What is the best resolution for playing CS:GO When i started playing CS GO i played 1920x1080 and 16:9, and after sometime i got told to use 1024x768 and 4:3, and i did. and now i play with 1280x960 and 4:3 But as i can see many pro players are going back to 16:9 - 1920x1080, but why?

Probably because theyve gotten tired of it? It literally doesnt matter. Just pick whatever you are comfortable with and it suits with your crosshair

1024x768 stretch bestest

16:9 is nice because you see more on your screen - and today lowering resolutions to have better FPS isn't the case for pros anymore, so they just get used to 16:9 resolutions for better view

16:9 1920x1080 just looks good to the eye to be honest. Thats why I moved back to it too from 4:3. In the end, resolution being 4:3 or 16:9 doesnt matter that much. You can get used to 16:9 just as well as 4:3. Also, basically all other games are 16:9 so that helps you be more consistent if you play other games. If you want to play 4:3 with good resolution tho, I recommend 1440x1080. Its almost as sharp as native but still stretched.

Couldn't agree more, switched from 1024x768 to 1080p after 4 years and I regret I didn't do it sooner.

I don't have 1440x1080 in the options, is there a console command or a launch option to setup a custom resolution like that? 4:3 and 16:9 is based off of preference, the higher the resolution in each ratio the better for your eyes, maybe not for your PC, but it shouldn't matter that much during these times. (4:3 bigger heads to hit, hehe)

If you have an amd gpu you gotta create a custom res in the drivers, I'm not sure about nvidia

anything else but 4:3 looks ugly as hell, crosshairs are beautiful on 4:3

I am playin at 16:10, and its fine. IDK who is going back to fullHD but the only reason they want to see better. when you decrease pixel count. (spray, noscope etc.) getting easier but you cant see well and valve make this game harder to see with agent skins.

The more pixels on display, the more accurately you can aim, the more difficult to aim. If you had 4x3 resolution, then surely moving your crosshair to the pixel uinder which some enemy players are isn't difficult, but would be impossible to be accurate.

I feel like 4:3 is much easier to hit because everything is so big. 16:9 feels so small.

Just stick your head into monitor to improve your aim if that's what you believe.

First 1080p, then 1440p, after that 1280x960 @144 Hz, then 1440x1080 @240Hz, now 1920x1440 @240Hz.
