I couldn't eat for over a day before I even went to hospital, I tried but it came up.
Then I had to fast for surgery which ended up being over a day again.
After that surgery I had a tiny bit of soup and some milk but I couldn't keep that down. Then before I could try to eat more I started spiking a fever and had some scans which found a secondary infection and possible peritonitis (my appendix had ruptured before they removed it) so I had to fast for surgery again, this time it took 2 days before I actually had the second surgery :-(
Then when that was all done I was able to eat a bit, even solid food, but I couldn't keep enough down so I kept losing weight although not as fast.
Overall I rate the experience -5/10, could've been worse (it almost was much worse, before the surgery they told me I'd likely be waking up with a stoma because they would need to do a resection, but they only removed my appendix in the end which was so lucky) but I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
And sorry for the long reply men!
