success in Valorant ?XD 20 years old game have more viewers on twitch than new game made by Riot so how is CS dying
2020-10-21 12:22
Shr🤡ud
2020-10-21 12:28
For not dying in the longer perspective i wanna see more frequent map-rotations, lets say every halfyear/year, in that span it atleast Tuscan in near future i hope and a remade Aztec to throw into the mix would be great
2020-10-21 12:32
Just let the guy have his opinion ffs
2020-10-21 12:59
he's been saying that for years
2020-10-21 13:00
best thing is valorant scene in na is also a joke, most teams are tier 3 compared to europe KEKW
2020-10-21 13:01
Temporarily, due to covid and an artificially valuated Valorant scene. I think it can bounce back.
2020-10-21 13:01
cs - twitch valul - mixer another solid choice from mr shrood
2020-10-21 13:04
It won't kill cs but its healthier for a games esports scene if it has players around the world

2020-10-21 13:18
"Cloud 9 is probably pulling out soon (after 100T)" They just spent close to 10M on their roster. How clueless can you be? CS dying is a meme. The competitive scene may be weak at the moment, but compared to any other FPS it's still the biggest scene.
2020-10-21 13:24
USA alone is still the country with the biggest playerbase, in front of russia. NA as a whole has about the double amount of players as russia. People have been saying CS is dying for years, with paper thin evidence.
2020-10-21 17:20
He literally contradicts himself. Players wouldnt be getting paid 30-40k a month if the game was dying. Seeing as how theres no big LANs or majors that money has to be coming from somewhere. Its coming from sponsors. Sponsors wouldnt sponsor if they werent getting economic benefit out of it which means theres clearly still sufficient viewership and purchases from fans. With that said he also mentions how teams are pulling out. HELLO? Its the middle of a pandemic, not surprising that some teams are cutting their losses and halting their cashflow atm. If you compare any esports hype pre-2020 to now its going to have dropped off. Lack of crowds is ofc going to hurt that.
