Who's better and stronger as a player on peak? strawpoll.me/21152449

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
most people dont remember or dont even know shox's prime so its kinda irrelevant question.

niko's prime is also "error 404 not found" so I bet shox's one is still better

tbh i think shox at his prime was insane and over the top of other players, his insane clutches etc. niko doesnt have that many insane clutches(not talking about fpl) but hes a consistent fragger and always there to step up for the team. for me its shox, i still think niko deserves a highlight.

NiKo more mechanically skilled peak, but shox much more balanced.

it's really tough, they're both insane players when they're in top form Niko had those incredible moments / games that made him a consistent top 5/10 throughout the years but Shox at his peak and on form was unbeatable period. really touggh choice, I'd put them on the same level :D

In terms of peak I put shox above NiKo because he’s more adaptable.

Yeeah. It's a little bit sad, but newcomers don't know how amazing were old players before (

I remember. I remember watching pro players playing against players that had to do 8 hours of work before coming home and doing some practice with the team. I remember when all of that shit happend in the early 2000's and it just showed that you didn't need any skill whatsoever since players that didn't work and played all day were automatically better. The same can be said for early CSGO, there really wasn't much besides just playing 24/7 and the team strategies often left a lot to wish for. But yeah - let's pretend that GTR and NiPs 81 win streak means something when it's against (in todays standard) at best semi-pro players. I'm not saying NiP sucked, but pretty much all the teams at that time had very subpar standards.

i didnt say that niko had higher peak or something like that. but calling niko "average at best with some exceptions (1-2 matches in a year)." is just retarded

2020-10-24 14:48
Lol is it even a question? Shox is ok player but his prime was not competitive cs
2020-10-24 14:55
Let's play a game, just compare stats from both. Niko tournament peak was 1.70 of rating. hltv.org/stats?event=2636 Niko match peak was 2 of rating with 40 bombs hltv.org/news/22285/nikos-40-bomb-powers..

Many ppl saying "lol newcomers" just to satisfy themselves because they've been following the scene for a long time, but I ask you, isn't your memory putting shox above what it should? Always when we try to remember something like this our brain put it a lot better than really were. So, numbers and achievements say a lot better than our memory.

+ shox peak was not when cs was competitive. + he loses in every stats
2020-10-24 15:04
You cannot compare them by stats from their primes. Shox prime was when rating 1.0 was used, NiKo's prime was when rating 2.0 was used
2020-10-24 15:12
2 replies
That's true, but as hltv says "The main goal in moving to Rating 2.0 was to provide a more accurate representation of a player's performance, especially to discontinue underrating players who contribute in less impactful ways while continuing to reward those who have high impact on the game." which doesn't fit shox case, his rating wouldn't change drastically. Rating 1.0 still considered kills rating, survival and impact
2020-10-24 15:25
1 reply
Players like fnx had a huge improvement in rating, but others doesn't changed significantly. It basically favors support players and I don't think if you successfully calculated shox ratings to the 2.0 would fill the gap difference (1.40 versus 1.70 in competitive cs)

You can't compare a cheater and a legit player
2020-10-24 15:06
Niko is just poor mens shox with worse results
2020-10-24 15:14
Although Shox is by no means bad, imo NiKo had a better peak in terms of highlight plays and individual skill
