The list should be cancelled this year like Ballon d'Or.

canceling Ballon d'Or was shitty decision dude...
2020-10-24 12:49
Idk about cancelled because some smaller names might get mentioned now that wouldn’t usually. Relevancy decreased for most, of course.

2020-10-24 12:43
Of course. Why I would it not?
2020-10-24 12:44

2020-10-24 13:46
Ofc Its just the "pros" that cant be "pro" to play from home... They dont deserve it anyway..
2020-10-24 12:46
it will be shit show tbh...imo hltv shouldnt make it this year but they will. i hope for god sake that they will at least make rankings(for na and eu)
2020-10-24 12:48
Ofc not. Because there will be some players who's playing like a shit on LANs (like XANTARES and etc.)

Site owned by Astralis CEO so I wouldn't be surprised if TOP 6 only ASStralis players
2020-10-24 12:49

There's a reason everyone can win online. Much less pressure than in a studio enviroment or in front of a crowd. There are LAN teams and there are online teams, that's just the way it goes.

They still beat Astralis and Vitality. The real joke is you saying they're only good online when we have no way of knowing how good they would be on LAN.

And at the beginning of Corona they played absolute dogshit online. They didn't even make the original major qualifier. Then they improved as a whole. There is no way to know if they had done the same on LAN as online, which also means there is no way of knowing if they had done worse.

Don't expect teams to hold their level when it's a completely different landscape for a reason.

But if every team can be comfortable, every team will get best performance out and level of game will increase and only best will win

Actually some teams seem to perform their best on LAN when there's more pressure, online doesn't mean as much for them. The hype makes them play better. Old VP is a good example.

...Or they were just better than other teams at handling pressure on lan so their level didnt drop as much as other teams :)

Yes, I think that's also true and probably the biggest reason but I think what I said also has some truth to it.
2020-10-24 13:49
btw when i said "don't expect teams to hold their level" i meant it's harder for them to win tournaments online because it's more competitive in that sense. I didn't necessarily mean that they're worse now, I know that in lots of cases it's just that the other teams are now better.

Yeah, this is the main problem. Some players playing in EU, some in NA and some in CIS, the performance will mean absolutely nothing.

I'd rather not see one
2020-10-24 13:06
Yes but only as "Top 20 online"
2020-10-24 13:18
Only think that really matters is who will be top1 and also maybe top 5. All other under will be so random as so many pros had 1 good event then trash all year. It will be fight between s1mple and zywoo for number 1. Then like fight for top 5 by like ropz, electronic, magisks, niko + few other.
